This was not a straight-forward order as I wanted a desk that fitted into a bay window, had a curved surface at the front and had a sit/stand mechanism. Joe supported me through the ordering process, making all the admin simple and providing advice and knowledgable insight at every stage. I cold not recommend more highly.

Sent Solid Wood Tops a plan of the desktop I needed. They were able to connect me with a bespoke furniture maker who built a great desktop to my specifications.

Buying custom built anything online is always concerning but getting my custom desktop was made very easy. Both the vendor and manufacturer got in touch to make sure we got the right finish and I am very pleased with the results.

The work showing on the website looks very professional and I decided to get a custom desk top for the frame I purchased.
I have been trying to contact them to get a quote for a custom worktop since beginning of February & several occasions after that. But nothing back from them. This is very dissappointing.
Strangely all the Customer Gallery photos are the same ones as the ones previously showing on sitstanddesktops.co.uk which is no longer trading.
Update 7/4/2023: Thank you for your response. I have checked again for the 8/3/2023 in both my inbox and junk mail however there is nothing from solidwoodtops. I will try to submit as per your suggestion & hopefully we can get this forward. Thanks.
Update 1/5/2023: So Joe from Solid Wood Tops found some workaround to get in touch with me until we got the email issue sorted. His response to my queries regarding my project was very quick. And found the partner to accomodate my custom top. Really appreciate his effort and patience. The website is not the easiest to navigate but there is a lot great information on the website. In light of the above I have changed my rating to 5 star and will definitely in touch again if I have a new project. Can't wait for the wood top to be delivered. Thank you Joe & all the best.

Needed some solid wood for a home build, and nothing in B&Q was big enough. I stumbled across Solid Wood Tops and took a gamble. Adding in my desired specs was easy peasy and the guide price they gave out was almost £200 below another quote I'd had.
Less than 2 days later my specs had been matched with one of their suppliers, who called me direct to confirm details, email me colour options and send me an invoice. Despite a lead time of 5 weeks, I had my desk top in just under 2 weeks, as their supplier happened to be in the area. Easy from start to finish. Very happy with the quality.

This profile has been combined with that for sitstanddesktops.co.uk, but strangely at present, that web address still works, while solidwoodtops.co.uk goes to a blank page.

I orded a desktop with Sitstanddesktops back in September and after multiple delays I have been informed that they have ceased trading.

Sitstanddesktops is a trading name of Thereallygoodoakshop, and any potential buyers should be aware of the multiple bad reviews on trustpilot for that company, who all had the same experience as me - money taken, long delays, false promises of delivery and never actually receiving the goods.

Update: Contrary to the comment below, I had to claim a refund from my bank as the company had entered administration, and no refund was forthcoming.

I ordered 2 Idasen-compatible pine desktops, they hand delivered them themselves right on time, a nice touch as there is no risk of damage or other issues with 3rd party couriers. Great communication throughout. The desktops are great, high quality and perfectly finished!

The best custom desktops in the UK, hands down. The lead times on the wood are somewhat long but are well communicated and updated, meaning one can plan around it. In my case they were observed and adhered to quite well.

The deliveries are indeed personalized and done by hand with great flexibility and ample warning. The sizing and different finishes on offer should be enough for most cases and it's the closest I can think one can get to a truly personalized desktop. One note on the customization, however - if you're asking for some after the fact and have several desktops on order make sure to communicate which one to apply it to so there's no misunderstanding.

The quality itself is top-notch, easily the best desktop I've touched in my life. All in all I'll definitely repeat a purchase if the time comes and will recommend this ship to other people that ask me.

Superb solid oak corner desk, perfectly made to my exact requirements! Extremely pleased with the quality and finish of this desk top.

A long lead time (which I was warned of at point of order), but good communication throughout and a very helpful, pleasant delivery man who kindly agreed to help me carry the desk top across my garden to my distant garden office!

The measurements, the customisations, the price, everything was unbeatable compared to anything else I could find. I'm pleased with how my desk turned out. The customer service is also great, from making an order, through delivery, to support in making sure the desk will last.

Couldn't be happier with the quality of the desk top. We choose beechwood for my partner's new desk top as she wanted a slightly bigger top than the current desk so she could have the computer a little further away. We went for rounded corners too and it looks absolutely stunning. The quality of the wood is beautiful. We went with the unfinished option then I've just put a whitewash wax on it and it's come up absolutely lovely. Very happy indeed and definitely would recommend

I ordered a custom-sized Oak work top from here and couldn't be happier with the service level and quality of workmanship.

Website was easy to navigate, gave good examples of types of finish and colour, and clear with pricing structures.

Long lead-times are to be expected for quality materials, and they were prompt in keeping up-to-date with schedules the whole way.

I have just received my brilliant desk for an awkward space. The service was excellent, even coming to collect a template I had made to ensure that the desk was a perfect fit. Can't recommend highly enough!
