Do not get your kit with 23andme, if you would like to receive your results in a timely manner. I have sent my sample of 11 weeks ago, contacted the company 3 times and every time, they tell me it will be a week to 10 days more. We are at the 9 week mark now and I still do not have a result or answer as to when it will be ready. I am wondering if the results will be correct. Judging by the way my sample was handled, my confidence is definitely diminished. I ordered an additional kit on ancestry.com, for comparison!

I am beyond disappointed with the lack of progress on my DNA kit. My sample has been sitting in a queue for over a month with absolutely no movement or communication.

I turned to 23andMe during an incredibly difficult time—I recently discovered that the man who raised me is not my biological father. I am looking for answers and closure, yet the "waiting in queue" status has stalled my ability to heal or find the truth. This delay is more than just a minor inconvenience; it is an added layer of stress during an already traumatic life event.

Had I known that the company’s internal instability would lead to such poor service and total stagnation, I would have taken my business to a competitor. It is clear that the current management is struggling to provide even the most basic level of service. If you are looking for timely results or reliable customer support, look elsewhere.

I find that 23&Me provides information about me, my DNA and origins. I am very happy with 23&Me and would recommend 23&Me to anyone that wants information regarding their ethnic background.

WE PAID UP FRONT HAD TO WAIT FOREVER AND TO GET THE ALREADY PAID FOR RESULTS WE NOW HAVE TO PURCHASE ADDITIONAL MEMBERSHIPS OR APPS IF U GO THROUGH GOOGLE.THESE WILL BE CHARGED ANNUALLY! AND REPEAT. NO WAY AROUND IT . WE WILL TRY TO GET OUR MONEY BACK BUT I READ IT AS A TOTAL LOSS NO WAY TO FIND A REP. ITS A TOTAL RIP OFF TOTAL. AND ON TOP THE COMPANY AS I NOW UNDERSTAND IT , IS TOAST.

23andme has the worst customer service. This is borderline a scam company.

Shocking! Absolutely shocking experience, ridiculous waiting times I regret I didn’t go through the reviews before I waste my money on this SCAM

I received my health and ancestry report approximately 2 years ago. I think we can all agree you lineage doesn’t changed once it’s done genetically. Well my heritage totally changed. When asked how they came up with this conclusion when they were supposed to throw my sample away. Should have been end of story. How could they come up with places no one has ever been in my family and not even the town or region of Italy my grandparents came from with the papers sitting in front of me. I called and the Filipino agent told me what he was reading from his book. Useless.

23andMe has been one of the pioneering companies in the field. The things that they do may be different than ancestry, MyHeritage and other sites, but 23andMe does many things better than other sites. I have been a Premium member since they first started it and I love the insights it provides. For the most part I believe that the information is correct. I wish that the site would go deeper on some things, like Pharmacogenetics, but I do like how deeply it goes into each item.
One thing that I found to be total BS is a report saying that my hand-eye coordination is excellent... when in fact it definitely is not.
One report that I DEFINITELY believe is true is that I ABSOLUTELY HATE THE SOUND OF CHEWING and with plastic wrappers and such. OMG MY MIND GOES SOOOO CRAZY!! That is SPOT ON!!

6 weeks with no results and I'm getting emails saying they just started extracting DNA....despite the fact that I already went through that starting over a month ago and online I have been (am still showing as) in the Genotype sequencing section. Emails don't add up with online. Daughter's kit was received at the clinic the same day and she got results weeks ago. They are rerunning without saying why and refuse to update the website to say they started the whole process over. No listed phone number on website. Super Shady

this is so stupid they added a second "verification" to the site and it does NOT work on my phone. It does NOT send me the second code the "scan" does not work on anything I have tried (three phones so far) and they REFUSE to take that second verification off. I did NOT request a second step. I was fine for years without it. I've had this account for 8 or 9 years without any issues and now they decide to BLOCK ME FROM MY OWN INFORMATION Horrible DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS BULL

Could not work with saliva sample. Will not send new kit or refund me

23andme has been one of the greatest wastes of money I have ever experienced. I sent in their kit pricing at over 100+ dollars and after over 2 months the process hasnt moved beyond where it should be. When I message them I am told to be patient, save your money and go to an actual reputable buisness for this kind of process. 23andme is nothing more than a scam company and if you fall for it you will look just as foolish as the rest of us. Save your money people

In general all is pretty good. It took a while to learn to navigate the website. The update on Version 7 was very much appreciated.

I’ve been waiting nearly two months now for results and it hasn’t even passed the first stage of the DNA processing, I’ve emailed multiple times and they say ‘we’ll get back to you in 1-2 business days’ which they don’t. Quite an expensive service and the estimated date for my results just keeps getting pushed further and further back, I’ve had no update on the stage my DNA is at since Feb 11th. I completely understand these things take time, but at this point, I find it unlikely I will get any results from them.

This is a follow up to my mother's review. 23andMe replied to her and provided the number to call, however they don't answer. I've called countless times and I get no response. I was gifted a 23andMe last year and I was given a year free subscription. I not only ended the subscription before the date was up, but I deleted my account. Why am I still getting emails and newsletters from them if I've deleted my account and why hasn't my money been returned? They fraudulently used my card on a subscription I ended. It needs to be fixed and still hasn't been fixed.

My daughter and I canceled our accounts with 23andMe last year after they announced that they were going to be filing for bankruptcy ,and another company was going to be buying all of the DNA information.
I continue to get emails from them asking me to log in and edit information personal information answer questions of course I don't respond but I think it's unusual because supposedly they're not in business anymore.
I'm writing this review because we have recently reached out many times to this company with no response as I said both my daughter and I have removed our accounts however recently 23 me a subscribed my daughter to a year subscription without her permission she's never had a subscription with them before and the one she had prior had been a gift from someone else so without her permission they charged for $70, they used her card on file that they had requested from her over a year ago, which at the time had I have known I would have told her not too. We have been unable to get a response from any of their team members and or company response she has had to cancel her credit card and now they're going to have to dispute because how do you purchase a subscription for a company that supposedly bankrupt and that you no longer have an account with?

Received this as a gift for Christmas, sent off my sample on 28th December, my sample has been stuck in the queue for DNa extraction since 21st January, it says it’ll be done in 1-2 weeks but it’s now March and it hasn’t moved. I contact 23 and me but it’s not resolved. Very slow considering we get an annual plan included in this, I hope this starts from the day I get my results NOT the day I sent off the sample!?
