Absolutely shocking company. I really dont know how a company operates like this. It must run on taking people's full payments . Living on the interest. Ordered 2 chairs was told 9 weeks well well nothing arrived new being strung out getting my payment back. avoid like covid. Rubbish customer service. Its all fine and smiles when your buying

I ordered an oak drinks cabinet online.
I was given 3 delivery dates where the item didn't turn up, no communication or apology from the company. 3 calls and 4 emails to their customer services dept eventually prompted delivery almost a month later.
On opening the packaging I've found the cabinet to have extensive water damage. It's warped, covered in mould and stinks.
The packaging is undamaged and dry and in some places has smeared the mould as it's been applied.
I immediately contacted them, supplying photos. I've been told someone might look at my complaint next week. No apology, no offer of refund etc.
Unbelievably bad experience from start to finish. If you're considering buying from this company I hope this review can save you the stress and inevitable disappointment.

We ordered a sofa on 16th October 2025 and were initially told delivery would be around Christmas, possibly early January.

Unfortunately, the timeline kept changing and we were repeatedly told someone would “get back to us”, which often didn’t happen. Communication was very inconsistent, and we had to chase multiple times for updates.

By late February, we still had no confirmed delivery date and were being told that updates depended on speaking to a director. At that point, we raised concerns and considered cancelling the order.

Only after we pushed firmly and mentioned cancellation did things start to move, and we were then told the sofa was arriving into the warehouse and delivery would be arranged.

In total, it took around five months from ordering to receiving the sofa.

The sofa itself is as expected, but the overall experience was frustrating due to the lack of proactive communication and shifting timelines.

We saw a drinks cabinet we liked and it was almost half the price we had seen elsewhere. It showed 8 in stock.

After reading very poor reviews on here about the company we were hesitant to order online so spoke at length to Paula in the Newark Office. We wanted to make sure the stock level was accurate and that we wouldn’t be parting with our money to find out they were awaiting stock deliveries etc.

Paula offered to go to the trouble to speak to the Warehouse Manager in Peterborough who assured us they were in stock. For that we were very grateful to her and she put the order through for us there and then.

The next morning we had another measure up (we decided to put the cabinet somewhere else) but found the cabinet would block off some of the window/light so regretfully we decided to cancel the order. We did this by email and phone call.

There was a bit of a delay in getting our refund but that was due to the order going through as a shop order rather than online (different rules apply).

So credit where credit is due. Paula was very professional, patient, friendly and helpful and we could always speak to someone on the phone - unlike many other companies we have dealt with.

Update on my review. When I threatened them with a solicitors letter and cancellation suddenyly I received notification of delivery. Finally day of delivery came and when the delivery drivers left,I looked properly at my sofa and it was the WRONG colour. They have not bothered to reply to my email or contacted me about this. I cannot stress enough DO NOT buy from this Company. Once they get your money, they do not care at all. Lack of communication, customer service and LIE about everything. The most awful Company I have ever encountered.

I was going to wait to write a review after my sofa was to be delivered but no hope in this actually happening. Ordered a sofa from the Peterborough store and was told 6 to 8 weeks. 11 weeks on and still no sign of delivery. I have emailed them 3 times and completed the online form and finally received an email apooogising but no action on there part being taken. As I had not heard anything I popped in to the store. Was told they do not see or reply to emails and that the delivery to the store was due the following week. Would have been good customer service if they had notified me of this. The day after the expected delivery to store still not heard anything. I telephoned customer services and was told delivery had failed to the store. I telephoned the store and was told that it again had failed for the second time. The person I spoke to was obviously in a rush and did not want to speak to me. He did not even know if the sofa had arrived in store and had to check. He told me that he would find out what had gone wrong (why they did not do this the first time is beyond me, this is something they should in front of and aware of the issues) and I would receive a telephone call with an update. That was 2 days ago and no telephone call. I have again sent an email to them advising of my rights under the Consumer Rights Act to cancel the order if they do not deliver to home address by Friday 27th February and refund my money within 14 days. Have also contacted Trading Standards in respect of this,including their lack of treatment to their customers. I wish I had seen all these reviews before as I would not have placed an order with this shambles of a company. Avoid at all costs.

Item damaged been trying to contact on social media, via their email and calling without answer saying their ops are too busy at the moment, my table wAs damaged when unpacking it and want this sorted this cost 600 and is not good enough and ignoring customer services emails is disgraceful.

Nightmare company.
I placed an order for two side tables and a nest of tables at the end of November, and the entire experience has been a complete nightmare. I received no delivery details at first, so I had to call to discover the nest of tables wasn’t in stock. After that, I arranged for the side tables to be delivered, but no one showed up despite me waiting all day. After countless phone calls, I was told the nest of tables would be in the week of February 4th and delivered the week of February 9th. I had to chase again on February 11th, and it was hastily rearranged for today, February 13th, between 9:30 and 12:30. This morning, the driver called to say he was far away and asked to come later (around 3:30). Then, just now, the store called to say the delivery was off because the van broke down. After all this, it might now be Monday, but I’ve told them to cancel and refund me if it doesn’t happen. I wouldn’t recommend this company at all. It’s been a complete lack of communication and reliability.

Avoid this amateurish operation

Irthlingborough Furniture Warehouse is the correct trading name.

Poor quality furniture, lies, poor service, late or non delivery all in all a very very badly run and poorly managed business this place must be avoided at all costs you definitely will not be happy with all the lies and trash furniture you may have the misfortune to come across

This company suffers from extremely poor customer care, poor correspondence and little empathy. Three furniture items purchased from shop and only one delivered within the timeframe stated. No correspondence at all on delayed delivery items. Customer on several occasions had to contact store to get updates. Head office extremely poor and unable to provide satisfactory help. Store was quite happy to take full payment and then only after nine (9) months items finally arrived. No apology or offer of refund or good will gesture received. Do not purchase from this store.

Avoid this company like the plague!
I ordered a matching set of furniture in April 2025. The items within it have been sent in dribs and drabs. I am still missing 3 items of furniture. I have not been able to obtain any communication from this company of any value. They are full of excuses.
They have offered no form of refund or compensation despite requests.

Shocking service. Placed my order which was a preorder so didn’t expect delivery straightaway. Contacted them after a month of no communication or expected delivery date. Asked for the ordered to be cancelled as it wasn’t going to be here in time. They then gave me a delivery date. I explained it was too late and wanted to cancel my ordered. I’ve heard nothing since. Luckily I paid by credit card so have some protection. I’ve had to take it up with my bank to resolve. The furniture warehouse are just not answering my emails. I would avoid this company and if you do use them use a credit card for payment as extra protection.

Shabby poor quality and extremely poor customer service
Made an order in the Irthlingborough store mid August.
We did not receive any form of communication regarding our items, since placing the order.

Last week we chased up the order to find, that one item was discontinued and another was going to take another month to arrive.
We were not happy to have 1 item substituted and wait another month for another.
We requested a refund.
This was not actioned! A text arrived at 5am the following morning. Saying all items were due for delivery today 20th October.
The two man team implied all items were being delivered and built in the designated room.
But the discontinued item was not present and the delivery men would not take back the order, they said I had to deal directly with the store. Both items delivered are substandard and I’m now looking to get a charge back if the items are not collected and we are refunded. Both items are damaged, shabby and extremely poor quality.

Had a tv unit delivered the deliver men where brilliant, thrn inspected my item to find there was makes on it contact Peterborough sent pictures stating it is not in perfect condition, asked for a replacement or a discount as not perfect, they have not responded to my last 3 emails, this piece was very expensive and the after service is not acceptable. Lovely furniture but poor service and faulty
