Incredible experience
We have wanted to do a safari for a long time and booked Tanzania Specialist for our honeymoon - we had an incredible time. Everything ran incredibly smoothly from pick up at the airport to drop off for our next flight. The accommodation was fabulous (we stayed at Arusha Villa, Manyaraâs Secret and Kiriche Camp). The food at Manyaraâs Secret was incredible and very good at Arusha Villa. Kiricheâs camp had incredible views and very attentive staff - each hotel made extra effort to make our honeymoon even more special.
We spent our safari in Arusha, Manyara, Serengeti and the Ngorongoro crater - we saw so many animals including the big five and learned huge amounts from our knowledgeable and kind safari guide/driver, Stanford. Stanford kept us up to date with our itineraries and made thoughtful changes to his route during the safari to ensure we got the best chance to see the animals we were most desperate to see. He was extremely organised and made sure we had everything we needed each day and was happy to make changes based on our preferences.
When we encountered a problem with our ongoing travel following our safari (unrelated to Tanzania Specialist), Stanford contacted airport staff for us to make sure we were able to get the issue sorted and made sure this was followed up when we arrived at the airport. He even texted us the day after to check weâd had no problems. Absolutely brilliant time. Thank you so much Stanford.
Tanzania Specialist themselves were very responsive over email and answered our queries quickly. The only slight downfall was transparency on pricing - when we were initially looking at booking additional activities we were given a price only to be told later that those prices were wrong and were actually significantly higher. Additionally, 3-4 weeks before we were due to depart for our safari, I received an email from Tanzania Specialist requesting an additional payment of 4% of our total safari cost to support with increases in fuel prices. Due to the last minute nature of this request and the fact that the surcharge was a percentage of our entire safari (rather than just the fuel part), we queried this. After querying, we were told that the surcharge was not mandatory however the initial email included an invoice and very much gave the impression that we would have to pay over £300 extra. I felt like the communication here could have been better as it is very difficult to budget for a trip when there are last minute price changes (bearing in mind we booked this back in 2025).
Apart from this blip before the safari, our experience was brilliant.

We had an absolutely amazing experience with Tanzania Specialist from start to finish! Our Tanzania trip was truly unforgettable, and a huge part of that was the outstanding service and support we received from the entire Tanzania Specialist team.
A very special thank you to our travel consultant, Raposhi Olosotu, who was exceptional throughout the entire planning process. We planned our trip within a relatively short six-week timeframe, and Raposhi made the entire process feel effortless. He worked with me closely for nearly a month, patiently modifying and fine-tuning our itinerary until it matched exactly what our family wanted. He was incredibly responsive, attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely interested in understanding what we were looking for.
Raposhi also provided excellent recommendations for our lodges and accommodations, which turned out to be some of the highlights of our trip. His knowledge and recommendations made a huge difference in creating an itinerary that was not only exciting but also comfortable and perfectly suited to our family. Even with the relatively short planning timeline, he never made us feel rushed or pressured. He was always available to answer questions, make changes, and offer thoughtful suggestions. His professionalism, patience, responsiveness, and attention to detail were truly exceptional. We felt that he genuinely cared about making our trip special, and he delivered far beyond our expectations.
Our safari guide and driver, Remi Mollel, was equally outstanding. Remi was extremely knowledgeable about the national parks, wildlife, animal behavior, and the best locations to find the action. His experience and knowledge made a huge difference throughout our safari in Tarangire National Park, the Serengeti, and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
One of the most impressive examples was when we had only one day in the Northern Serengeti and really wanted to see the wildebeest migration and river crossings. Remi knew exactly where to take us and positioned us in the right areas at the right time. Incredibly, we were able to witness two river crossings within about two hours! It was one of the most spectacular and memorable experiences of our entire trip.
Remi was also an excellent driverâobservant, professional, and always focused on giving us the best possible safari experience. He clearly knew the parks extremely well and had an incredible ability to anticipate where the wildlife would be. We could not have asked for a better guide.
We would also like to give special recognition to Riziki Cliford, our contact person during the safari. When we decided at the last minute that we wanted to change our itinerary so that we could travel to the Northern Serengeti to experience the migration and river crossings, Riziki went above and beyond to make it happen. She was incredibly helpful, responsive, and resourceful in arranging the last-minute changes. Her assistance allowed us to experience something that became one of the absolute highlights of our trip. We truly appreciated having someone so dependable and helpful available to us during the safari.
What impressed us most was how smoothly everything came together. From airport transfers and accommodations to game drives, domestic flights, and even last-minute itinerary changes, Tanzania Specialist handled everything professionally.
Raposhi, Remi, Riziki, and all the wonderful lodge and resort staff deserve special recognition for making our trip so extraordinary. Their knowledge, professionalism, responsiveness, warmth, and genuine commitment to giving us the best possible experience made a tremendous difference.

We were really surprised how smoothly the logistics went. For example we had a pre-safari info meeting upon arrival, and a Zanzibar arrival info meeting as well, which we didnt expect. In addition, our hotels were really great, especially Baobab Central. Fabulous! Pick ups were always on time and the drivers drove safely. Opportunities for improvement would be for the safari driver to have some basic tools on hand in case of a jeep break down. Essential when in the remote safari landscape. The drivers got me from point to point
The drivers got me from point to point, but don't expect anyone to think! I was dropped at the ferry with no ticket and 40 pounds of bags. Traveling as a solo senior, Tanzania Specialist offered me no assistance and left me in a dangerous position trying to navigate this busy ferry system on my own. They also forgot to pick me up at the airport when I flew into the country. Very frightening.

Great trip, could use better planning
We had a great time on our safari! We were able to see the Big 5, the wildebeest crossing, and so much more. I think the trip planners should communicate more with their guides in the field, because our guide kept saying the format of our trip wasn't the best, but we just went with what the planners said would be best. I wish we had stayed in fewer places for longer periods. All of our excursions went well and our transportation was always prompt!

Great experience, it was probably the best trip we have done
The whole team was very helpful, professional, and kind.
Our Kilimanjaro guides and the team were great. Especially Jeffrey, who kept on checking in on us later on as well, which was very sweet of him.
The biggest shout out to Hagai. We feel very lucky for having met him. He is such a kind person, so eager to share his knowledge. Really, an amazing guide! Also here, a big testament to the safari team - everyone is looking out for each other and helping out, always in a good mood. This creates a fantastic atmosphere for the visitors.

Tanzania Specialists are simply the best
Right from the start, we were able to design a personalised Safari with Joseline Anthony, that met our needs and wants. She was brilliant - patient, attentive, creative, and flexible. She also supported us with visa concerns, and advice at many levels for months before our Safari, during, and after. It was so good to have this one constant and reliable presence that we knew that was only a Whatsapp or email away. The first part of our Safari, a two day hike up and down the first leg of the 'coca cola' route of Mount Kilimanjaro was supported beautifully by our guides Rama and Wilson. They introduced us to the term polepole, and were knowledgeable, kind, caring, funny, and well organised. Much of the experience was about the enjoyment of their company. Our cook was fantastic, and our porters attentive, energetic, kind and friendly. It was an amazing experience. For the rest of our Safari through many of the National Parks, and witnessing the wildebeest migration across the Mara River, we had our new friend Michael Joseph. We were truly blessed to have this wonderful soul immerse us in the best of Tanzania. We saw all the big 5 and so much more. We didn't just glance them, we experienced them in their natural habitat going about their normal business - it was magical. Michael taught us about his culture, Swahili language, and genuinely cared for our welfare, our experience, and our happiness. He was always there to support us and deliberately learned and catered for our individual needs, beyond what might be expected. He was a wonderful driver, cheerful, knowledgeable, generous, and kind friend. Our Zanzibar drivers and the hotels we stayed at were all wonderful with outstanding staff. We finished our Safari with a lifetime of memories and new friends - what more could we ask for? There is a reason that there are two Tanzania Specialist Safari vehicles to one of a range of others in the country - it's simply because they are the best.

Amazing Family Safari Experience in Tanzania
We had a great experience with Tanzania Specialist from beginning to end. From our very first contact via e-mail and WhatsApp, communication was friendly, clear and uncomplicated. The whole trip was perfectly organized and adapted to our needs.
During the safari, everything went smoothly, allowing us to relax and fully enjoy the experience. Our guide was professional, knowledgeable and genuinely enthusiastic about spotting animals, answering our questions and helping us discover the beauty of the different national parks we visited. His passion and experience made the trip even more special. The lodge staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, especially with our children. We always felt very well looked after. The tented camps were our favourite places to stay.

Safari was amazing
Safari was amazing. Everything was very well organized. And Pascal our guide was the nicest person we could have on our trip. Very good driver, lots of knowledge and also gave us the space we needed if necessary. Everything - request or question - he made happen. 5 starts to him.
The last hotel we had was a bit disappointing and by far the worst of our stays. But it did the job and the personal was very friendly.
Regarding the one day hike on Kilimanjaro, our guide was good, but absolutely not needed. If we knew this was such an easy hike we would have gone by ourselves and only needed a driver. This should have been better communicated to us. Also, until we told him that we booked our connecting flight in the evening ourselves he was very stressed because apparently you guys made a lot of pressure on him that we will be on time. He only wanted to do half of the distance. Only after we told him that the flight is booked by us, he admitted that we have plenty of time. It felt like very unnecessary stress.
In general we had a great experience, and communication with you guys was always easy and we got quick responses. Much appreciated.

Unfortunately, self-guided hikes are not permitted by the park authorities

Amazingly knowledgeable guides/drivers, great travel consultants
Your guide/driver Peter 'Cornel' Venust was amazing. He has such a depth of knowledge about the animals' behavior and the Parks. He did a great job of avoiding the crowds and finding many private moments. We saw things in 9 days that I didn't see in my 4 years of living in Tanzania going on safari. Also, Rogers, Travel Consultant, did an excellent job of working with me to develop the bespoke safari I wanted. I had a good framework itinerary based on my prior experience; however he added value with his many, useful suggested adjustments. He was flexible when I asked for changes based of flight dates.

The main credit goes to our super guide/driver Saaid who managed to find us all the cats possible including 5 cheetahs and four leopards with dozens of lions and 8 rhinos in the crater!
The lodges were very comfortable with excellent dinners- we had lunch boxes on the safari since Saaid took us from morning to evening trips without mid day breaks which was the best possible way to do the safari
In all it was the perfect safari experience for us and we could not have wished for a better experience
