This is our 3rd time doing Lake Como with the travel department and as usual the booking experience and organisation was exceptional. It's great to just turn up at Dublin airport and have everything organised with precision. Two of our highlights (among so many) was the exquisite breakfast in hotel Menagio by the lake and the Bernina express. We will do it again soon.

I travelled from Dublin to Bulgaria with a friend on 12th May - back to Dublin 20th May 20th 2026.we were arriving after and were told a cold platter would be there for us.- we were handed a brown paper bag with a croissant,a scone, pack of butter and jam. Also a banana,! The hotel in Nessebar resort ,classed a 5 star was a beautiful, bedroom very comfortable. BUT no kettle, minimum number of towels. No extras! There was a coffee machine along the corridor but the lights turned themselves off if there was no movement. I was standing with boiling water pouring into the cup and lights went off. - very unsafe.
Food was a disappointment - every meal self service. The hot food was not hot. More or less the same menu for two weeks.
My friend had a painful hip and could not come down for her food one day. I asked at reception if it could be taken up to her only to find out there was no room service. I was handed a tray, l had collected the food and carry it myself up several floors. I could not work the lift as both hands were holding the tray. A man who did not speak English came along and by nodding he managed to put me in the lift and push the button for my floor. I had to repeat this for each meal. Certainly not 5 star!!
The tours,guide and people were good.

Our Trip to Lake Maggiore was an excellent trip. Travel Department do it very well and especially their tour guides, they are always excellent and really approachable, helpful, uplifting people. The Hotel was a lovely family run, friendly, perfect hotel. Food was excellent. Bedroom was bright and airy and spotless. The atmosphere in the hotel was very good, the staff were excellent in every way. We really enjoyed the whole holiday.

We’re just home after a week spent in Lake Como and used the Travel Department for our organised tours.
Our guide was Carol - all we can say is such a big thank you for making our holiday and all the tours so very enjoyable! Your friendliness, fun and knowledge was amazing! We’ve never had a holiday before with pre-organised tours but this certainly won’t be our last! Thank you so much Carol, you’re one lovely lady!

Excellent holiday in Prague. Hotel is top class. Tour guide bursting with knowledge, information and advice. She was excited to help with absolutely anything. Highly recommend this trip.

Our guide was excellent and very accommodating. The hotel was in need of refurbishment but was clean and the air conditioning in the room was fantastic and we had ample hot water. We didn’t have a balcony which was disappointing but it was so hot it was unlikely that we would have sat out on it anyway. Hotel location was excellent. Breakfast was adequate.

Well organised, excellent guides and easily contacted. Seat selection and allocation of flight seats could improve. Excellent company

Another wonderful holiday in Italy organised by Travel Department. This year we headed to Lake Maggiore. Right from check in at Dublin Airport until we returned a week later everything went like clockwork. Air-conditioned coaches doing transfers and waiting at the hotel to take you on some fantastic day trips. A beautiful hotel right on the lake with great views and wonderful staff and food. A tour guide called Carolyn who was so knowledgeable on everything and very caring for some of the guests a little less mobile than the rest. A perfect holiday and hopefully we will see you all next summer.

We got to visit exactly what we wanted to see with enough time to relax and enjoy each place. The tour guide was excellent. The hotel was adequate but one gripe would be having to pre-order our evening meals so far in advance. It did cause a bit of confusion otherwise a great holiday.

Recently back from Cape Town, Garden Route and Safari. A truely fabulous and memorable trip. This is our 5th trip with TD and the guides just keep getting better. Nicolette our guide was superb and completely passionate about South Africa. She ensured that everyone in the group had the best experience possible. Highly recommend this package. We were there in SA winter with mixed weather, absolutely no problem to our Irish group.

We had a very enjoyable trip to South Africa in June .The Travel Department were excellent throughout the entire process .Our local rep Nicolette was brilliant .She was so attentive and made sure that our trip went without a hitch .Our driver Sivu was very punctual and a safe driver .The Safari trip was unforgettable. Our guide Trust lived up to his name on more than one occasion ! He went out of his way to make sure that we saw the Big 5 and more .There were 14 travellers in our group .They contributed to many of the happy memories that we have of our trip . We would recommend this trip and The Travel Department highly .

A fabulous week in Sorrento looked after by the wonderful Cinzia. We love the Travel Department and will be booking again next year. The Sorrento, Amalfi coast and Pompeii holiday was stunning. We felt we had seen so much in a week while still enjoying down time on our rest days. If you’re looking for want a great sightseeing holiday without any stress you couldn’t go wrong with the Travel Department

Allways wanted to visit Tuscany Italy . Travel Department made everything so easy.
