Found our perfect suite.....but
Last year me and my wife were searching for a suite for our living room and finally found the one we wanted in sterling mills home depot. Originally we thought about a 3 and a 2 seater but we're swayed after finding a 4 and a 3 for the same price..£1499 each. It arrived and it was perfect....until we found the cushions especially in the 4 seater were losing their "bounce" and comfort and starting to lose their shape. We went through to the store to show our concern about this problem and the manageress took our details and said an independent company will send someone out to look into this problem. The guy finally arrived a few weeks later and did a thorough inspection and then told us that "this is natural with suites and that your required to change or move cushions around to stop shagging,puckering of material etc. Now me and my wife are retired and both 67 years old and to be now told that this procedure is now required when purchasing a new suite really shocked both of us. All we were looking for was at least a firmer sponge to replace the obviously softer ones we have,but now we have to remove and switch the cushions,fluff up the cushions and honestly within 5 mins there is simply no difference as I feel the sponge is still fat too soft and while it may look ok once it's done....upon sitting on them it's back as it was before doing this procedure. Now I must state neither of us are overweight,we have no young grandchildren jumping about on the couches,just the 2 of us at the end of the day. Visitors say the suite looks lovely,but once sit on it are shocked with the comfort factor and ask have the springs,etc gone? This suite is just over a year old and after paying almost over £3,000 I feel the least that could have been done was a home visit from one of the store managers to witness for themselves how uncomfortable the suite has become. We have bought at least 2 other suites from here before over our 47 years of marriage but sadly now feel this won't last much longer and that we will look elsewhere for a suite that requires little maintenance as I've never heard of a customer requiring to do this stuff to a suite.

Going the extra mile
We purchased a rug which came with free delivery. We live approximately 40 miles away from the showroom in Fife.
Unfortunately the access to our village is very narrow, and the sales team could not guarantee that delivery by the manufacturer would be via a small van.
The team at Sterling literally went the extra mile and arranged for the rug to be delivered to their premises and then to ourselves via one of their team at no additional cost to ourselves. Thank you.

Best considerate sales person I have ever dealt with.
your sales person. Advice on listeningto my reasoning for purchase was not about making a sale on his remuneration, more at making the right purchase for my circumstances. A first for me. I have spent a few of my monies in Sterling, always looking for long term quality. Never disapointed. New level of customer service I commend him. If he is retained (money and embertment is all, for all walks of life) I would like he or his Ilk be available. Circumstance and Government who have no idea how business works, killeverything. You have someone who tries to help.
I cannot remember your sales persons name. It will be on your records. My wife has just had a massive stroke and i was just needing help. HE DID ALL OF THAT.
