When buying the more expensive bits for my computer I tend to go to companies like Crucial rather than something off of eBay where the provenance might not be so easily traced.

I've used them many times.

Great trusted product at reasonable


Great trusted product at reasonable price.
The only reason for dropping off a star is that the website is a .co.uk website and the company appears to be based in Ireland, but the item was despatched from mainland Europe and got delayed at customs by one day (no duty to pay, phew!).
I did not realise this possibility at the time of ordering, or I wouldn't have paid extra for quicker delivery that didn't really happen, though in fairness it was still only three days

SSD purchased for Laptop didn't work.

I purchased an SSD for a laptop in early July. The SSD didn't work and after much protracted chat with 'Support', it was returned for credit. I was asked to send it back using Royal Mail Special Delivery (which I paid for and cannot apparently get refunded). 3 weeks later, I have still not had a refund for the SSD. In further chat, I have been told that "The refund has been created but not initiated yet" and "I shall now escalate this to the internal team in order to update the RMA status and release the refund amount". I await the refund with bated breath! The SSD which I subsequently bought from another well known on-line supplier was installed and worked first time - no hassle.

Rishabh 5* advisor!

I own a Lenovo gaming laptop, I have been looking to upgrade the storage with a new SSD drive.

I had initially consulted Lenovo and a number of different companies who told me the maximum size of drive I could have is 1TB.

I later found crucial can advise you on which of their products would be suitable and it had drives as large as 4TB available for my laptop.

This lead to me contacting Lenovo and several different companies to find out if a 4TB crucial SSD would be suitable for my gaming laptop.

All of them told me the maximum was 1TB in a copy and pasted rushed conversation.

I then later received a response from Crucial and an advisor called Rishabh.

The advisor told me they had personally looked into the matter and consulted third party advice/information online and had verified that it is correct a 4TB drive will work on my laptop.

This has now meant while I wait on the delivery I don't have to worry about if it is suitable anymore.

Rishabh is the only person I had spoken to today who had really understood what my question was and had a genuine interest in using the industry expertise they had to give me tailored advice to reach a solution.

I will be sure to keep crucial in mind when it comes to my next PC build in early 2025, great company and great people representing the company.

5* experience today for Rishabh!!

Not in stock, not told in time

I hate giving poor reviews, but something went wrong and Crucial managed it to suit themselves. Item, price, support on 'chat' excellent if long-winded, I ordered an SSD which was urgently needed. No problems flagged up. Then I got an email from Digital River saying (in a lot of words) it was not in stock and I had to wait a few days. No options offered, not told that I hadn't been charged yet. A week later I got emails saying the SSD was on its way and I had just been charged. It arrived, looked fine, but no 3.5" carrier that I expected with it. The need arose from my use of a heritage software programme that I rely on for drawing maps. Please supply me with a senior Crucial executive who I can instruct for several hours on drawing plans to scale by hand. Pain brings gain, and improvement.
