All my audio samples got lost in a migration , would have been easy to state how to move those. I love the workflow, but hate them for not saying . 10 years of songwriting in the toilet . Inexcusableton

I don't understand so many bad reviews. I use Ableton, not professionally, but it has been amazing.

I feel like it's impossible to work in Ableton because the shortcuts are so horrendous.
You wanna play your song from the beginning? Yeah, they make that as difficult as possible.
You wanna record? You need both hands for that one, can't be ready at the piano.
You wanna comp your midi piano? The lanes make the track go grey. You're now in Ableton comping hell.

I hate Ableton and I hope to one day love it after spending 700$ buying it..

Remorseless company with a desire so corporate you'd forget music making is an art. I tried to download the trial of Ableton 12 and was charged £99 for it, with a refusal to refund me. Stay well clear of Ableton products and you won't have to go through the hellscape that is the customer service.

I had an issue where I had purchased Ableton 11 Suite, then 12 came out shortly after. When I upgraded to 12 Standard, it turned out to be the same price as before to upgrade to 12 Suite (like $400). I felt screwed over, reached out to Ableton support, and got an apology! They upgraded me. Saw they only had 2 stars here, and that surprised me, given that support experience.

Ableton 3 Push Standalone - i bought this piece of hardware, very expensive, and I was expecting to have at least some amount of fun playing it. But no, there are no demo projects, just one song that is not playable interactively. I was expecting to play kaskobi projects, but no, they are require Ableton Suite which is 500$ additionally. Mobile apps like Remixlive provide this fun experience for free, but with ableton after paying $2k I am supposed to spend hours understanding and configuring playable project just to have 30 seconds of fun! Total disappointment.

Had a lot of encounters with their support team, and they have never let me down. At times it can take a while to get an answer, but you get one and it’s from a human.

Ableton Live 12 ist (nicht) mit den meisten VST Plug Ins Kompatibel, ich habe ständig Probleme wenn ich Plug Ins verwende und ein abgespeichertes/angefangenes Projekt wieder öffnen möchte.
Ableton Live 12 öffnet dann das abgespeicherte/angefangene Projekt einfach nicht mehr. Ableton Live 12 ist somit (nicht) für Professionelle Musikproduktionen einsatzbereit. Weil die Plug Ins such Funktion sehr mangelhaft ist. Deswegen werde ich zu Cubase wechseln müssen, Cubase ist momentan sogar im Angebot.

my akai keyboard came with ableton and it was cool but when i went on it i had no clue how to use it i thought it would have a totorial but nothing and all the youtube totourials were useless

genuinely awful, nothing works half the time and ive spent more time trying to fix software bugs than actually writing music, its a dysfunctional piece of shit and i recommend no one ever buy it honestly.

Ich habe mir auf die Ableton Live Suite 12 upgedated. In der neuen Version sind die Hüllkurven grundsätzlich nur sichtbar, wenn man sie in der Ansicht aktiviert. Dies gilt leider nicht global, sondern man muss es für jeden einzelnen Track machen. Ein unglaublich lästiger und zeitraubender Aufwand, der mich in der Theaterarbeit sehr behindert. Ausserdem führt das drag&drop von Tracks wieder zu vielen Warpfehlern, ich muss sehr oft die Tracks wieder neu mit der richtigen BPM versehen. Da sind noch eine Menge Fehler in der Software auszumerzen.

I originally was an FL Studio user but made the switch to Live a year or so ago, I ended up buying a Push 3 controller and Move. Unfortunately the Push 3 had a weird 'bubble' or 'lump' in the scale button, and move had a stuck pad. Ableton support gave honestly some of the best customer support I've ever had, they were super helpful and fast, ended up getting the 2nd push replaced due to a misprint on one of the buttons, but all is good now thanks to Ableton's great support.

I bought 12 Standard for my daughter who needs it for her college course. Unfortunately we've just found out that she needed the full suite version so she can take work home from college.
They are unwilling to offer the EDU discount on upgrades.

No flexibility whatsoever, so much for supporting students using their software.

Ich bin seit über 20 Jahren treuer Ableton-Kunde und habe Software, Erweiterungen und Hardware bei ihnen gekauft. Doch mein letzter Kauf – der neue Ableton Move – wurde zum absoluten Tiefpunkt in Sachen Kundenservice.

Am 7. April 2025 habe ich fristgerecht den Widerruf des Kaufs erklärt (Bestellung 11478889, Rechnung 3714000). Ableton verlangt laut AGB, das Produkt nicht ohne Rücksprache zurückzuschicken – und genau das wurde mir zum Verhängnis:

Trotz mehrfacher E-Mails und Ticketnummer (3017809) bekam ich in 9 Tagen nicht eine einzige menschliche Antwort, nur automatische Standardmails. Keine Rücksendeadresse, keine Rückerstattung, keine Reaktion.

So behandelt man keinen zahlenden Kunden – schon gar nicht nach Jahrzehnten der Loyalität. Ableton mag gute Software machen, aber als Hardware-Händler sind sie komplett überfordert.

Ich erwarte immer noch eine Rückmeldung – und eine Entschuldigung. Bis dahin bleibt diese Bewertung bestehen.

Habe am Montag ein Move bestellt. Am Mittwoch heißt es von DHL, dass das Gerät nicht zugestellt werden kann (es wurde Packstation statt Postfiliale) angegben.

Ogni singola azione è un costante CRASH e non fanno NIENTE, ma NIENTE, da mesi e mesi. Non capisco perché lo vendano così tanto perché è orrendo e totalmente contro intuitivo. Non si capisce niente dell'interfaccia e ad ogni singolo click di qualsiasi cosa CRASHA.

I bought their Push Standalone, intended for use in live performances and every time I have used this device live, it has crashed mid-performance.

I contacted Ableton about this, only after several weeks did I get a response. They then told me they know about the issue but have no solution, they say they are working on it but after several months, I still get no update and every time I'm in contact with them, all replies take several weeks and little of value is added.

Basically, the midi on the device is broken, they offer no solution, no compensation, hardly any updates, no plan for when this will be fixed and horrible costumer service.
