After posting my honest review about my unsafe food experience with "talabat.com" on Trustpilot, Talabat publicly responded asking me to contact them by email so they could “assist” further.
I did exactly that.
I spent more time writing emails, explaining the entire situation again, and even copied my detailed review to make sure everything was understood clearly.
The result?
Exactly the same automated response:
“Please provide pictures.”
Nothing else.
No real investigation.
No reopening of the case.
No compensation.
No accountability.
No actual customer support.
This proves my original concern even more strongly: the public replies appear to exist mainly to create the impression that Talabat cares about resolving problems, while in reality absolutely nothing changes behind the scenes.
The case remained closed.
Nobody genuinely reviewed the complaint.
Nobody addressed the fact that undercooked chicken was delivered.
Nobody addressed the missing items.
Nobody addressed the poor customer support process itself.
The only repeated answer was:
“Pictures.”
I already explained clearly that the food was thrown away immediately because it was unsafe and disgusting. Most normal people who receive raw chicken late at night do not start preparing evidence files before throwing contaminated food away.
What is most frustrating is not only the unsafe food itself, but the complete lack of professional handling afterward.
Under Egyptian Consumer Protection Law No. 181 of 2018, consumers have the right to receive safe products and fair treatment regarding defective or harmful goods. A company should not hide behind repetitive scripted responses when a customer raises a legitimate food safety concern.
Undercooked chicken is not a minor inconvenience.
It is a health risk.
Instead of demonstrating professionalism, responsibility, or customer care, this entire process felt designed to exhaust the customer until they simply give up.
I wasted my time sending emails and explaining everything repeatedly, only to receive the exact same answer I already received inside the app before the case was closed.
If customer support exists only to repeat “send pictures” regardless of the situation, then it is not truly support.
A serious company should know the difference between handling a complaint and only pretending to handle one.

Worse food delivery service experience ( items missing) with no legitimate explanation as to why. After some correspondence with Lulu, Items confirmed lost in transit (Rider). Several hours later Talabat rep called stating “the system will not allow us to reimburse in this instance “ Where’s the accountability.?

Talabat is actually a joke. Half my order arrived and then support tells me I need to wait 4-5 business days for a refund like it’s my fault. I was polite at first and even said the restaurant messed up the order, but the courier could’ve at least checked what he was delivering. Support kept saying “sorry” without fixing anything and even tried ending the call before the issue was solved. Then they acted like adding the money to my Talabat wallet somehow fixed the whole issue. Terrible service honestly.

The quality of customer care has dropped to very poor level. I received a half baked chicken from a restaurant and they tagged my complaint as ‘in progress’ and it stayed there for the next 5 hours. We raised another complaint and received a call that amount is being refunded. Nothing was intimated in writing and no refund received Today they changed the status to resolved. I protested. So they changed the status to Closed. Now you can’t protest. There is no call centre any more. No chat. No agent.

I placed my first ever order on Talabat Qatar with high expectations. I ordered cashews and a yogurt. What I received was a complete disaster.
The delivery arrived with the yogurt fully melted and spilled everywhere inside and outside the cashew bag. The entire package was soaked, damaged, and messy. Most of the cashews were ruined. I immediately contacted customer support with clear pictures of the damage.
I chatted with multiple agents over several hours. Every single agent kept saying Don’t worry, the refund is being processed It has been sent to the finance team We have noted everything and gave repeated false promises. One agent even offered a phone call while my daughter was sleeping.
After all the waiting and assurances, I received a shocking reply from Talabat Customer Care saying they cannot process a partial refund due to “certain actions” in my account history even though I never asked for a partial refund. I have been demanding a full refund from the very beginning for a completely damaged order.
Result?
No refund
No resolution
No return pickup
Only lies, delays, and poor excuses
This is not customer service. This is extremely unprofessional and frustrating behaviour. Talabat Qatar completely ruined my first experience, wasted my money, and failed to take responsibility for a clearly damaged product.
I strongly advise others to be very careful before ordering from Talabat Qatar.

Very misleading pricing and terrible customer support experience with Talabat.
The app displayed discounted item prices in the menu, making it look like those were the final prices, but I was charged a much higher amount at checkout. When I contacted support, nobody properly addressed the actual issue. Instead, I received multiple unnecessary calls (including late at night) and endless automated “issue resolved” emails while nothing was actually resolved.
One of the most frustrating and unprofessional customer service experiences I’ve had.

I have often received wrong items on r missing items with failure to resolve. The latest experience was that i ordered certain type of spices and i received another one, they said they will pick up and then pay back in 30 minutes but they picked the item and never paid back and said cant be completed. The item was untouched and sealed and complaint was raised immediately after receiving the order. This is so annoying and literally can be considered theft as they got the item then refused to pay back with no reason.

I ordered food and wanted to cancel it immediately, but Talabat misinformed me by saying I had to contact the restaurant myself. Although this should not have been my responsibility, I still followed the process. Unfortunately, despite contacting the restaurant and reaching out to the complaints team, nothing was resolved. Since I paid by credit card, the order still went through and was not canceled.
Very disappointing customer service experience, especially with the high markup on the original food prices as well.

Order happened on 18th april 10:55 pm.
Hair was found in order, cheese tasted weird, quality was extremely bad, photo taken, and complaint raised. I HAVE LITERAL PHOTOGRAPHIC EVIDENCE OF THE HAIR. was promised full refund within 24 hours.
no refund until May 9th. i call at may 9th and im promised a refund within 24 hours AGAIN. nothing happens until may 11th.
on may 11th i call and ask for my refund as it has been promised, the person on the end of the call says “we cannot give the refund because there’s suspicious activity regarding your account”. i speak to a higher up and im told “within one hour, you’ll receive a call from our legal team and you’ll get help regarding this issue”. no call. it’s the next day at 2:07 am.

and despite them stating we are very sorry and please send an email, guess what, NO RESPONSE!!! And I guarantee they will reply with the same to this review, Talabat is useless, zero accountability for shocking delivery times, food arriving cold and customer service that is no more use than the food that they deliver. My complaint was simple and could have been rectified with a refund but one week later, nothing, If you are reading this review, please use any other food delivery service but not talabat.

Received a wrong and damaged item, and the product looked different from the picture in the app. I followed up many times for almost 3 days, but there was still no proper solution or refund. Customer service kept giving different information and promises. They also said many times that they already reported the issue to higher management, but nothing happened. After all the reports they made, they still marked the case as resolved even though my issue was never resolved.

They literally compel you to use the app only, which is not ideal, as anyone should have the freedom of using website on a laptop or app and not be forced into the app only.
Customer service is very poor.

I ordered Vitabiotics Menopace Plus from this seller, and the product listing was misleading. The main image showed the actual Menopace Plus Botanicals box, but the seller used a second promotional image that looks completely different. Because of this, I received a product that did not match the item shown in the primary photo.
This kind of mixed-image listing is confusing and feels like it’s tricking customers. Supplements must be listed accurately, and customers should receive exactly what is shown. Very disappointed with the lack of transparency.
I hope the seller fixes the listing so others don’t face the same issue.
