Speke Travel and Tim in particular have been great and have helped us arrange an amazing trip to go on safari and see Victoria Falls. I used them on the recommendation of a friend who they'd also helped and I don't regret it. Everything was arranged for us and the pick ups and travel was seamless. As someone who usually organises their own travel it was so nice not have to think of all of these headaches. All of the accommodation arranged was fantastic. Tim was also really responsive while we were away (when I was regretting not upgrading the flights from economy seats and when our BA flight home was cancelled on a Saturday evening). My only criticism was not getting advice on available activities for Vic Falls but that was my fault as well and I could have got it from the hotel where I was staying. Wish I could use them for all of my holidays and I'll be contacting them again when I want to arrange my next safari trip (I've got the taste for it now).

We found Speke through a letter to the Travel Doctor at The Times. From first contact to last, Emma was a delight to deal with. She arranged the most magical honeymoon trip for us: Victoria Falls, Chobe River Safari and finally Chora Camp in the Okavango Delta. Everything was perfect. Our hosts on holiday were endlessly helpful and accommodating. We had never considered Botswana until Emma suggested it and we are so glad she did.

We came across Speke Travel via Google and are so glad we did. From the initial enquiry regarding our thoughts for a Special trip to celebrate a few milestone birthdays, Emma was highly communicative. She took time to understand our requirements, particularly as our daughter has learning disabilities and is neurodiverse. She created the most magical trip covering Cape Town, 2 safari lodges in Botswana and then into Zimbabwe for the Victoria Falls. She suggested itineraries, accommodation and activities. She took time to listen to us. Ahead of the trip Emma provided the most comprehensive travel guides for the 3 countries, answered our numerous questions, gave guidance on visas and was able to prebook activities in both Cape Town and Victoria Falls. We were also very impressed with the support and level of service from their ground agents in the countries.
We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Speke Travel to friends or to use them again for another African adventure.

Tim created an itinerary for us to self-drive through Namibia and then another trip for Victoria Falls with a day trip to Botswana and continuing on to Kruger / Manyeleti in South Africa. I really appreciated the clear, responsive, and transparent communication as we were planning - Tim was always flexible and gave us great recommendations (which I'm really glad we adopted). The planning led to a fantastic trip - we had so many highlights it was hard to choose the best ones! We had great support by the ground agents, too. Wouldn't hesitate to go again and recommend Speke Travel to others!

I am very happy to recommend Speke Travel. My family of 8 – grandparent, 3 grandsons from age 12 up and 4 adults have just returned from a fabulous trip to Vic Falls and then three lodges in Botswana. We all enjoyed it immensely and in addition to the Big Four of Botswana, were treated to some fantastic sights including a Black Mamba going to a watering hole and drinking and Wild Dogs. Obviously, as our guides pointed out, we were incredibly lucky but having excellent guides also helped. Tim was a delight to deal with, being both extremely knowledgeable and very approachable. He was at pains to understand what we were looking for and in some cases, help us to know what we wanted and then delivered on it superbly. He is very concerned that the guiding is good and we saw a phenomenal number of animals.
He was happy for changes to be made as we tweaked things, providing a totally tailor made experience and facilitated our enjoyment of the trip by providing a lot of information specific to the country we were going to and then would happily answer and indeed encourage questions right up until we went. At no time did I have to chase him up on anything. We are already recommending him to others. Thank you Tim and Emma for a fantastic time.

We have just returned from a 10 day trip to Namibia which Tim helped us plan.

Wow! What an adventure! Tim found out exactly what we were looking to do and recommended the very best itinerary. The lodges and accommodation he recommended were absolutely perfect in every way. I can not fault them. He also helped us find and book activities to do in all the places, being very honest about which ones were worth doing etc.

The amount of detail he provided, the assistance he gave and the App provided for the trip were first class.

We had an incredible experience with Speke Travel arranging our family trip to Namibia. Emma and Tim are true experts in their field and created the perfect family-friendly itinerary for us, travelling with two young children.

Emma really embraced the challenge of designing a bespoke itinerary that suited both our budget and our family, and she absolutely delivered. Every detail was taken care of, from arranging our car hire (which was dropped directly to our accommodation) to providing maps, route guidance and practical advice, making the entire trip completely seamless.

Every lodge they selected was unique and special. They also arranged our excursions, and the Living Desert Tour was one of the highlights of our trip.

The level of care before we travelled was exceptional. Emma provided a comprehensive travel guide with everything we needed to know, including country information, visa guidance, packing lists, restaurant recommendations and suggested coffee and lunch stops along our route. She also advised us on dietary requirements and scheduled a call before we left to talk through the itinerary and answer any last-minute questions, which gave us great confidence before travelling.

If you’re looking for a truly bespoke holiday, I couldn’t recommend Speke Travel highly enough. Their knowledge, attention to detail and personal service made our Namibia adventure unforgettable.

We recently travelled with Speke to South Africa. Knowing nothing about the country we left it to Emma to plan our itinerary. The trip was AMAZING. Perfectly planned and explained before we left, every accommodation choice was spectacular, and the itinerary delivered everything we had asked for and more. I could not rate the company or the service highly enough!

We have just returned from a fabulous and very memorable holiday to northern and eastern South Africa and also Eswatini. Emma was great from start to finish with her recommendations and also her flexibility to accommodate our wishes. She also gave brilliant advice. We have just returned from a holiday in Victoria Falls and two safari lodges in Botswana, organised for us by Speke, and they did an abolutely great job. I had never done safari before and just found them via Google and called to have a chat, and Tim was incredibly helpful. He made great suggestions about where to stay, time of year, and order in whcih to visit places. And when we wanted to try and alter the timeplan and a couple ofthe lodges, he was really proactive and flexible in suggesting alternatives. He also responded quickly and positively to various email queries as we worked out the finer details, and even remembered to wish us bon voyage just before we left! I would recommend Speke Travel wholeheartedly to give you a really tailor-made safari experience.

We arranged a trip to Botswana which involved a trip to Victoria Falls and three smallish lodges for a couple with some disabilities.
Tim sorted our a practical and varied trip with assistance where required which involved transfers at every point and rooms near the dining area at lodges.
Everything went smoothly, partly due o his understanding of what we were capable of. Would recommend his service to anyone wanting a safari off the standard tour route and avoiding big hotels or groups. The lodges and game drives were excellent

After many years of working with various travel agents for Africa, I reached out to Tim Perry at Speke Travel with our dates and specific needs. From the start, he understood exactly what we were looking for and responded promptly and thoughtfully with an itinerary that immediately excited us.

Tim recommended accommodations that were perfectly suited to our family, and our weeklong trip to South Africa was exceptional. Given that my children have food allergies, Tim proactively coordinated with the lodge in the Eastern Cape to ensure they were informed well in advance.

Tim was truly exceptional. His ability to understand his clients’ needs is a genuine gift. He offered practical, insightful advice when needed, and working with him was an absolute pleasure. We would not hesitate to recommend him to our friends and look forward to working with him again.

Every aspect was wonderful- so smooth and easy.

The car hire and driving was a breeze and all the accommodation was amazing.
Spitzkoppe ended up being one of the highlights which was recommended by Tim.
Ending with the dark skies was spectacular so a wonderful idea to travel anti-clockwise to end the trip in the desert with the new moon.

We also hadn’t expected all the wee touches to make our honeymoon so special- informing all the lodges it was our honeymoon was not expected but all did nice gestures that made it so special for us.

We had an unforgettable time and couldn’t recommend Speke more for how easy and stress free the entire process was.

I'm so glad we came across Tim and Speke Travel on google. We couldn't have asked for a better holiday to Tanzania and Zanzibar thanks to Tim's planning and advice; he listened to what we wanted and planned our trip perfectly, well within our budget but without cutting corners anywhere. When our journey home was delayed he was available to advise on the phone, even on a Sunday evening! We are about to contact him again to arrange another trip to Africa next year, we have such confidence in him and would recommend him to everyone.

Tim planned a 2.5 week trip across Namibia for our family including two young toddlers (Age 2 and 4).
