The Film Safe is an Independent Film Developing Lab based in Southampton, UK. It is run by Hope and Jack, the founders of the company in 2021. Our services include: Film developing of C41 and Black and White 35mm and 120 film, scanning at low, medium, high JPEG and high TIFF file sizes on professional Noritsu scanners, printing of 6x4 images on a professional DNP printer and light retouching of images to give you the best possible images back. We also sell a small selection of 35mm films both colour and black and white and a range of merchandise including T-Shirts, stickers, caps and totes. As a lab, we understand that it is not the most eco-friendly service but we take every measure we can to make our services as eco-friendly as possible including eco assured packaging, getting our chemicals removed safely, recycling packaging and giving back 3% to an eco conscious charity - Coral Gardeners alongside the other incredible charties, CALM and Alzheimers Research UK. We work on a 3 day turnaround for colour films and a 5 day turnaround for black and white films and are constantly looking at ways of expanding and improving our services. We wanted to make a lab that was friendly and approachable for the film community, offering advice and support for all things film related. We run a Discord channel where we can be contacted at any time of the day as well as a separate support email to help filter our emails.

I had a really positive experience with Film Safe. The order and delivery process was straightforward. Their pricing for Film developing and films is quite reasonable, and I appreciated having various shipment options to choose from. Supporting small businesses like Film Safe, which consistently deliver high-quality results, is something I value. Overall, I’m very satisfied and would recommend them to others.

Quality Film Lab :)

Quality Film Lab! Consistent turn around times, scans always come back perfect, great variety of film in stock and they make stunning prints if I ever want to add a little extra something to my order. Jack and Hope are so helpful and friendly, even when they’re super busy - and when the dogs are there it’s an added bonus! Honestly couldn’t recommend them enough :)

Amazing service!!

I’ve sent both some film and a disposable camera to the film safe and I’ve been amazed with the service and quality of my images both times. I received my downloads within 3 days of the guys receiving my film and the communication and customer service is just second to none. I will continue to use these guys!!
