Good service all round from the car prep to the copywriting and, especially, the photos. Will repeat with other vehicles as appropriate.

Bonhams were very easy to deal with; Mark Livesey came back quickly with an estimate following my email enquiry. I then just drove the car to Abingdon, left it with Bonhams, then paid the concierge fee and waited for the auction to proceed. Eventual sale price was upper end of the Bonhams estimate, so I have no complaints. Buyer paid the day following the auction, so all in all a very painless experience.

Very easy to use, I took advantage of th Concierge service which meant I could just drop the car off, it was then valeted and photographed. Once sold the buyer transferred the money promptly and the the deal was very "hands off".

I dealt with Fraser Jackson and used their Concierge service. Right from the start of the process the communication was excellent. I arranged for the transportation of my car to their HQ and provided all of the documentation and keys with the car and they confirmed safe receipt within the hour. The pictures and video then taken (approximately 300 !) were comprehensive of every angle and looked very professional The tailored description they provided was very comprehensive and I think really adds to the overall packaging and brings the car to life.

Throughout the 7 days during the auction I was updated regularly. Having spoken to a few members of the team including Fraser what comes across is a real passion for their business. At the end of the auction we achieved the upper end of the predicted guide price so I was very happy with this.

In summary, this is a very professional business with a team of people passionate about what they do and at the top of their game.

The presentation of the car via Bonhams auction review (by Consignment Specialist) with the presence of a new MOT certificate was far from what I actually purchased in reality.

The car I purchased via Bonhams and picked up in Oxford required 10.000 pounds of maintenance to at least pass an actual MOT test. Indicating a fraudulent MOT test being performed (by a company affiliated with the previous owner of the vehicle) about a week prior to auction sale and a worthless review performed by Bonhams specialist.

It was the opposite of the professional experience I expected.

BUYING & SELLING AT BONHAMs ON-LINE AUCTIONS

Not only was my recent experience first-class, but Bonhams generally achieve exceptionally high standards. Their name guarantees satisfaction - particularly in on-line auctions of cherished cars. Here, they are unsurpassed - both in quality of cars for sale and in their reviews of what the customer needs in order to bid. (Mr Paul Hegarty, in particular, is quite exceptionally thorough and analytical.) Their clients (sellers and buyers) are carefully chosen to maintain their reputation - and I must also mention the wonderful service I received from "Timeless Motor Cars Ltd". (Danny Sanger is outstanding in so many ways: sympathetic; kind; helpful; patient}. All qualities I admire (as an Auction Novice) - and Bonhams has established a useful link reflecting their high standard.

The problem I have got is with the description of a car I bid on and bought and the aftersale experience.

"As would be the loss of air-conditioning, were it not to have been fitted. It is though, so you will be able to remain calm and unruffled no matter what the weather outside is up to"

To me this means the car has air-conditioning and it is working. It was not working when I collected the car and I took it straight for a post purchase inspection to be told that there was no pressure in the system. Something more than needing a seasonal re-gas

I contacted Bonhams to ask how we can sort this out and was told it was between me and the seller. Not suprisingly the seller did not want to know and Bonhams quoted caveat emptor. Apparantly they hold no responsibilty for describing the cars they sell accurately. They replied to review I left on another review site by quoting misinformation that I was a trade seller. I am not in the motor trade and have bought 4 cars in 8 years. They seem to be happy to put incorrect infomation online and make no apology when this is pointed out to them.

Sold my classic car on Bonhams online and the whole experience was really easy . The photographer and the advert was really well put together. So definitely recommend Bonhams and the customer journey was excellent

Bonhams sold my car for what I wanted. I found the whole process straightforward and efficient with particularly helpful input in the final minutes of the auction.

I used the concierge service and everything went smoothly. My communications were quickly answered and the car sold for a price I was happy with.
The photos and presentation of the car were great. There was only one minor negative: I provided some corrections to the text on the website which I had to repeat before they were fully addressed.
