There's a wealth of conflicting information online about the booming industry of electric scooters. Massimo at the Fairfield store in Melbourne, Victoria, was a friendly character who cleared up all my confusion, was patient with my array of questions, and enabled me to walk away with an awesome purchase and better knowledge. I'm now enjoying my scooter for both work trips and joy rides. Additionally, I had some issues with my scooter which were promptly sorted by Massimo and his team. Had Dani help me with a freight issue. I emailed about the problem I was having and I was contacted within 5 minutes by Dani. She got onto helping me solve the issue and had it all solved within a day! She constantly kept me updated with emails as she received the information. I would sincerely like to thank the entire Scooter hut Team in Balcatta for their outstanding customer service and proffessionalism in replacing a battery for my Wolf King GT. Nice work Dani/Ryan/Aaron/Riley and Sarah. The battery was losing charge and had expired under the previous Scooter hut owners warranty. Without a long story they worked with me and to achieve a great outcome and I am back on the road again.

Hi, going through the process of getting my scooter fixed and 6 months later I think Iâm going to have to get a lawyer involved to get my money back. DO NOT purchase anything from Scooter Hut. They do not honour there warranty. You will just be wasting your time and money. Avoid at all cost.

Unsafe scooter and unreasonable return demands
I purchased an InMotion Climber scooter from Scooter Hut expecting the model advertised on their website, but the one I received was completely different. It came with turn signals and a different control system, which wasnât shown online. The scooter barely accelerates, struggles to reach the stated speed, and feels unsafe to ride. When I asked to return it, I was told Iâd need to record a video of myself riding it before theyâd even consider a return, an unreasonable and unsafe request. Iâve tried to resolve this directly but have been met with delays and dismissive responses. Disappointing experience from whatâs supposed to be a reputable store.

I purchased Kaabo scooters through Scooter Hut and have had ongoing issues with both the Kaabo Mantis and Wolf Warrior. These scooters are made in China, and unfortunately, the warranties are not being honoured properly.
Despite agreeing in writing to a $1,300 warranty arrangement, Scooter Hut has not stood by it. Iâve sent over 50 emails back and forth with both Scooter Hut and Kaabo, and months later the problems remain unresolved.
This is extremely frustrating as customers should be able to trust that a warranty will be honoured when things go wrong. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend avoiding Scooter Hut and Kaabo scooters. Be smart with your money and look elsewhere.
If others are experiencing the same issues, it may be worth exploring a class action to hold them accountable.

Avoid Scooter Hut â Poor Quality, Deceptive Practices, and No Accountability
My experience has been extremely frustrating. I bought an EVADA Trail1200 Pro scooter and the bell broke after just two uses. When I tried to claim under warranty, I was met with endless delays, excuses about ârestructuring,â and zero accountability from either the retailer or the manufacturer.
What most people donât know: Scooter Hut and the manufacturer Evada are not independent companies. My own company searches show they are part of the same corporate group, sharing directors, addresses, and even domain registration. The manufacturer, Evada, is associated with Hut Holdings Pty Ltd. In June 2025, Scooter Hut Pty Ltd changed its name to ACN 135 712 962 PTY LTD, and a new company, Scooter Hut Australia Pty Ltd, was registered just days later. It appears the business was acquired by private equity, with the new owner being Steve Siolis of Directed Electronics Australia. None of this was disclosed to me at the time of purchase.
Why this matters: This means youâre not dealing with a regular retailer, but a vertically integrated business that has a history of dodging warranty claims and after-sales support. The reviews here donât lieâthere are countless stories of customers being ignored, denied refunds, or left with faulty products.
Under Australian Consumer Law, you are entitled to a full refund or replacement if a product is not of merchantable quality or fails soon after purchase. The company you bought from (even if they change their name or ownership) is still responsible for honouring your warranty. If youâre getting the runaround, you can:
Lodge a complaint with your stateâs Fair Trading or Consumer Affairs office
File a claim with QCAT (Queensland) or your local tribunal
My advice: Avoid Scooter Hut at all costs. If youâve already bought from them and are having issues, donât waste time with their customer serviceâgo straight to Fair Trading or your local tribunal. This companyâs business practices are deceptive and their after-sales support is non-existent.
I had a really disappointing experienceâŠ
I had a really disappointing experience with this company before they apparently shut down all their stores. I took my scooter in for what should have been a straightforward issueâa problem with the valve. Not only was it not properly fixed at the time, but now Iâm left with the same issue and no support.
Trying to get it resolved now is absolutely hopeless. Customer service was unhelpful in-store before they closed, and their online support has been just as poorâunresponsive, vague, and basically useless. Nor was I told that all stores would be closing down officially, which the staff would have well and truly known. Completely blindsided by a long standing customer!
Itâs frustrating to have spent good money on a product and service that clearly didnât live up to expectations. I expected better accountability and reliability, especially from a company that used to present itself as a leader in the space. Definitely would not recommend.
