Terrible service. Asked for leak detection service following Thames Water confirming a leak They send emails and payment details to be paid in advance and then repeat that Thames Water have already done. Then want £990 to do what needed in the first place. 5 times i called their office manager and they send emails back. Surprised so many good reviews when basic customer service (telephone calls) seems beyond them. Be wary of them.

I had a very disappointing experience with Water Mains Engineering UK Ltd when dealing with a water leak. As this was my first experience of this kind, I relied on their advice as professionals. Before they would deal with the leak, however, I was advised that several other plumbing works had to be carried out first, resulting in a bill of around £1,100, despite the leak itself still not being addressed.

I was subsequently quoted a further £2,228 to deal with the leak, so a bill of £3328 whereas another company was able to resolve the problem for £885 in total.

The process was also far from efficient. I spent more than a month repeatedly chasing for progress while the leak continued, and the director was unavailable on holiday during this period.

While communication was always polite, I felt the advice I received was excessive and the overall cost disproportionate. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend getting an independent second opinion before agreeing to any work.

Discovering a leak led me to the Thames Water website to report it, where I found a list of suggested plumbers. Water Mains Engineering UK Ltd was listed at the top for my location. Although I planned to contact the first three, I dialed their landline and was promptly assured of a return call. Marlon, the owner, reached out within minutes. I didn't need to contact anyone else; I'd found the perfect match! Marlon and his team kept me updated via WhatsApp, messages, emails, and phone calls. Even when I mistakenly called them late at night, Marlon quickly called back. The job involved challenging, old London plumbing, but they tackled it with exceptional skill and precision, dedicating long weekend hours to ensure perfection. What might have been a daunting experience was flawlessly handled, timely and efficiently. Marlon’s expertise and professionalism are unparalleled, and I wholeheartedly recommend him and his team.

I was going to contact the first 3. I phoned the landline number which was answered straight away by someone who said I’d get a call. Marlon, who owns the company, got back to me in minutes.
I never contacted anyone else as I had hit gold!
He and his team kept me informed all the way with WhatsApp, messages, emails and phone calls. I even accidentally phoned the number late at night, and he phoned me back immediately.
The work was very difficult being old London plumbing. They did it extremely well with great attention to detail, working long hours over a weekend to get everything right.
What a thought would- and could have been a nightmare was managed beautifully and on time. He is highly qualified and knowledgeable. I cannot recommend Marlon and his team enough.
