Without doubt the worst experience

At no point did you ask me to return the vehicle, you agreed to me having the diagnostics done at my local garage and you were sent the full report.
Your issue is that you wanted to fix it 'on the cheap' using 2nd hand parts of unknown origin. That was not acceptable to me, the customer. It is your obligation under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 to ensure that repairs are carried out in a timely manner and to a reasonable standard.
You agreed, verbally, to cover the cost of repairs "as long as it was reasonable.
The costs were very reasonable, you just didn't like the fact that it was more than you'd have tried to get away with on the cheap. These repairs would ultimately have failed again far sooner than if it were fixed properly the first time.
The fact remains that you did zero preparation on the vehicle beyond a new MOT and charged me £199 for "Vehicle Preparation".
I am c.£300 out of pocket, plus the £199 fee because of your shortcomings after paying you £8,200 for a car that SHOULD have been free of faults and wasn't.
You cannot justify it in any way.

Without doubt the worst experience I've ever had buying a car from a dealer. For context I've bought around 30 cars from dealers over the years.
Zero interest once they've had your money. If things go wrong, even immediately after purchase, it's not their problem.
They ignore you, give you the run-around, deny any responsibility, even if it is clearly their fault.
However nice the car is, avoid this dealer. There are plenty of good, reputable dealers out there who value their business.

We’re sorry to read your review, as it does not reflect the experience we aim to provide or our recollection of this case.

We take all aftersales concerns seriously and never ignore genuine issues. In your case, we responded to your communications and asked for the vehicle to be returned to us so that we could inspect and diagnose the concern, which is standard practice under our warranty and consumer obligations.

Unfortunately, before giving us the opportunity to assess the vehicle, you chose to authorise extensive repairs elsewhere without our approval and then presented us with a bill of around £1,000, demanding full reimbursement. The part in question could have been supplied by us for approximately £160, and the complete repair carried out in-house for under £300. We therefore could not reasonably accept liability for costs that we had no opportunity to control or authorise.

We appreciate that vehicle issues are frustrating, but we believe disputes are best resolved through communication and cooperation. We remain confident that we acted reasonably throughout and wish you all the best going forward.

Although very helpful and friendly until you have an issue

Although very helpful and friendly staff and atmosphere, when you have a problem then not so helpful. Cars has gone back 3 times for 2 separate issues, rattle from the engine, mechanic says it’s fine, tried to reject the car they are insisting on a CPR 35 inspection which is only needed when a case goes to court, taking car to dealer for a proper diagnostic, trading standards are involved

We’re disappointed to read your review, as it does not reflect the full circumstances of this matter.

From the outset, we’ve made every effort to investigate the concerns you have raised. The vehicle has been returned to us on multiple occasions, and each time our qualified technicians have thoroughly inspected it. Despite your concerns regarding an engine rattle, no fault has been identified that would indicate the vehicle is defective.

We understand that you have chosen to obtain a further opinion from a main dealer, and we are happy to consider any evidence they provide. We have never refused to investigate the matter or fulfil our legal obligations.

With regard to the independent inspection, we have simply requested an impartial expert assessment to establish the facts where there is a disagreement over whether a fault exists. This is intended to protect both parties and help bring the matter to a fair conclusion. It is not an attempt to avoid our responsibilities.

We appreciate that this situation has been frustrating, but we remain committed to resolving it fairly and professionally based on the available evidence. We will continue to cooperate with all relevant parties, including Trading Standards if required.

Spent a lot of time looking at different cars, then came across BAV motor company. Travelled up to look at the car and was able to test drive myself. Really helpful guys, no pushy sales tactics. Also offered us back to fix a small issue on door handle as needed the car asap. Would definitely recommend. Great selection of cars and very friendly customer service

Fantastic company!

Fantastic company! Bought my first car from BAV Motors, and I was so nervous at first. They made everything so easy and simple, I highly recommend.

I was very impressed that they wouldn't sell me a car that had a minor fault (sunroof issue) until they fixed it, which they did! I would 100% use this company again, thank you! ❀
