We have recently completed St. Cuthbert’s Way. Matthew Williams put together a great itinerary. The baggage collection and delivery all worked well and where we needed taxis these were always reliable. Communication throughout was quick and efficient.
The highlight of the trip was walking The Pilgrims Route to Holy Island and staying there overnight. In the morning we had the Island almost to ourselves before the day trippers arrived. A great experience. Thankyou.

This was our first walking holiday. Well organised, helpful information and clear itinerary provided. Only comments are that it was a little late arriving, I had to chase for the pack which arrived a week before the holiday (rather than the 3-4 weeks as advertised). At our last hotel we had a separate bathroom rather than an ensuite as expected. Neither of these are major issues and we would highly recommend Walk with Williams and use them again. All communications were responded to promptly. We walked the Yorkshire Dale's Way and had just about every weather condition going so it was a bit tough at times but exhilarating and a great sense of achievement was felt by is both at the end. Accommodation booked for us ranged from good to excellent, notably Shepherds Cottage at Winshaw, the lovely Kate made us so welcome. All hosts, whether a b&b, boutique hotel or pub were great, Matthew had communicated my dietary requirements (Coeliac)when booking and each accommodation were able to cater for me. Baggage transfers worked very smoothly, no issues at all.

Walk with Williams were very straightforward to deal with. All the accommodation was comfortable and of an appropriate standard. Everything seemed well organised.

I walked Hadrian’s Wall Path from west to east over six days. It was a great experience and enlightening to see how brilliant the Romans were with their construction work.
The organisation by Walkwithwilliams was perfect. Accommodation was very good and when not close to Wall taxis were prepaid. I would not hesitate in recommending Walkwithwilliams to anybody going on a walking holiday.

Altogether we enjoyed this experience. The price Williams quoted us compared well with other operators. The organisation was efficient and unobtrusive. I will certainly be contacting Williams first if planning another walk. My one reservation was about the last hour on the first day - and it may be that there were no alternatives - when we were directed off the coastal path along a tarmac road for 1 1/2 miles to an ordinary B & B in a dull village.

St Cuthbert's Way.The accommodation was very good, and catered well for our dog. The taxis were always on time and were flexible too. The luggage transfer worked perfectly. Map and guide book provided were very helpful, even though route is well waymarked. The itinerary was thorough and well planned. Overall a great experience.

This was a last minute booking so did not give Matthew and his team much time to arrange accommodation. They did very well. Other than a minor issue with one pub only accepting payment on arrival everything went smoothly. Standard was understandably a little mixed due to the short notice but absolutely fine. Luggage transfer went without a hitch and Matthew was on hand to answer any queries I had. The walk itself was enjoyable with many distractions for me in terms of bird and wildlife. This was my first time with Walk with Williams and won't be the last. Recommended.

The walk across Hadrians Wall was a fantastic experience, the weather was beautiful to make it very enjoyable.

Walk with Williams was very well organised, plenty of updates keeping us informed. The final work pack with maps and information was sent. During the walk we couldn’t fault anything, B&Bs booked, taxis on time, and baggage moved, and waiting at our next overnight stay.
Also very competitive with the price, compared to other companies.

Would definitely use walk with Williams again.

What a brilliant walk! This is our 4th walk in 4 years using Walk with Williams and once again it was a flawlessly executed 18 days. We were fortunate to have perfect weather for the entire time, so that of course made even the hard days a pleasure. Matthew did a wonderful job with the accommodations, which ranged from good to outstanding. We asked for a rest day in Richmond, which was a lovely treat and gave us a chance to do some off trail exploring. The best and most unexpected part of walking the C2C is the camaraderie among the walkers. It was wonderful and we leave with lots of new contacts from all over the world and future walking plans with new friends.

The company were very helpful and communicative. Some of the places to stay were lovely, others a bit more basic. I loved the Black Bull at Lowick and the Yetholm Bothy. The advice about where to get food was very helpful. The walk itself was wonderful - highly recommended. I would have preferred to get the itinerary pack a little earlier and I wouldn’t have bought a copy of the Cicerone guide if I’d known it was included. No other criticisms. Thank you!

Highly recommend Walking with Williams

Matthew was helpful, flexible and unbelievably responsive to the slightest hiccup during the trip. As a party of 5, travelling with another 2, he worked wonders getting us accommodation together 8 nights out 9 and keeping the taxis transfers to a minimum.
We had to delay for a year and he sorted all that. The information provided before we left was complete and helpful for all levels of walker.
We were unfortunately walking in an unseasonably hot April which, obviously beyond anyone's control, did make the number of hotels/Inns that didn't start breakfast until 08:00, leading to late starts and uncomfortable afternoon walking an issue. I suspect this is regional, the Cotswolds being less walkers or travelling workers and more weekenders and foreign sightseers that other areas we visited.

WWW curated for us our own Norfolk Coast Path itinerary and it was tremendously successful. They broke up the 85-mile walk into (just about) manageable sections, they booked excellent accommodation for us, found a reliable luggage transfer scheme that ensured cases were always at your next destination after a day’s walking. Guidance sound and all in all a very efficient operation. We have used them before for St Cuthbert’s Way and would definitely use them again as they are so reliable - Phil and Sophie

The Northumberland Coast Path is a lovely, well-marked route and I was lucky to have excellent weather. Walk with Williams did an excellent job of arranging accommodation and baggage transfers and provided plenty of information in advance, as well as maps and notes. They also organised an extra day (including info on tide times) so I could walk over to the holy island of Lindisfarne and stay a night, which was a real highlight.

This was our second time of using Walk With Williams and this time was equally as excellent as the first time. Previous to using this company we had walked the Thames Path from the source to the sea and organized it all ourselves and carried everything with us. Then we learned about companies that did the organizing and moved luggage and realized, that when we took all of our time organizing the trip into account, plus having to carry everything from place to place, using a company, while technically more expensive, is really cost effective and adds a great deal to the enjoyment. We particularly enjoy the 'lucky dip' aspect of not knowing exactly what the accommodation will be every night and they are always different and enjoyable. Also, getting the detailed package at the start, this time with the official national trails guide, is super helpful. And on this trip, we were even picked up at the end of the trail and driven to where we were staying which was some distance away from where we finished, thank you Matthew! It was wonderful to get to meet you! We will definitely use Walk With Williams for our next England walk and recommend them to anyone planning a UK multiday walking adventure.

Nice dog friendly places to stay, good maps, lovely people, and great service all the way through from Walk with Williams. I will use them again.

My husband and I had a wonderful walking holiday, very much thanks to the flawless arrangements by Walkwithwilliams. We walked the Cleveland Way in July 2024. Before the trip we had good communication and fast replies to e-mails. Everything went as planned (and described), all luggage transfer and every taxi/pick-up. We stayed at 10 different locations, and 8 of them were very good, the last two were charming :)
We received useful information and a packing list before we left Norway, and at the first hotel we got a bundle of OS maps and a sturdy, water resistant one that we ended up using all the way.
The walk itself was 9 days with different views, and we enjoyed them all! I can truly recommend Walkwithwilliams and would definately use them again!

I tried to book the Cotswold Way at short notice, in the peak period. Two other companies said they would look into it but it might take 3 to 4 weeks to get me a booking. Macs asked for a large, full deposit up front, no guarantee of a booking???
I called Mathew at 'Walk with Williams', within an hour he had provisional bookings for all the accommodation, I could leave within four days and the luggage transport would be no problem.
His price for a single walker was extremely competitive.
This more personable company, I found to be exceptionally efficient, well priced, easy to contact and very reassuring.
I enjoyed the walking the Cotswold Way immensely, best inland walk to date, and certainly no problems with hotels and baggage transfer.

Matthew was extremely efficient at responding to any questions I had, especially when I was chopping and changing my mind at the start re my proposed actual dates of travelling. The overall price was competitive and the whole trip was great value for money. I had to email Matthew twice (during the actual trip) re problems that occurred in my accommodation (not mine or Matthew's fault!) and he got back to me and got on to the accommodation to rectify the situation straight away. It was reassuring to know I had support behind me. My accommodation was central and had everything I needed. My luggage was moved on for me every day, no hassle at all. It was a lovely trip of the Cotswolds Way. It was 8 days of walking and I finished up in Bath. It was a great experience and I would not hesitate to book with Walk With Williams again.
