If I could give this a negative, I would. Soundtrap is like one of those pay to win games where, in order for you to get better at the game you need to pay more and more as time goes on and more of your freedom in the game just dissipates overtime as more features are getting less accessible. Take it from me, whose been using this garbage for about 5 years and overtime seen it get so utterly shit that I'm better of doing music in something way better such as Bandlab. Telling you now, if you are considering using this actual filth, eradicate that thought from your mind's existence and don't waste your precious time.

I just started making music, and if I had known anything about DAWs beforehand, I would have avoided Soundtrap entirely. Unfortunately, I bought a $19 subscription and only realized afterward how buggy and low-quality the experience is. I understand that I’m still learning, but I shouldn’t have to clear my browser cache every couple of minutes just to get basic features like the snap grid to work properly, despite using high-end hardware (RTX 4090, Intel i9) and a fast, stable internet connection.

For $19 a month, I expect functional software, not constant glitches and unreliable tools. On top of that, applying effects is inconsistent. Effects are often applied to the wrong track. I’ve tested this multiple times, and it is not user error.

Overall, the instruments sound low quality, the software is unstable, and the experience is most often frustrating rather than creative. If I could leave a zero-star review, I would. Thanks a lot, soundtrap.

created a 10 minute long piece of music. i double checked that i saved and closed the tab. when i went back there was nothing there. so many bugs.

There are a lot of bugs, and its just clanky to use overall.

Would give this 0 stars if I could. I used this for a school music project and there were major issues from the start and it was really inefficient; I couldn't change the volume or anything and all the instruments sounded weird. However, the biggest issue was that on the DAY OF SUBMISSION, I came back to review all of my work - which was basically fully done by now - and this website said suddenly that I CAN'T LOGIN to MY account, which means I'm locked out of all my music work worth half my grade with 3 hours to restart a 2 month project. It took me half an hour that I could have spent working to recover my account, all the while I was freaking out about restarting. Highly recommend fixing instrument quality and access, as for users, try something else.
Edit: Nevermind, apparently blocking my account and just telling me to 'try again later' without any explaination or apology is not enough, now, I can't access my own music either and I'm wasting over an hour on this website when I could have been done somewhere else by now. Seriously don't recommend.

if I could give this site zero stars I would, ever since my free trial they've been trying to take 189 quid from me even though I literally cancelled the subscription the day my trial ended

"Beginner friendly" but the program purely relies on its built in loops. Instruments are low quality and the UI is poorly designed. If you want to learn how to make music, just get the free trial for FL Studio (or crack it 👀)

it's a trap, they don't allow you to download the file you made

It acts as if it's the best music production software in the wolrd, but, in reality it isn't. I had to submit a track for an assessment, but after 7 hours of hard work, the track couldn't be saved due to a malfunction in the soundtrap software, and i had to redo the whole thing, but still it didn't work. After redoing for about 10 times, me and my brother gave up, and had to re-record our entire track and make some edits on our own. It's a waste of time signing in to it. I advise you not to use such useless products. Also it tells that it auto saves, but in reality it doesn't.

I actually find it very good value and especially good for beginners like me. However playing back at medium or high quality is almost impossible..it glitches all over the place. I’ve tried more powerful PCs…makes no difference. I have to export it to a file to listen back properly which can’t be right?

This website has been trying to charge me £117 every single day since my free trial membership ended, even though I had downgraded to free well before the end. - I had contacted them via email and no response. - They have now been able to take my money and I will be filing a chargeback.

what the hell happend to the older stuff you made your own platform bad now in the older you got to choose any pitch 1 2 and so on to 12 now theres only 2 options 1 And 12 what happend to 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 and where is the effects tab please return these actions

This site deletes progress despite claiming it saved it properly. All I did was reload the page after it sped up and glitched for no reason.

What I love about Sound-trap is the sound packs that it comes with as a paying customer and how easy it is to utilize. What I do not like is the fact that the published sound quality is far from the sound quality in the actual DAW making anything you create sound muffled and distorted in the final published project which is mainly bc it is so compressed that you have to double up on almost everything melody or drum wise or else it sounds super compressed and distorted and even then the sound quality still isn't professional therefore making your creative process almost pointless when your published version sounds trash compared to how it sounds in the actual DAW therefore it is a real trap.

I love this website and it's not a scam. It's inexpensive and works well, even on a free plan. The only thing I'd ask to change is that, when I finish a project and save + export it, that it actually exports the whole new file as it is. I was downloading my new project while already deleting the old files on my PC and because I moved & deleted stuff my exported filed showed up as incomplete. I believe that is unacceptable, what I do on my laptop is separate from the Soundtrap app, so I don't know why deleting files on my PC should influence my exports? It's really frustrating because due to this issue I have to restart my entire project. Please fix this nonsense. Thank you.

SCAM! I signed up for free trial and even though I cancelled it before it got taken off they charged me £177. I am now left with no money.

SOUNDTRAP is the most confusing piece of shit i have ever used. Also, it is very laggy and the sounds are low quality. DONT USE!

I see a lot of bad reviews but my experience was very different. Scotti from the support team helped me a ton & got me a refund within 48 hours. I got quick responses & everything went pretty smoothly. No BS & straight to the point. 👍
