Vertex Renewable Surveys Ltd is an independent, survey-only renewable energy assessment company based in Doncaster, South Yorkshire, serving installers and homeowners across the UK. We do one thing: we survey. We don't sell heat pumps, solar panels, batteries or heat loss calculations as part of an install package — which means our reports are genuinely independent. Our customers get the evidence they need to make a decision, not a sales pitch dressed up as a survey. Every job we take on produces a Vertex pack: photos, measurements, room-by-room heat loss calculations (MIS3005-D aligned), cylinder and pipework assessments, noise and siting checks, and a written report delivered through our secure portal — usually the same week as the site visit. For installer companies, we work as an outsourced survey team. Same-week turnaround, fixed per-pack pricing, consistent pack structure across every job, and no competing commercial interest in the install outcome. For homeowners, we provide a one-off independent survey they can share with any installer they choose. We cover England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, with a home base in Yorkshire. Ashp+heat loss survey done by Ste
I recently had an air source heat pump and heat loss survey carried out by Ste at Vertex Surveys, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience.
From the moment he arrived, Ste took the time to explain exactly how heat pumps work in a way that was easy to understand. He also gave me plenty of advice on how I can improve the efficiency of my home, which I found incredibly helpful.
Ste is very friendly and chatty, making the whole visit relaxed and enjoyable. His knowledge and professionalism really stood out, and it was clear he genuinely cares about helping customers make the right decisions.
I would highly recommend Vertex Surveys, and especially Ste, to anyone considering an air source heat pump or needing a heat loss survey. Fantastic service from start to finish!

Great customer service l
Great customer service and very helpful. Explained the report in layman’s terms and helped me with how to approach installers. Also willing to re-adjust values after I complete the recommended insulation improvements to ensure I get the correct heat pump.

Once the recommended insulation improvements have been completed, we’ll be happy to review and update the figures to ensure the heat pump is correctly sized. We’ll also amend the heat pump selection within the report to match the manufacturer and model offered by whichever installer you decide to proceed with.

Last survey but not least…
Despite being the last survey in a very busy day, Steven was very enthusiastic, and knowledgable. He explained the purpose of survey very clearly and ensured that we knew exactly what he needed to do and then got on with it. He was very polite, more than willing to explain what he was doing and why and efficient.

The surveyor that visited was both professional, efficient and friendly and happy to answer any questions I had regarding Installation unit ownership and costs.
He stayed as long as was needed but was working the whole time we were talking.
He explained next steps clearly and I would recommend Steve as an excellent source of Information for the solar installation process

I invited 4 companies to offer prices
I invited 4 companies to offer prices, but only 3 followed my instructions. Vertex and two others were all very thorough and knew their product inside out, which was very pleasing, hence the 4 star rating. Of course, surveys, whilst extremely important, don't provide the price, the can have an effect on it. I've yet to decide who to go with, but Vertex Surveys were very good.
