Snapchat used to be a fun, creative, and personal way to capture moments, but unfortunately, it has gone downhill—and the biggest reason is how poorly it now handles Memories.

One of Snapchat’s best features was the ability to save memories easily and reliably. It gave users peace of mind knowing their photos and videos were safely stored and could be revisited anytime. Now, that trust is gone. Memories don’t save properly, features are limited, and users are left worrying about losing important moments forever. For an app built around capturing memories, this is a huge failure.

What makes it worse is that Snapchat offers little to no clear explanation or effective support. Updates seem more focused on ads, subscriptions, and unnecessary features rather than fixing core problems that users actually care about. Losing personal memories isn’t a small inconvenience—it’s a dealbreaker.

Snapchat has forgotten what made it special in the first place. If you can’t rely on an app to save your memories, then what’s the point of using it at all? Until this issue is seriously addressed, Snapchat no longer deserves its reputation as a go-to social media platform.

Maximal unverschämt. Jahre lang sammelt man Fotos, Videos, Erinnerungen etc. nur um jetzt gezwungen zu werden Geld zu bezahlen damit Tausende von Fotos etc. nicht gelöscht werden?! Eine absolut bodenlose Frechheit.

Ich habe Snapchat immer gemocht und benutze es nun schon seit 4 Jahren, aber seit dem ich 3,99 für den Speicherplatz zahlen soll, überlege ich wirklich es zu löschen. Enttäuschend!

i only really used it for the storage/ memories (you could have as many as you wanted with no issue) but recently they've put a 5GB rule in meaning if you have more than 5GB worth on memories your most recent ones will be deleted in a month they need to remove this rule!!!

They have started charging people for their memories , their greed disgusts me and other snapchat users that have had snapchat for years and now are being charged money to have memories that the app is used mostely for. This is not only selfish but so greedy to think they are making people pay to have memories. disgusting pigs.

What kind of greedy people make you pay for your own pictures and memories that you’ve had for 10 years with no problem. And who even wasted money on Snapchat anyway? What a joke. Will be deleting and hope people are smart enough too do the same and you lose money instead of make it. Download the photos and don’t waste your hard earned money people!

They’re so greedy it’s insane. Making people pay for their memories that they’ve had for years is disgusting. I deleted pictures to get under the storage limit and it worked and then a few hours later it said I was over it again when I didn’t even take any pictures. Such a scam. The app is only good for pictures so hope your shit idea makes ur app fail

I’ve used Snapchat for over 10 years and you’re going to delete my memories , my childhood memories because I won’t pay x amount a dollars ? Unbelievable, it will absolutely make this hard for me to use Snapchat in the future , awful greed

Snapchat has completely lost the plot. Years of pushing “unlimited Memories,” encouraging people to upload their whole lives, and then suddenly locking storage behind a paywall with barely any warning. This was clearly a planned, money-hungry bait-and-switch. Hook users emotionally, then charge them to keep their own memories. Absolutely vile.

And let’s be real — what is anyone even meant to use this app for now? Messaging? Instagram does it better. Chats? iMessage exists. Stories? Again, Instagram. The ONLY reason most people stayed was for the snaps and memories, and now you’re charging for that too.

You’ve taken the one thing that made this app worth using and turned it into a cash grab. Greedy, desperate, and honestly embarrassing. Snapchat sold out completely.

Why are they making us pay for our own memories? Absolutely ludicrous. No point even having snap since that was the only thing its good for. If they want me to pay for my own data then bye bye snap. Greedy moneymakers

Echt een slechte geldklopperij app is het. Voor alles moet je tegenwoordig betalen (ook voor je herinneringen) wat ik echt ONZIN vindt. En snapchat is zo onveilig vind ik voor kinderen. Er staan soms zulke rare en heftige verhalen langs bij verkennen & voor jou. Het zou het beste zijn als iedereen deze app zou verwijderen en snapchat geen mensen meer heeft. Snapchat Do Better. Niet iedereen heeft elke maand geld voor dingen waarvoor je niet hoefde te betalen voor een maand geleden. Jullie snijden jezelf in de vinger.
