Misleading information

We switched broadband and tv from Virgin to Vodafone as it was cheaper. Switcher did not disclose that the Vodafone tv service was vastly inferior with no facility to pause live tv or to record and store tv programmes. We had to switch back to Virgin causing us a world of grief. Do your own research and don't bother with this crowd.

Scam! Why not simply be honest and stop wasting everyones time.

Scam!
They simply bait people with false information.
Clicking on their ten euro 30day rolling contract Tesco sim offer directs One to a Tesco site offering the sim at ten euro for the first six months but its a 12 month contract according to the small print with no mention of the rolling 1 month clickbait.

I fundamentally object to being made fool of, so I didnt investigate whether this "30 euro" sim is actually charged at the full thirty, but regardless, the service offered on the Switcher website is false, in my opinion fraudulent as someone had to actually put the link into the switcher site.

Don’t change provider through


Don’t change provider through switcher.ie, contact the provider directly. It cost me 150 because of the delays moving through switcher application from the higher cost from my old undiscounted rate and they just ignored the meter reading I had provided.

Avoid Switcher.ie - deals are not real

I used Switcher.ie to change my Broadband provider to Virgin Media.
Afterwards Switcher did not email me to confirm my contract details.
But Virgin emailed me, a more expensive contract, than I had signed up for.

I tried to contact Switcher.ie :
- they have no phone number
- they have no live chat
- only email.

5 days and 5 emails later I have had no response from Switcher.ie.

If I cancel - even within the 14 day cooling off period, Virgin will treat me as an existing customer.
I will not be offered New Customer deals.

No matter what I do I loose and Switcher.ie wins

Seamless Electric provider switch

Happy to report that I had a seamless switch of Electric provider with "Switcher.ie".
The offers were transparent with full breakdown of charges.
My only tip for people is to take a few screenshots of the deal you sign up for and the reference No for your own records.

Transparency is non existent.

In relation to energy service providers Switcher enables providers to falsely advertise price plans. The CRU dont even flag this or consumer affairs. Price plans and tarrif rates are not clearly advertised and one has to dig deep to the point of forensic analysis to decipher what the Kw Per/hr rates are standing charges and other fees are. Nothing is advertised with Crystal clear transparency on switcher and the CRU should be held accountable as rates have increased by 40% in the past 24 months for no justifiable reason other than to exploit customers and profiteer and switcher are enabling rising costs.

Using Switcher.ie to transfer my broadband provider

Using Switcher.ie to transfer my provider from Sky to Pure Telecom has been nothing short of a nightmare!
In March 2024, I applied through Switcher.ie to move from Sky to Pure Telecom. Unfortunately, there was an issue from the beginning, Pure stating that I needed more information rather than just my UAN number from Sky to initiate my account, Sky stating that I only have a UAN number as my phone line goes through my broadband. This is something that Pure Telecom couldn't seem to get their head around. Due to the fact that Pure didn't process the transfer properly with Sky, I have to date received billing from Pure and Sky for March, April and May. During this time I had no phone line with Pure then stating that I didn't ask to port my telephone number. After showing proof of my initial request I finally received my original number.
Pure agreed to credit my account for all the Sky bills I had been receiving, while receiving bills from Pure too on production of the bills, bills emailed, still no credit!
July 18th
Received disconnection notice from Pure Telecom, stating a bill for 112.40 and In order to prevent disconnection on 31st July, account needed to be settled. On receiving this disconnection notice, I emailed Pure again with the history of the issues, plus the Sky bills only to be told by customer care that I had no proof that my phone line wasn't ported across from the start. I emailed back with proof and I am awaiting a reply.
As of yesterday 29th July, I was disconnected, even the disconnection notice was incorrect!
Called Pure, only to be told that I wasn't disconnected but had fault on the line. Customer care? then stated after speaking with Tech support that I was disconnected but to ignore the letter date as they changed it!
Paid Pure 114 euro, different again to letter to have my internet reconnected, my complaint has been escalated.
My experience of switching from Sky to Pure Telecom through Switcher.ie has been a complete disaster so avoid at all costs.
I had fallen for the advertisement that switching through this program would save me money.
To date from the start of this debacle in March, I have paid a total of €327.00 to both Sky and Pure Telecom for broadband (3 months) with landline (one month)
My advice, Don't do it!

Switcher.ie are not Independent and are paid by the companies they advertise, If you shop around you will find much cheaper, we tried the Broadband for quotes but were directed to the Broadband Providers who pay switcher.ie There are other Broadband providers in Ireland who are cheaper , We went with ruralbroadband.ie because they were cheaper, had no price increases and offered Free connection and Free installation and they are Guaranteed Irish, we found out if we used the provider suggested by Switcher.ie that twice during our contract our prices would increase TWICE by 7.5% . But this is in the SMALL PRINT, always read the SMALL PRINT . Ruralbroadband.ie put in writing that we would have NO price increases and they are registered with Com reg and NBI Fiber . Switcher.ie are not Independent .

Not worth it, try to switch directly.

There are serious system problems with Switcher that has made signing up to a new broadband provider a serious pain.

Switched broadband providers to Virgin Media through Switcher only because the Virgin Media website wasn't allowing me to do so. Switcher automatically makes an appointment on the next working day for the modem installer to visit without asking whether this suits. This would be fine if I was able to change the appointment easily but because Switcher does not create a Virgin Media account or allow you to connect your new service to your existing account number I have been unable to change my appointment. I have spent hours on hold with Virgin dealing with customer service assistants who don't know how to access my account without an account number. Obviously part of the problem here is also Virgin's terrible systems and a series of mistakes on their customer service's side, but if Switcher just enabled you to create an account as part of the workflow then this wouldn't have arisen.

The customer service people at Switcher responded efficiently to my email queries. The issue is the system and they are just trying to assist with what is a faulty system.

Switcher may help make decisions to change suppliers but suggest people must do their own homework as well. NOWTV is listed by them as one of the best streaming services in ireland and they published a relevant article on Nov 30th. So joined up to find I have engaged with a shower of gangsters. No Service...Delete your payment details so they can say no payments were taken by them...very difficult to contact and week to reply..will not isssue refunds. Avoid this company-NOWTV
So again suggest check out all reviews for the full picture before committing.

14 day cool off period is your problem.

All smooth until after everything has gone through and then they let you know that the prices are going up in one months time so you're not actually saving any money :) 14 day cool off period? They won't sort it out for you, that's your own problem now, they just want their comission! Useless people.

Rubbish

Rubbish. Ignore any deadlines imposed by providers. Simply seems to "lazily" pass on requests so you end up with a charge for terminating "early". Would avoid
