While we are pleased that the staff were welcoming and friendly, we are sorry to hear that it did not meet the high standards set by the rest of your journey. Thank you as well for highlighting your experience during the Kilimanjaro day hike. We apologize that the level of the hike and the role of the guide were not communicated clearly in advance. We understand that the trail felt straightforward. However, Kilimanjaro National Park regulations require all hikers, including day visitors, to be accompanied by a licensed guide. Unfortunately, self-guided hikes are not permitted by the park authorities
