During a cold and wet scramble along the Lake Districts Helvellyn mountain in 1967, Derek Laxton hit upon inspiration for a technical range of thermal underwear.
With a trained mechanical engineer background and a lust to run his own company, in 1969 Sub Zero Technology was created. From their original Leicester Textile Mill, the Sub Zero Factor 1 range of thermal base layers was born to worldwide acclaim.
In the five decades since, Sub Zero have expanded their range to include heavy weight thermal mid layers through to insulating down jackets. Never a company to stand still, Sub Zero have adopted new manufacturing processes, such as seamless knitting technology and body mapping, to produce garments that are at the pinnacle of performance.
Sub Zero today is still family owned, with the third generation of Laxtons running the company. The factory and offices now reside in rural Leicestershire, with the workforce coming from the local communities. Sub Zeros work ethos is still true today as it was form its interception - to design and manufacture technical outdoor clothing using the finest technical textiles for the words most extreme conditions.

It was easy to order
It was easy to order. The order went out promptly and was delivered in under 2 weeks to a rural postal address in Israel. The factor 2 mid layer leggings fit well and are extreemly comfortable.

The best insulation I have ever…
The best insulation I have ever purchased. I have worn many different makes of base and mid layers over the past 30 years including well known big global brands. I only came across SubZero a few years ago. The fit and insulation quality is excellent. Durability is first class, possibly the best. I really like the body length, I am 6 foot tall, SubZero are the longest I have ever worn. When you are at full stretch in double figures wind chill, SubZero has your back.
SubZero is my go to for warmth and comfort.

Thank you for your 5 star review. The glow tag you ordered probably needs quickly charging under a light bulb to start with, as it has been stored out of sunlight in our factory.

Thanks you for your kind review. We have very high quality standards, so i doubt the untrained eye will notice the difference between a sub-standard and a first quality garment. They will work perfectly fine and are finished to first quality as well.
Great customer care
Although it was a mistake in the shipment when I have spoken/chat to customer support immediately fixed the issue and resend me at their expense the missing items. Also as a courtesy from Subzero the items sent by mistaken were left at no charge.
Easy to do business with.
