Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We take any concerns regarding a vehicle purchase extremely seriously and would always welcome the opportunity to investigate and assist where possible.

However, we have been unable to identify any record of this purchase from approximately two years ago based on the information provided in this review. Given the seriousness of the allegations made regarding the catalytic converter, cambelt and, in particular, the vehicle allegedly being reported stolen, we would be very keen to establish the full details and investigate this properly.

We do feel it is particularly harsh for such serious allegations to be made publicly without first contacting us and giving us the opportunity to investigate and respond. We pride ourselves on providing a professional and transparent service and have always aimed to assist our customers where genuine concerns arise.

For additional reassurance, Signature Car Specialists is Trading Standards Approved, an ADR-approved dealership and an RAC Approved Dealer. We take our responsibilities to our customers extremely seriously and have processes in place to deal with customer concerns and aftersales matters.

We would also ask that you please double-check that you have reviewed the correct business. There are other motor dealerships with similar names, and we would not want a review relating to another dealership to be incorrectly attributed to Signature Car Specialists.

If this vehicle was purchased from us, we would genuinely like the opportunity to investigate the matter. Please contact our Aftersales Team directly on 01282 777786 or email sales@signaturecarspecialists.co.uk providing the vehicle registration number, approximate purchase date and any relevant documentation or information you have available.

We will then investigate the matter properly and do our best to assist.

Our approach has always been to let the vehicle and the information speak for themselves. No pushy sales, no pressure, no rushing anyone towards a decision — just a warm welcome, honest answers to every question, and all the time you need to satisfy yourself that a car is the right one. Buying a car should be an enjoyable experience, not a stressful one, and it matters to us that people leave feeling they made an informed choice entirely on their own terms.

We're very much a family environment here, and every customer who walks through the door is treated with the same courtesy and respect. Knowing you were travelling around 45 minutes to see us, it was only right that we stayed flexible on timings and kept you fully in the loop throughout — we know how much of your day that represents.

A great deal of effort goes in long before a car is advertised, too. We're careful and selective about the stock we source, because starting with genuinely good quality vehicles is half the battle. Every car is then fully prepared and put through a detailed 82-point inspection, and each one comes with an RAC inspection, RAC warranty and RAC breakdown cover, so that nothing is left to chance. We also add our own aftermarket kit, which really does enhance the vehicle, and it's always pleasing when customers appreciate those finishing touches. It's all part of doing the hard work up front so the car is simply ready to be enjoyed.

That you'd recommend us to your family and friends is the highest compliment we could hope for, and we're truly thankful for it.

Our view has always been that a good car speaks for itself, and the very best thing we can do is hand over the keys, answer every question honestly and then give people the time and space to make an informed decision entirely in their own time. Aby will be delighted to read your comments — that's precisely the standard we set ourselves, and it's lovely to see it recognised.

We're very selective about the stock we source in the first place, because starting with genuinely good quality vehicles makes everything that follows easier. From there, every car goes through a thorough preparation process, including our comprehensive 82-point check, along with an RAC inspection, RAC warranty and RAC breakdown cover. We do all the hard work up front so that by the time a customer sees a car, everything has already been looked at, sorted and signed off. Our aftermarket kit is part of that too, and we were really pleased to carbon fibre wrap the aluminium door and dash inserts for you — those finishing touches genuinely enhance the car, and on an X6 M40 they must look superb.

We're a family environment here and every customer is treated with the same respect and care, from the first phone call right through the handover, the aftersales care package and the little practical bits like getting the road tax sorted. None of it should feel like hard work for you.

It's lovely to read that the 435d found you rather than the other way around. Adam knows the stock inside out and he'd never steer someone towards a car simply because it's sitting on the forecourt that day — if he felt something better suited was being prepped and worth the wait, then that's exactly the honest advice we want our customers to get. Sometimes the right car is the one you weren't originally looking at, and being told that straight is worth far more than a quick sale.

The Champagne Quartz 435d is a stunning thing, and we're delighted the condition made the impression it did. That's very deliberate on our part. We're extremely selective about the stock we source in the first place, because starting with genuinely good quality vehicles is half the battle, and every car then goes through our full preparation process and comprehensive 82-point check, alongside an RAC inspection, RAC warranty and RAC breakdown cover. Add our aftermarket kit, which is chosen specifically because it enhances the car, and the aim is that by the time you set eyes on it, all the hard work has already been done. Hearing that it still blows you away every time you look at it tells us we got that right.

The relaxed atmosphere you describe is very much who we are. Having paid a deposit and agreed a collection time, you were entitled to expect the car to be there when you arrived, and a 240 mile round trip makes the disappointment considerably worse. I'm sorry for the time, the cost and the frustration this caused you.

This is not how we want to do business and I'm looking into it internally so we can be certain it isn't repeated.

Thank you for setting this out so fairly, and I'm sorry. You paid to reserve the car, the listing showed it as reserved, and Adam confirmed your appointment for the following day. On that basis you drove two hours expecting to view and test drive a vehicle that was being held for you. Finding it had been sold to someone else is indefensible, and I'm not going to try to defend it.

I'm equally sorry that no proper explanation was offered on the day and that you were left without an answer afterwards. Pointing elsewhere isn't good enough. The reservation was taken by us and the responsibility for honouring it sat with us.

I've taken this away to fix how reserved vehicles are held and how that is communicated between our team, so that a confirmed reservation genuinely means the car is off sale to anyone else.

I would like to make this right for you. Please contact me at the showroom and ask for Paul, or email sales@signaturecarspecialists.co.uk, and I'll handle it personally — starting with confirming your £99 has been returned and covering what the wasted trip cost you.
