Not worth it

Not a bad product in terms of user interface but the ads far overpromise in terms of results. I have a very generic job title and was applied to very few jobs even in the 3 month product. I had only 1 interview request and 0 interviews from my 3 month investment. Would not recommend.

If it sounds too good to be true.....

The advert on FB (from an HR leader whose advice I have been listening to) suggested that the jobs were fresh (they're not) and that your success at landing interviews was almost a foregone conclusion (lol). Within 24 hours, I knew I was in the wrong place. I have now cancelled service, within the first 30 days. Let's see if the "money back guarantee" means anything.

Completely waste of money! Do not buy!

This app might have a good idea behind it but is so far away from making it happen. It completely lies and invents a bunch of stuff when applying for jobs on your behalf. It just copies words from the job description inventing that you have expertise in that field of work. I had no positive feedback, 0 calls , 0 interviews after applying to almost 200 jobs.
The app needs to be thoroughly tested before requesting money from people. Don’t waste your money on it like I did!

MASSIVE WASTE

It applied me to a bunch of jobs that were hybrid or in-person, but NOWHERE near where I lived. It did not seem to do a good job choosing roles that matched my profile. They are also not terribly transparent about how many jobs they'll apply you to for your hefty investment. For $300, I got 107 applications and a single interview. MASSIVE waste of money.

STAY AWAY FROM MASSIVE!!!

I signed up with Massive about six months ago. I’ve gotten exactly one screening interview. I have gotten 100s of rejection emails, though, primarily from jobs outside of my skillset.

The big issue came several days ago, when I received an email from Massive saying I had a message from an employer. I tried to log in to look at the message, and all I got was a blank screen. I had the same issue with a second browser.

I notified Massive and IT got back to me the next day. The clock was ticking on responding to that employer, but whatever. I sent IT the screenshot they asked for, and nothing from them until EOB. Tick tick.

The message from IT told me to do exactly what I had done before. I was frustrated, but immediately did it. That was two days ago and all I’ve heard is confirmation that IT received the screenshot. I emailed Dan, who seems to be in charge, and crickets.

If the email was from a viable opportunity, I’m sure the opportunity is gone now.

Wendy -- while this was months ago, it sounds like the worst experience ever! I just looked into the email chain and it looks like the email was from a company that we removed from our platform (which is why it wasn't displaying). We regularly monitor and remove companies if they're MLM's/commission-only positions (and don't advertise as such), or look scammy in any way. I want to make sure you're not getting your time wasted with bad opportunities and this was probably one of them!

As for lack of interviews -- email me if you're still looking! Dan@usemassive.com. Most folks land a lot of interviews but some don't and it usually boils down to resume and the jobs you're applying to. If you're open to it, I'd love to review your resume, filters, and jobs you've applied for. We'll identify what we can improve and I can set you up with a free 3 months to try again with the improvements!

Misleading Free Trial – Charged $150 Without Consent

I signed up for what was clearly advertised as a free trial, only to be hit with a $150 charge out of nowhere. There was no clear warning, no confirmation, and no transparent communication about when the trial would end or that I'd be billed.

This kind of practice feels deceptive and predatory. I had no intention of continuing beyond the trial, and I certainly didn’t authorize a payment of this amount.

$240 and not a single interview

$240 or so to not get a single interview after 340+ applications in a field where I have seven years of experience is wild. My interview rate applying manually via LinkedIn is way higher.

Nice UI, AI applies to irrelevant jobs

While the UI was really nice, I had some issues with the types of jobs it was applying for. For instance, I work in field X and it was applying for jobs in Y and Z, making the applications not helpful. I tried it a few times, hoping that it would fix itself, but it did not. Additionally, on one of the applications, when asked about citizenship, the AI said something along the lines of "The user does NOT require sponsorship." If you're an employer and see that, a few red flags are going to go off, because no normal person would refer to themselves as "the user". That's a bit embarrassing to have to read that, as it's my name that's on the application and ultimately I'll have to explain why that's there, if they inquire about it. They likely won't, though, because that's not a field I work in. Anyways, I've been requesting a full refund for a few days now (I cancelled just a day after I began my subscription) and have been offered a partial refund, which, based on the things I've outlined in this review, is not appropriate nor acceptable. Since requesting an escalation for a full refund, I've not heard anything from anyone (including the CEO whom I've emailed explaining my concerns). Again, I liked the UI, but the product does not meet my needs at this time. I hope this helps someone who is curious about this service - and if you are trying it out and don't like it, make sure you do not submit more than 85 applications or you will not be able to get a full refund. This was not disclosed when I signed up, so hopefully this saves someone else the trouble.

Editing to update: I just received a full refund. I appreciate that, and wanted to give credit where due. Thank you for that.

Hey Kris! Sorry about speed of customer service -- working on that now! We also dialed in our matching with a brand new matching algo and match score so you're getting applied only to relevant jobs. This will always be our top focus and we're still working on it today. Also we've completely overhauled both the LLMs we use and the system prompt to make sure those "user" comments don't happen again. Sorry for the bad experience and hope we can earn back your trust in the future!

DO NOT PURCHASE - False promises

I paid for the monthly subscription and was prommised 5 interviews. The system applied to tons of jobs but landed one interview request out of the 100 applications. Then after the cancelation I wasnt even able to go in and view the jobs that it applied for. I lost complete access to the account... what did I pay for? I attempted to go back into the website to find a contact but it keeps on making me sign up and pay again which i do not want to do. This has been a terrible experience and for someone that needs the money right now it is ridiculous how complicated and expensive it is to just download my unsuccessful applications.

Additionally the software applied to the same job multiple times.

We don't and have never promised 5 interviews -- because sometimes, people just don't land interviews. Even the most qualified folks on Massive get an interview rate around 10% (1 interview every 10 applications). It's a tough market! For most, it takes dozens of applications to land a single interview and 2 things are critical in improving interview rate:
1) A great resume
2) Applying to perfect-fit jobs

We have features to help with both now (custom resume + match score) so we can help new members land more interviews. We also restored access to critical features once you cancel now, totally agree we should have done this before!

STAY AWAY!! you're better off quick applying for 10 minutes on indeed

Had high hopes for this service to automate my job search and was met with zero results and equal customer experience. I am a qualified BA currently working on global tech initiatives I dont generally have a hard time finding opportunities but I also don't have much time to apply so I decided to give the upgraded service a try not realizing it is not covered by the same trial as the basic service (you would think it would have a better guarantee if its truly a better service). As this is a premium service you would expect that you would get premium results instead I got around 170 applications submitted and the only follow up I've received were 5 requests for demographic information not a single call and 0 interviews. When I reached out to request a refund as the 14 days i expected to be the trial period was approaching I was told that they would only refund me 10 dollars because their automated process applied to more than 50 jobs, what a joke if you stand behind your service stand behind results not valueless actions. STAY AWAY!! you're better off quick applying for 10 minutes on indeed.

Oof this is so tough and I'm sorry we couldn't help. Some folks on Massive don't land interviews, even after a ton of applications! For starters, the average interview rate is around 3 % right now which means it takes 30+ applications to land a single interview. The people landing lots of interviews always have 2 things in common:
1) a great, non-generic resume that clearly shows why they're a perfect fit for the roles they're applying to
2) applications sent only to jobs where they're a perfect fit

Tried it for maybe 1 hour

Tried it for maybe 1 hour, free trial. Attempted to find a fitting opportunity & then, no more jobs. In ALL of the United States? The app was completely empty. I need something robust, solid, or I won't even waste my time. Too busy with everything else that's going on in life.

Waste of time; they launched this well before it was ready

I canceled my account during the free trial and for some reason keep receiving interview requests for jobs that didn’t even meet my criteria to begin with. I’ve reached out to Dan (and a Danylo) several times to ask why my resume is still being sent out and to stop and was told a few times “it would get taken care of” except I’m still getting interview request emails and texts from scam companies who have received my resume and contact info and Dan and Danylo have now just stopped responding. Got another “you have an interview request” email this morning though. There’s not even a stop emails or unsubscribe option on those.

Last week, we also removed more than 300 companies that didn't meet our strict criteria for verification and have implemented strict controls before uploading new companies to Massive.

Scam? Massive has never worked for me except to take my money.

1) Massive has never worked. Of at least four jobs I've asked it to apply to, the system seems to have issues with processing the requests. Only two maximum seem to have gone through, but the dashboard only recorded one as going through. No explanation for the applications that disappeared.
2) Massive does not seem to be identifying job postings in my field. The majority of the total 18-19 jobs it has identified during my trial are out of date/expired. That number, already far too low for the intended service to be provided, seems inflated.
3) Massive billed me before the end of my four-day trial.

I've asked for a refund but I haven't received a response from Massive.

Hi Bradley! We do not bill before the end of the four-day trial. Our payment processor, Stripe (the #1 payment processor in the world) bills you automatically at the end of the 4-day free trial, as it has for tens of thousands of trials before yours. You also get a reminder before it's billed.

Also, you gave us less than 12 hours to give you a refund while threatening us with a bad review. You requested a refund on Saturday, February 8th at 7pm then wrote this review on Sunday at 7am, less than 12 hours after your request. There's not a single company in existence that can offer that type of response time.

We provided a refund today, Monday, February 10th. Our Customer Support team works M-F 10-6p ET, not on weekends.

As for jobs failing, Massive successfully applies to ~80% of jobs right now. Some jobs fail as a result of Captchas or stale postings, which are explained in the "failed" tab. We're working hard to decrease our failure rate to less than 10% in the next few weeks.

Great idea, poor execution

I so badly wanted to love Massive, but unfortunately, they can’t deliver. The premise is incredible: automatically apply to the right and newest jobs every single day, but this is far from what happens.

For starters, the job matches are, at best, average. They used to be better, but there is no shortage of MLM companies, companies where the job is from a different company than what is displayed in the UI, and just outright scam companies. The CEO bragged about all these new jobs that they added, but who cares if they’re from bad companies?

Secondly, the auto apply feature simply does not work. Some days it will, others it won’t, but I can’t rely on it. Just this weekend it failed. I wanted to use Massive because I wanted it to be the type of platform I wouldn’t have to check up on but it’s so unreliable that I need to check every single day if it worked or not.

The email system itself is unbelievably bad. It doesn’t categorize half the emails, and the ones it does are only right half the time to the point where I have to manually check each email. Yes, I can forward to my own email, but then why even create this service? I get notifications about follow ups and interviews and they’re false alarms half the time.

The jobs that I’d actually want an interview with conveniently are the only ones that fail. It borderline feels like a bait-and-switch. The quality of job applications is horrible—it says I need a visa half the time when I don’t. And why does it take 2 minutes to reload the page?

Someone is going to solve this problem, but unfortunately, I'm not sure that it's going to be these guys or this team. It’s all ideas with no execution or any type of quality control. Things that should just work, unfortunately, don’t. I have not tried the other auto apply services fully yet, but AI Apply and Loop CV seem to have a much higher level for quality. But I’d just use ChatGPT Operator as it gets better at this point.

It seems like the CEO reads these reviews, so take this as a word of caution: you are focusing on all the wrong things. The only reason I’d use Massive as AI Agents, such as ChatGPT’s operator, become prevalent is if the quality + ease of use was better from Massive, which currently it is not. If you want a chance to succeed, focus on the quality of your product. Massive is too expensive for what it’s delivering. Your pricing has been going up while AI Agents have been bringing pricing down. Your quality has been going down while models have been getting better. Your web app infrastructure is slow and your UI is unintuitive.

tldr; great concept, bad execution by the team, use other tools

Ugh I'm so sorry to hear about the bad experience. We're releasing huge updates for each of these items this week + next. We're gonna make massive great or die trying.

Let me review just to make sure I got it right:
1) jobs not properly matched - we just released a totally revamped matching algorithm on Friday for all new users. It's REALLY good. Existing users get it tomorrow, excited for you to try.

2) Scam companies - hiring scams are exploding! We're verifying each company on Massive by cross-checking their investors, website records and employees (shipping on Friday).

3) Autopilot not working - We just created a system of alerts and automatic retries when Autopilot goes down. Last weekend is the last time this happens.

4) Email categorization - working on it right now. Shipping tomorrow!

5) Jobs failing - currently about 20% of jobs fail to apply. Next week, we'll retry failed jobs or -- if it needs more info to complete -- ask you for that info then retry. This should bring failure rate down to 5%.

6) app quality -- my team and i review hundreds of apps by hand every week but I'll download the last 100k apps and take a pass on JUST that question right now.

7) Pricing is too high - I know, working on it. We'll release new pricing and packaging in a few weeks, this is on our list immediately after the updates above.
