I had a great experience buying my car from Hyundai Virtue in Edinburgh. The service was both professional and genuinely friendly from start to finish. What really stood out to me was that the team focused on giving honest and thoughtful recommendations, not trying to upsell or make extra money, but making sure I chose the car that suited my needs best. That made the whole process feel trustworthy and personal.
I would also highly recommend them because of their warranty. It’s a real, full guarantee, clearly explained and transparent, not one of those warranties with lots of small print and hidden limitations. That level of honesty and clarity really sets them apart from many other dealers and makes them feel a step above the rest.

Vertu Motors Edinburgh East sold me a used Peugeot 308 whose engine failed less than two days later, on a busy motorway, forcing a dangerous manoeuvre onto the hard shoulder. A nightmarish 5-hour ordeal followed, culminating in the car being towed back to Edinburgh. This took place in a rural area, in sub-zero temperatures, on New Year’s Day, when garages are closed. Had I not had an AA rescue policy my passengers and I could have frozen to death on the roadside.
While the manager arranged a refund when the store re-opened the next day, I did not receive more than a cursory verbal apology and have so far received no written apology, despite the seriousness of the situation, which literally put lives at risk, not to mention all the time wasted in the process of finding and purchasing the car.
As the car had less than a month to go before its annual service was due I had been promised in writing that it would be serviced before release. However I learned just before delivery (after asking multiple times) that this had not been actioned. Instead they promised a ‘free’ service in February, which in later small print was just a £250 ‘discount’ on a service. I later discovered that the same car had experienced engine failure in July 2025 resulting on a breakdown and recovery.
This persistent evasiveness, coupled with being sold a car which was obviously not roadworthy, means that I am unable to recommend this garage and would advise caution on the part of any future buyer.

I am Extremely happy with my purchase and would highly recommend Vertu Motors to anyone looking for a stress -free professional car buying experience .

I look after two Hyundai i20’s on behalf of my sons who work away. Both cars had different mechanical issues, and both needed a service and an MOT. Using the Vertu central reservations, I booked them into Hyundai Edinburgh. When I arrived via the AA with the first, undrivable, car at Edinburgh East, Lauren couldn’t find my reservation. She soon identified the problem – they were booked into Edinburgh West! After I explained the complexities of my situation, Lauren immediately took control, booked both cars in and handled all the diagnostics, price quotes, payment options, storage and delivery etc. while I was on holiday. Nothing was too much trouble for her, and everything was sorted with a smile. Fantastic service that is hard to find anywhere these days. Thank you Lauren.
