Polite, efficient and knowledgeable
Price was competitive

Very professional and prompt in every aspect - the appointment came through quickly and we didn't have log to wait, we were told it would be complete within an hour and it was, and the report was available within 24hours.

DONT USE If you live in the countryside.
I was having a valuation for remortage on one of my cottages and this company listed it as not to lend on as its near farm buildings. They believe its a limited market yet its 6 miles from Edinburgh Castle and 1.5 miles from Edinburgh City Bypass. The larger house next door had a closing date put on it due to interest and sold for close on a million pounds 12 months ago!
Will never use again for any of my residential portfolio. Ironically my house in Edinburgh looks onto farm buildings so won't be using them for the home report either when I come to sell in the spring!

I am so glad it was not me paying for this valuation, as they clearly value properties WAY below what is a realistic price! They have just carried out a mortgage valuation and said it is at least 10% less than it actually is worth!
Great if you are buying something they have valued, but terrible for sellers!

Kieran made the process very easy for myself and explained exactly what he was going to be doing during the home report. He had it all done in about 20 minutes and then talked me through the next steps. Would thoroughly recommend shepherd’s for any home reports needing done!

If you want your house completely under evaluated and your EPC unreasonably and unrealistically low chose this company…
Did not communicate anything about the checks while “assessing” our home and they evaluated our home way lower than it should have been considering the prices and compared to other similar properties in the area .EPC down from C to F with no reason !!!!
Absolutely joke of a company!
I will most definitely not pay them again !!!!
Save yourself money and stress by NOT choosing these people who are literally taking advantage !

First class service. Keiran Bonner came out as an emergency as home report was out of date and we were moving house the next day. Really nice guy and done the job rapidly. Would highly recommend

We had Steven visit to give a survey of a property we were about to list for sale. We had already had two agents give us a listing valuation of 220k, we showed Steven one of them.
The survey appeared to go well, Steven said it would be online in 24 to 48 hours. Three days later, after I'd emailed his office only not to receive a response, it eventually appeared with the valuation of just 190k, yes 30k lower than the two estate agents!!! No reason was given in the report, everything was marked 1 apart from two 2's for minor items.

Shepherds were great to deal with. Very helpful and valued it exactly where I thought it would be. The home report was thorough and the house sold very quickly. I Would thoroughly recommend them.

Shepherds were easy to deal with. Arranged valuation of house quickly. Craig who carried out the survey was extremely professional and asked a number of questions. Valuation came through quick and within two weeks we have accepted an offer. Would recommend Shepherds in particular Craig who was professional throughout.

Thanks to the team for a quick turnaround and valuation on my grans property that we needed to adjust with her recent move to a care home.

Massive stressed lifted for the family

Update deposit now returned. So your are now threatening me with legal action because I have spoken out & trustpilot wouldn’t remove the review at your request. So did you keep my deposit despite evidence that the issues occurred before I took tenancy? Was I cc’d at times into emails & text that were for insurance documents, tenants & local authorities that had no relevance to myself? Did you ever change the details on the insurance policy when requested? Did you give me two weeks notice instead of 6 months? Did your manager ignore a number of requests from a paying tenant? Have I requested DPO details to no avail? Emails have been ignored & now a multimillion pound company is going to take legal action on a sole trading business that has been unjustly treated because they don’t like her opinion of their service. I have chosen to remove the certain words that are obviously causing offence but the sentiment is still the same. Unprofessional, poor communicators & I personally would never use again. Take what they tell you with a pinch of salt. Who break GDPR rules & regulations. They need to be investigated as they pull the wool over small sole trading businesses to impress their very rich clients. Please do not take any commercial property as they expect you to do major roof repairs, structural work & they keep the small business deposit. Their clients are multimillionaires & Shepherds encourages them to keep the deposits. The manky unfit building they allowed me to rent from 2022 which cost £26,208.21p also roof repair £1200, electric repair before entering building was £350. I left a beautiful shop in pristine condition & they kept my deposit because of a faulty repair they carried out before I moved into the shop in 2022. Plus I paid the insurance on the building at a cost of not far off £1400 when the quotes had been £160 & £204 Hang your heads in shame all that are involved. Photos in google review.

A fantastic and seamless experience for my first time using Shepherds. The surveyor that completed my home report was a gentleman and very fair. After using other Surveyors in the past I can definitely say I will only use shepards from now on!

The team from Shepherd Charted Surveyors were amazing! Very fast service and the guys were very polite and pleasant. Overall I couldn’t be happier with the service provided and would definitely recommend them to friends and family!

Aaron attended to my survey and I cannot thank him enough. The survey showed some damp, but rather than walk out and leave it with me, he advised me to get a damp specialist in to do a separate survey to assess the extent of the damp. It turned out to be a very minor problem which could be easily fixed and the home report reflected this. A previous surveyor had also marked the report as having damp, but wouldn’t help with any advice. I can’t thank Aaron enough for going the extra mile and reduce the stress associated with a house sale.

Extremely poor service. Advised they would call back. Well they don't! No call back from reception or surveyor. Based on this initial contact where a simple call would have been fine, I would not recommend giving them your time or business.

Terrible service, no communication, no response to phone calls to office or mobile or emails. Delayed my house going up for sale for 4 days. Don’t use them.
