Absolutely unacceptable service. They confirmed a time with me the day before, then failed to show up and didn’t even bother to let me know. I wasted five hours of my Friday evening waiting for them. Completely disrespectful and I will never use them again.

Absolutely fantastic service! I had 6 massive bags of clothes and shoes most with tags on and they were due to pick up from my flat which is up some stairs between 4-9 this evening. I had a call at 4.39pm and he was 6 mins away. Which he was! It was one guy, I offered to help bring them to the van he said no he would do it no problem. Very happy with the service and hope they go to the most needed homes!

I’ve donated large bin bags that included good quality clothes but also loads of expensive designer items (including Prada dresses, Prada shoes and the likes)that I no longer wear. If I would have sold the designer things myself, I easily would have made £1,500 but I decided to donate. Big mistake. Years ago I donated to Traid too and I received an email sharing how much I sold which I can use for my tax return. I donated in June 2024 last year. As per now, November 2025 still no email. What happened to all my clothes? Did staff keep them? Staff privately sold them on and kept the money? I’ve emailed including the collection number a couple of times asking about my Gift aid - no response. Which to means my clothes have never been sold in their charity shop.

Rubbish. They dont turn up and don't have the manners to notify you! Was told they would come at a certain time the day before. Five hours wasted on a friday evening. Never again.

Have used Traid twice Never had a problem with collection

These guys are time wasters . You book a collection with them and they don't come. Then you receive a call or message asking to arrange a new appointment next week. It's happened with me twice.

Purchased some shorts from Camden store. Great experience. When I got home (70 miles away) realised there was a fault on them.

Contacted customer info email address and no response to date on this. Left with shorts I can't wear. This isnt a good customer experience.

Worst experience ever. I prepared a large number of black bin bags (12-15) with clothes to be donated, all carefully closed and protected from the rain and left them at my front porch two days before Traids was due to collect them because I had to leave London. I called to ask them to anticipate the collection as I thought people might go rummaging and opening the bags. They didn't seem to be interested at all and just called on the day of collection to say they would not collect any of the bags because some of them were partially open and wet. I had to send everything to waste. Never again with this totally unhelpful and useless company!

This company does not give refunds 'under any circumstances' only a credit note for a year. Considering they are a company operating in poor countries and areas of london i would assume they would treat their customers kindly considering most shop in charity shops as they are low on funds generally. All retailers give refunds now on unwanted goods, especially charity shops that offer refunds on items costing only a pound or two. Traid need to revise their refunds policy as the goods will probably be sold to someone else anyway. I left a bag of very good bric a brac which did not appear in the shop when questioned i was told they do not sell china items and they had gone to their warehouse somewhere in london. Why was it sent elsewhere? when they do not sell it - could not one of the staff have walked a few yards to another charity shop to drop it off. in general the shop in Lewisham needs to put a sign saying 'No Refunds' as i would not have bought the item if i had known this as i cannot afford to have a 7 pound credit note hanging around in case if find something suitable.

I have to just say both times Triad have come to collect clothes from me they have offered an excellent service from ordering collection to the process of collection has been 100% service. The driver today deserves a gold star for politeness and customer service.👍👍

What a waste of time.
First available appointment for collection was one whole week away. So my video doorbell caught driver trying to make collection at about 11am when appointment was 1600-2100 that day. I made arrangements to be there at 1600 but did anyone show up? Of course not. What a waste of my time.
Clothes disposed of with someone else.

I have witnessed the manager and other white staff in the peckham brunch talking down in a condescending manner to black customers. These Karens take great pleasure in expressing their racist dislikes for people that don't look like them. They talk very nice to people that look like them I have experienced and witnessed this many times.

TRAID Stores:

Trendy, expensive stores that are complicit with gentrification and social cleansing in areas that they operate in. Areas such as; Brixton, Lewisham, Dalston etc; where local people and families have been driven out of areas they grew up in, for all their lives, to accommodate the kind of residents that can afford to shop at TRAID.

This charity solely benefits causes abroad, not ones the UK - Despite child poverty being an issue in the United Kingdom.

Expensive infrastructure, staffing and overheads, that commandeer most of the profits that they are making, instead of benefitting the good causes that give them their 'charity' status.

This charity has monopolised a lot of clothing donations in London, depriving smaller charities, who struggle to benefit causes locally.

The staff in TRAID often appears to be middle-class British, or Euro-hipsters, rather than people local to the area. The kind of staff employed by TRAID are again outsiders moving to an area, willing to pay overpriced rent, adding to the problem aforementioned; of social cleansing and gentrification in the areas they operate in...

Despite the majority of staff being well-paid retail workers (as opposed to volunteers), they often have a poor attitude towards customers, because they are under the illusion that they're doing something selfless; simply because they work for a 'charity' - Behaviour that wouldn't be considered acceptable, from paid staff, at any regular corporate retail position.

Unlike a lot of other Charity shops, Traid does not appear to have staff with learning difficulties or disabilities.

I booked for clothes donation with Traid previously and they were good. I booked again early this week and they were supposed to collect it on Monday afternoon. I waited and waited but no sign of them - they sent confirmation email to say someone will collect it. I called the number on the email to check if the driver was coming to collect but the phone kept ringing.

Very disappointed with their service - I won’t be using them again.

I think Traid are amazing I always manage to get a bargain especially when they have their sale which is outstanding. My partner managed to get a jacket and 5 pairs of trousers in the sale for £24.00! He was very impressed

I am not taking anymore of my things to this shop. Never have I ever gotten a "thank you" or "thanks." This is plain rude. I rather walk the 200 yards with heavy bags to one if tge other shops.

On the 14th of November late afternoon I went to the Traid shop in Shepperbush (for the first time) and I was treated in a horrible way by the security guard. He was abusive and very rude. I had picked too many things to try in the changing rooms. He shouted at me and I felt he was accusing me of trying to steal something. I did not know the rules!! I spoke with the manager about the terrible manners but she apologized and said that she could not do anything about about it. She said that this man and other security guards had done the same before and it seemed that the company does not care about it. I got traumatize by the situation and I have not been able to go in any Traid shops since then. I am scared that I might find this man and he will start shouting at me with no reason. He uses his authority to abuse and denigrate clients. I have tried to contact the Traid management by email but no response.
Update: Trade has not contacted me since this terrible event. I am still traumatized by the experience and I will never go in this shop again!

Just an update…6 months later and no one contacted me. I have not been able to go to this shop again. It’s too horrible to remember the abuse I suffered there in November last year. I think I need a few years to overcome the trauma.
