Bruno and Viamar International shipping company have been very professional,knowledgeable and helpful in process of shipping my car and goods to Europe .
I would rate Viamar Scilla 5 stars and would definitely recommend doing business with them.
Took over 6 months to get the shipment
I am submitting this complaint regarding my extremely negative experience with Viamar and its associated partners.
From the outset, the company demonstrated serious internal disorganization and lack of communication. I was explicitly informed by Monica from Viamar that my account was fully paid and cleared. However, at a later stage, Domenic from the same company claimed that payment had not been completed and had to reconfirm internally with Monica. This reflects a troubling lack of coordination within the company.
Throughout the process, there were repeated disputes regarding unexpected and additional charges. I was assessed a “long-distance fee” under the claim that the moving truck would not be able to access my street. Prior to delivery, I provided multiple videos and photographs clearly showing that the truck could access the location without issue. Despite this documented evidence, I was told the charge could still apply.
On delivery day, the truck was parked directly across the street from my residence, confirming that the additional fee was unjustified. Nevertheless, I was required to pay the fee in order to obtain release of my belongings. This felt coercive, as my property was effectively being withheld pending additional payment.
The shipment took over six months to arrive. During this period, communication was inconsistent and accountability was lacking. Due to the prolonged delays and uncertainty regarding the status of my shipment, I was compelled to file a police report out of concern that I might never receive my belongings.
When my shipment finally arrived, a substantial portion of my furniture was damaged. The condition of the items suggests inadequate care during transport and handling. This has resulted in further financial loss, as repairs and replacements will now be necessary.
Overall, this experience has caused significant financial harm, stress, and inconvenience. The pattern of disorganization, unexplained additional fees, delayed delivery, and damaged goods reflects serious operational and customer service failures.
Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Viamar and would strongly caution others to proceed carefully before engaging their services.

Vehicle shipping Toronto to Netherlands
Greetings all, just wanna let you know that I have successfully shipped my Volkswagen golf GTI from Canada to the Netherlands in July 2025. Currently driving in Slovenia with no issues. It was easily homologated and just wanna give a shout out to Bruno and the boys over at the warehouse near Courtice ON that secured my vehicle for the long trip ahead. I opted for less than container load and I had specified my vehicle to be the last in the container, which meant it would be the first vehicle unloaded.
The process in Netherlands was a lot of running around with their paperwork, but you do it once you know how to do it properly the second time. That’s kind of the bureaucracy of the EU, Nothing to do with Canada.
Bruno advised me of the cost associated on the EU side and specifically said we are not responsible for those costs in charges that you incur so it was clear in my head that there was some other small fees on the EU side…Just wanna let you all know that because there are some reviewers that are giving ViaMar a poor review.
With my case, it was smooth and easy. Yes there was a small delay, leaving Montreal, but this was due to the Formula One that usually happens in June and they have priority over everyone else in terms of logistic shipping.
Good job guys,good job Bruno thank you. Will consider shipping one more vehicle in summer of 2027.

They send you a really good quote, price looks reasonable. At the end you will pay 3-4 times higher price.
They ask you to drop the car on a specific day because it will be shipped next day. Then, they keep your shipment for a few weeks and send you an expensive invoice for the storage.
If you want to collect your shipment, you have to pay a hidden fee, which is more than double than the original price.
They quoted us for $1,400 to ship a car to Europe. Viamar asked us to drop the car on a specified day and told us tha car will be loaded in the next 2 days.
The car had been there for 3 weeks and they sent us a storage fee of $344.
When the car arrived to the European port, we had to pay $1,800 for the handling… they said they don’t have any information of the destination charges and they are unable to communicate with the destination agent to get this information.

If I could give this business zero stars, that would be ideal. I had written a previous review but it was taken down by Trustpilot as I used unsavoury language. If you had been as shabbily treated, you would swear too. Our experience with them for a move to Italy was all sunshine and roses till the money was handed over and then it was zilch till the goods arrived in Italy. We were asked to sign documents with pages and pages of cover-yourself clauses, which lets face it, you have to do with absolutely every business these days. Our expectation, dealing with a company that purports to be Italian import specialists, was that we would be forewarned about Italian procedures. We got nothing from Viamar. When the goods arrived, because we had not been informed to request a personal goods tax exemption, customs deemed that there were thousands owed in import duties on what were used household goods such as cooking implements and used clothing. John at Viamar went out of his way to be dismissive, rude and insulting in his correspondence with me. It was only through the good graces of the customs agent that we were able to declare the goods as used and for personal use thereby avoiding the import charges. Run a mile from this company.
Trans-Atlantic electric vehicle shipment
I used Viamar Scilla's services to ship my electric vehicle from Ontario to Eastern Europe. Bruno, at Viamar Scilla, was very responsive throughout the entire process, from the initial quote, through the actual shipment, to receipt at destination, and even after the shipment was completed. Often times, responses to my questions came within minutes of me sending them. No relocation is ever perfect, but Bruno and his colleagues' strong communication meant that any hiccups that arose were quickly addressed. I would highly recommend Viamar Scilla's services for international electric vehicle shipment.

Extremely disappointing service and no accountability
I shipped my vehicle through Viamar Scilla Transport International Inc. and had a truly frustrating experience.
Despite paying for insurance, my car arrived with significant damage — including a large dent on the hood, two tires damaged by strapping, and a broken rear spring clearly caused by improper securing during shipping.
I immediately reported the issue with detailed photos taken before I took possession of the vehicle and was in continuous contact with Domenic Fortugno, Monica Jimenez, and Bruno Fortugno. I provided everything requested and even followed up multiple times over several weeks, but my messages were largely ignored once I raised the damage and insurance claim.
It’s been disappointing to see no resolution or accountability, despite doing everything by the book. I would strongly caution anyone considering Viamar Scilla to be extremely careful — even with insurance, their communication and support after delivery have been unacceptable.

Disorganized from start to finish
Contacted Viamar for our move from Ontario to Scotland.
Was quoted for 200 cubic feet of household goods (on a 7’x4’x7’ pallet)
I marked the area in the garage and packed exactly in those measurements, because I didn’t want to have to pay more for going over our allotted amount.
I was told the crate would leave mid July, and they would pick up the beginning of July.
Pick up scheduled for July 4th.
The movers were quick and professional and had everything loaded quickly.
After that zero communication from viamar until August 10th saying that the ship had departed August 2 (so not mid July), with an extra charge for extra cubic footage. (which you can’t argue with when you weren’t the one packing it, and didn’t receive any photos showing the overage… fine)
It got held up in Rotterdam in customs, and then again in England. (not their fault at all ~ I understand that they have no control over customs and inspections)
Communication was horrible during the entire thing. We ended up reaching out to them for updates because they were not keeping us up to date while things were being delayed for weeks in customs.
Finally get a delivery date ~ October 2. (this was 3 months after the boxes left our house.)
Truck arrives and the boxes are tossed all over the back of the truck. They had used one rope to tie down the boxes, and the rope broke, so everything was all over the place.
Every single box was damaged, ripped or crushed. My husband’s toolbox was broken, as well as 7 picture frames, 2 sculptures, and 2 kitchen storage containers, a clock, and some plastic storage containers. (and one of the boxes had been eaten through by a mouse or rat, and they ate through my husband’s pants that were in the box…)
I thought, its ok ~ Afterall we paid for the $20,000 insurance coverage….
Nope ~ that only covers total loss of all of your belongings.
One of our boxes also had someone else's name and address sticker on it. (how does that even happen?)
They also lost 1 of our boxes (presumably the one that “didn’t fit” on our pallet) ~ reached out multiple times via email ~ and I was told that they would look for the box at their Toronto warehouse. (Last communication from them was October 9, 2024 ~ this review posted October 22, 2024)
Beware of overage and bad communication
It all started well but quickly fell apart, I finally got my stuff delivered late and stuck with a bill to pay more money near the end to get my stuff... some of the stuff I might add so damaged that it was no longer usable so not only did I have to pay more money but I also had to pay money to dispose of those items as there were damaged to a point of total loss.. for which I might add I was sold total loss insurance that apparently does not cover that ... surprise.
My reaching out to them did not help as I was ignored time and time again until I posted a review on Google, only then did I hear back .. I asked is that they refund me the overage I had to pay because soo many large items were structurally destroyed.
Still ongoing as like a child they are ignoring my emails again .. not really the way to deal with things
If the items that were destroyed were all put together that would have put me way under volume and not resulted in me having to pay over $500 extra at the last min before they would deliver.
I don't suppose I will get a response from this either based on the lack of response I have had the past fee months

I recently shipped a vehicle to the UAE and Viamar offered me a shared container option which was incredibly economical. They also gave me a quote for a 20' container with just my car but I wasn't in a rush and it was a big price difference, so I went with the shared option. The whole process was so easy I couldn't believe it! I spoke with a few freight forwarders and I could tell some of them were not experienced with car shipping but when I spoke to Bruno I could tell he was very knowledgeable and gave a lot of valuable information. All in all, price was great and the process was great. Most importantly my vehicle arrived in the same condition that I left it at their warehouse. Will definitely recommend.
