I couldn’t be happier with my experience with this steel door company. From start to finish, the service was professional, efficient, and truly top-notch. Tyler, Rob, and Olle came to fit the door, and they did a brilliant job. They were professional, efficient, and very courteous throughout the entire installation. I’m extremely pleased with the quality of the door and the excellent service provided. Highly recommend!

We ordered a glass and steel door recently and the whole process could not have been simpler. There was no issue over the fact that the wall and door frame wasn’t straight and as promised the door was delivered and fitted before Christmas.

Tyler and Ollie arrived and fitted the door quickly and efficiently, dealing with any minor issues such as the trim being black and not the same RAL colour as the door itself in an efficient and friendly manner. They were both such nice lads and a joy to have working with us albeit briefly.

We would definitely use The Steel Door Company again.

Installation was for a pair of glazed internal doors to the day room from the entrance hall, exceptional product exceeded our expectations and is now a show piece. The general approach from the 'back' office was very professional at all times we were kept informed. What also stood out was the installation team, slick, clean and effortless. Highly recommended.

I contacted this company for a quote for two double doors and one single door. The quote I received was over £21,000, which came as a surprise because their website advertises “made-to-measure fire rated steel doors” for £3,400 including taxes with no indication that this is a starting price or limited to very specific dimensions.
To ensure I wasn’t misunderstanding the information, I went back to the website and was able to add a “Fire Rated Steel Door FD30 Glass Fire Doors Made To Measure” to my cart for £3,400, tax included. The screenshot attached clearly shows this, with no disclaimer about size restrictions, starting prices, or additional costs. The website even allows checkout at this price, which naturally leads customers to believe this is the genuine cost of a made-to-measure fire rated door.
When I called the company to politely clarify the huge discrepancy between the online price and the £21,000 quote, the initial representative transferred me to someone senior possibly the manager or owner, though he did not identify himself. Unfortunately, the conversation quickly turned unprofessional.
Rather than listening to my concern about the website being misleading, he immediately became defensive and dismissive. He accused me of attempting to purchase the doors online at the lower price, despite my clear explanation that I was simply trying to understand why the quoted price was so much higher than the advertised one. When I pointed out that the website allows customers to check out a made-to-measure FD30 door for £3,400 (as shown in my screenshot), he became abrupt, irritated, and stated that I was “not a good fit” and that the company would not be working with me.
His tone was unnecessarily rude and entirely disproportionate to the situation. I was not disputing their quote; I was pointing out misleading pricing information and seeking clarity as any reasonable customer would. For a company charging premium prices, the lack of professionalism and basic courtesy was astonishing.
Overall, my experience revealed both misleading website information and exceptionally poor customer service. For a company selling doors at a £21,000 price point, I would have expected far more transparency, respect, and professionalism.

Beautifully made doors and excellent customer service. We recently had two glass doors and a sliding bathroom door installed, and we couldn’t be happier. After building a house and working with many suppliers, Steel Door Company truly stood out. Their product quality, the efficiency and friendliness of their installation team, and their outstanding customer service were among the best we experienced. We chose Steel Door Company due to the high quality finish of their product compared to other suppliers and we were not disappointed. Highly recommend this company.

Ordered two sets of internal steel doors following full house renovation, Steel Door company were very easy to deal and gave us a competitive quote. Arrived and installed in just over a month. Jim, Owen and lewis were fantastic installers, polite, clean and efficient. Would recommend.

I reached out to the steel door company for 2 single doors and one double door with fixed side panels which needed to be fire rated doors for a new build, i provided the sales team with a clear requirement of Jansen 40w fire rated doors as part of building compliance. The quote came through a week ago in writing and we have had numerous emails back and forth on the specs and sizes. I chased last week to place an order for £19k. Unfortunately this is where it goes down hill and rapidly, the sales person left. It seems the sales person left recently and i had to start again with a new sales person who sent me a quote which increased to £37k with nothing changing. When i queried why it has almost doubled a person in the background told the sales rep to get rid of me. I clearly heard the call and then the person started back tracking and said it was someone in the kitchen, so he tried to make an excuse when i know it was him as he was handed over the call. Be careful that these guys first waste your time and then almost double the price and have no way of telling the customer why its almost doubled. A really poor experience and the staff member who tells the sales person to get rid of me clearly is very rude and has no respect for customers and i know his name. When you challenge these guys they don't like it as they cant justify why the price doubled. Then they tell you to go elsewhere as they don't like telling customers how the price can double when nothing has changed in the specs in the spate of a week. They basically doubled the price with no specs changing and then told me to go elsewhere if I did not like their pricing. I asked for one of the partners/owners so I can tell the owners how they just lost a £19k order on people being rude and disrespectful but they refused and covered up their mistakes and fobbed me off to go else.

I want to respond to Joshs feedback which he has simply made up.
1) I have all emails and quotes which i can share online in trust pilot if you want me to expose you. I am also prepared to send the emails to trust pilot to verify what was discussed
2) your quote has doubled, thats a fact, there are no 2 ways around it.
3) There is no way moving from a Jansen 50 to a W40 doubles the costs. your simply fooling the public.
4) There was no abusive language used, you made this up. Your sales guys did not like being challenged, thats a fact so they told me to go elsewhere, again that is a fact.
5) Your sales staff wanted my quotes, im not there to share confidential competitor quotes, and im not there to do your benchmarking, i simply pointed out to your staff i have quotes which are considerably lower than yours. Also i find it disrespectful sharing competitor quotes when they have trusted me in good faith.
5) Do you want me to post the emails and specs on trust pilot for all to see as it will expose you more than you already are. Clearly you are bitter and upset that your sales guys have simply tried to add the biggest margin possible but got caught and then could not back up the doubling of costs.

The 1st installation was a complete disgrace. Doors delivered separately by one driver. The wife and neighbour had to help carry them in and lift them over a fence. Doors flush one side and out by 10 to 12mm on the other. Then the next day our garden was covered in rubbish. When we looked, the fitters had hid the packaging around the side of the extension. Shocking service. The fitters left saying they would return to silicone the gaps. Utter madness.
Once reported, the steel door company did respond. Rarely and slowly.
The only good thing we can say is regarding the team that arrived to refit the doors. Ollie and Tyler had pride in their work. They had to completely refit. Due to the abismal 1st install they damaged the newly plastered wall. No fault of theirs. They reported the completely unacceptable 1st install back to the office, the wife and neighbour manually handling the heavy doors, the fact the fitters hid the garbage and that they damaged the wall.
Not one person from the steel door company have contacted us since they refitted the doors. Not one call, not one email. Customer care is not high on their list.
Nice door but grossly overpriced for the very poor install and customer service we received. They are not a high end product with our experience. The doors look good but certainly not worth the 5k we paid.
We await an offer of goodwill, we won't hold our breath.

Since the review, one of the owners contacted us immediately. Josh was very concerned regarding our treatment and experience. He was very honest and apologetic and fully explained what happened on the 1st Install. He also said he'd noted the delivery problem and would ensure this could not happen on future projects. We agreed this was a one off as the reviews for the company are excellent.
As stated the team who arrived to correct the doors were superb and we are more than happy with the finish.
6 stars would have been our review if we hadn't had the first team installation.

Could not be happier with my doors! From ordering to install it was only 8 weeks which was amazing as we wanted them quick. Jordan was great and was so quick to respond to all the questions we had. Jess worked with us to find a time for instal that suited us, even offered a weekend. The doors are stunning, everyone who’s seen them has complimented them. Already planning for more!

These guys are the best at what they do. Fantastic design, execution and installation. It's not cheap but you get what you pay for: the best in market. The excellence of their product is backed up by genuinely brilliant customer service. Shoutout to Rob McDowell who was our sales contact but also so much more. I've never had anyone respond to emails and calls as quickly as Rob and he was helpful throughout the whole process (not just the sale). Mark and Shane were also great when it came to installation. My wife and I are delighted and would highly recommend. Thanks guys.
