Scam of a business. The shipping charges are ridiculous and they do not even tell you how much they charged you until they shipped it out

UPDATE. I had requested cancellation earlier during the phone call. Now the response (unapologetically) is that it isn't even cancelled??? It also mentions it on this review. So now I need to jump through multiple hoops to cancel a 5 week old order??? The customer "solutions" team is a joke as they are INTENTIONALLY IGNORING multiple cancellation requests. One over the phone and again, mentioned here. Try to charge me and I will report this to my bank as an UNAUTHORIZED TRANSACTION. No voicemail when I called again like a real company should have in place... Shady all around.
I notice that there has been a few very recent negative reviews and all pertaining to the lack of customer service with regard to order updates, so I am going to add on...
I ordered a product ($200!) a month ago and didn't receive an update. I missed a call from them a week ago (I work FT in person about 47 miles from home, so life's a blur right now, so excuuuuse me for missing a call and not realizing it right away but blaming the customer is a %#$@ move.). I noticed the missed call today and called to inquire. Right off the bat the guy answered and rudely said "Well, I have no idea why we called." He didn't even bother to try to look up my account or anything and his attitude, well.. it just sucked. He then had the nerve to blame me for missing the call by stating "Well, we made attempts to call you." NO.. A SINGLE attempt to call a customer without even leaving a voicemail or a follow up email is NOT a bona fide effort to reach someone. I had to practically beg for a shipping update (which he should have just offered, given the $ amount I was spending). I didn't call to be blamed for missing their one phone call (I was on the Pike/driving at the time - they had ALL DAY to call me, but of course they called at a time when those of us who still have to leave the house to work were driving home). I decided to cancel at this point and was spoken to snarkily. I guess they don't need any new business as I am not the only recent customer to experience this issue.

There was going to be a delay in shipping our order so they wanted to know how often and how much we need for future orders. Helps us and them for supply chain issues. Great service for looking ahead!!

This was my first time placing an order with R.S. Hughes. I chose R.S. Hughes because it had what appeared to on hand stock of our preferred brands of certain PPE items (gloves, safety glasses, lens towelettes). However the order fulfillment was very slow, with the order being partially fulfilled over 24 days and at times appearing as if parts of the order were unilaterally cancelled with no communication or updates as I typically get from other vendors regarding backorders or delays. I ultimaely had to place an order with another vendor to ensure delivery of items in a more timely manner.
Suffice to say, despite an extensive catalogue and ease of ordering, I will be hesitant to use R.S. Hughes again.

Not an strong process to cancel orders
Aug 31, 2023. PAC place PO 200277
Sep 4th, 2023 RS Hughes indicates PAC, material is in BO and indicates 14 to 21 BD for delivery.
Sep 11th, 2023 PAC request RSH to cancel and refund order
Sep 25th RSH indicates cancel is not posible since material is already shipped.
Material arrives to PAC facilities and PAC request the RMA since material is no longer requested. RHS indicates PAC the supplier didn’t allow us to cancel or return the material since its make to order. We receive 400 USD in material that expire in 6 months and nobody from RSH is helping us with the RMA. Invoice 80564090-00

Never get a 2nd chance at a 1st impression
On Tuesday October 24, 2023 at approximately 1711 hours, Harry Abbott from TradeZone purchased (2) 1 gallon pales of Dap 00443 adhesive from R.S.Hughes online website. The specialty adhesive was specified from a client installing radiant panels. The project was time sensitive and scheduled to be installed October 28th. As such, Harry ordered UPS 2nd day air shipping at the time of the purchase as illustrated in Exhibit A, Exhibit B, Exhibit C, and Exhibit D. R.S.Hughes failed to process the order in a timely manner which resulted in a delay getting the order to the UPS facility to ship in time and failed to honor the 2nd Day Air timeline. Upon checking the provided UPS tracking number and learning the Dap 00443 product would not arrive on time, TradeZone needed to send an employee to Fresno on overtime to pick up the needed product. The contractor who ordered the product from TradeZone is being fined $1,000.00 per day as a late penalty for holding up the project. TradeZone will be invoiced for the $1,000.00 delay penalty as well as incurring the fuel expense and employee overtime costs to pick up the product from a mid-California based vendor.

Call before you order online, items not in stock!
I ordered items that all appeared in stock from the website. Everything was delayed, items are trickling in as individual items in single boxes. My order is still less than 1/3 fulfilled after weeks. If I knew they were out of stock, I would have ordered from a different company.
