Rip off cancellation process.Kept it delibrately complicated to rip off customers.

English newspaper disguised as offering news about Scotland, the only reflection of Scottish news is the small print below the name where it says Scotland. Dominated by English news amd articles amd a sports section committed only to English sport.
Over priced will never buy again

Sunday Times said on the cover "£3.50 to subscribers" and that is what I was paying. Didn't check my bank statements closely enough!

In Jan they started taking £30.33 A Month when paying the full cover price would have been £19 a month. Called me and they insisted the emailed in Dec saying that I now had to pay extra for access to their (useless) app that I have only accessed a few times.

This defeats the point of subscribing. Their CS team insist I was sent the email. Told them GMail allows search of even deleted emails and none were received so they changed their tune to say it was a letter instead. Nothing was received. They weren't prepared to do anything so I cancelled, received confirmation, then they are hounding me for payment for the next month!

What a shit-show.

Billed me for year after I asked to have my digital subscription cancelled, and won't refund the fees they leeched from me because I "failed to provide my Date-Of-Birth" in a timely manner. JFC! Reporting to the ActionFraud Police UK. Unbelievable.

I have received a letter saying my sunday times subscription is going up by 6 x in October. Yes 6 x.I called in during the week and was offered a discounted price via the c/s agent's manager for print yet when calling back today I was offered à higher price and told the one of a couple of days ago wasn't available. It seems just luck as to what you are offered and depends on who you speak to. I'm a long term subscriber and have just cancelled my subscription as I question their price rises and transparency. Rewarding long term customers? NO- CLEARLY NO WISH TO RETAIN US. I will switch newspapers. There are other options.

Be wary of subscription offers! They lure you in, then rip you off.

Was actually told off by them when I phoned in to cancel my subscription. Unbelievably rude and entitled behaviour by the reps. They also kept asking intrusive questions and suggesting I didn’t know better or was being unreasonable for wanting to cancel. Might have considered restarting my subscription in the future if not for this. Avoid.

I have had a subscription to the paper for more than a decade and this is now the second time in the last year that I have had cause to post a negative review. The cover price has recently gone up and for the last few days the large supermarkets, Sainsbury, Waitrose, etc. have been claiming that the subscription vouchers do not cover the full new cover price following the price increase but instead only have a monetary value equivalent to the old price and that I must therefore pay them the difference between the old and new prices. This has never happened before in the more than 10 years that I have held a subscription to the paper.

I was charged £26 for services I didn't use. I subscribed three months ago to read one article, believing my subscription would be free for the first three months. After downloading their iPhone app, I was charged £3 the next morning. Surprised, I unsubscribed immediately on my iPhone. However, three months later, I was charged £26.
When I called customer service, I was informed that to fully unsubscribe, I needed to call them directly, which I was unaware of, and there was no information indicating this requirement. They also told me they could not reimburse me.
As a result, I paid £29 to read just one article! This has been the most unexpected and horrendous experience I've ever had with subscriptions.

Highly predatory subscription model - they should be ashamed of themselves!

Keep getting censored by trustpilot when posting a constructive review about sunday times, anyhow I feel the newspaper has become somewhat disconnected from the injustices in the world or the reality of suffering for certain creatures like Foxes given your magazine article on that subject, it didn’t seem that conscientious or ethically concerned for the matter. Furthermore I don’t wish to read articles on posh privileged folk and their next vanity project, just seems like a newspaper for etonians, no thanks, annual subscription cancelled.

Don't try the free trial unless you're ready to be charged for the subscription. I've cancelled subscriptions with other companies, never been an issue. I've cancelled same day the trial ends, never an issue. But these guys have a 2-step cancellation process (have you ever heard of anything so ridiculous) and you have to contact them at least 2 days before the trial ends. And they won't budge. Super strict, insane policy. Nothing in the sign up email and none of this comes up when searching for 'cancellation' on their website. It's this type of customer service that makes people NOT come back. Had I got a refund I would've come back in the future when I can afford it. I told them they've lost a customer, but they don't care. Customers mean nothing to them.

Tried the free trial service, they made it very easy to pay but impossible to cancel online. I emailed to cancel before the trial ends, they said you must call. I was travelling abroad during xmas and billed regardless. Worst experience I have had cancelling an online subscription. Would not have expected this poor conduct and customer care from a large company

I have been silenced online on YouTube for freedom of speech that did not fit with the sympathies narrative they are peddling, pro palatine march in London is an absolute affront to every kindness the UK have provided. I am utterly stunned to be a born in Britain white female who has been silenced online, allah akbar can suck my metaphorical dick. Praise be to God!

After 10 years as a subscriber to the Sunday Times print pack, I got a letter on 13th November from Abdullah Ahmed, who according to the letter is Director of Subscriptions saying that my subscription was increasing from £13:00 per month to £30.33 per month. It turns out that at some point The Sunday Times added digital access free of charge to my subscription. Now suddenly this digital access will be charged.....resulting in a 233% increase. Ive asked to speak to Mr Ahmed and he "doesnt work in this building". Ive tried to email him at *.*@news.co.uk and to date there is no reply. The Email got through as there was no bounceback.

Such a bad experience. Signed up as a trial online. It was super easy and convenient. After two months wanted to cancel as just wasn’t using it. They don’t let you cancel online or email. You have to call their sales line. The aggressive sales team then take you through multiple options to try and keep you. Their tone was rude and despite saying multiple times I wanted to cancel they continued to push subscriptions options. When they did cancel they then charged me a final month but cut off my access from that day. I don’t care about accessing it as wasn’t using it, but I’ve never experienced that before. Absolute scam. If you offer a subscription online that is easy to sign-up to, you should make it as easy to cancel

My dad has terminal cancer. These fine people are currently insisting he calls up to cancel his subscription from his hospital bed.

I disagree with most reviews of mortimer & whitehouse program: it is a self indulgent bad progrram with 2 participants having irrelevant chat

I just want to confirm these reviews - its very simple to set up the subscription, but very difficult to end it in the right time. Its quite embarassing for the newspaper to act like that.
