3000rpm was started way back in 2000 (yes nearly 13 years ago!) Back then it was a one man band working out the back of a van going to computer fairs. Through hard work we have expanded to having a retail shop, a very busy computer repair centre and a large warehouse carring over 2000 different products to cater for our online customers. The success story of 3000rpm would not be possible if we didnt treat our customers with the utmost respect. We go out of our way to explain and help all our customers in making choices in an area which lets be honest can be quite complicated. We would just like to thank all of our customers and staff for helping us along this journey and we will continue to bring big things in the coming years.

THEY DIDN'T FIX IT
I had my daughter's Xbox to fix as there is nowhere in Perth. I handed it in the first time and then got a call a few weeks later, after I had called them as I hadn't heard from them, to say it was fixed. When I went to pick it up I was told they hadn't fixed it but that he had it working just before I got there. I paid £40 for it, so took it back through to my daughter. My grandson has autism so plays something on it for half an hour each day coming in from school as it's a way for him to then settle into the house after being in school all day. I told the boy this when I handed it in. I then learned from my daughter it wasn't working. So I got it back and called 3000rpm and explained to them it wasn't working. I was told to bring it back in, so I did. A week or so later I got a call to come pick it up, it was working now. When I went down to get it I was told a new drive was put into it and it was now working. I paid another £80 and took it back through to my daughter. My grandson was then going on it when he got home from school, and was so excited that he had it back. He then got so upset as it wasn't working, would not load the game. So my daughter herself tried phoning 3000rpm to tell them about it but never got an answer. She then sent them an email to tell them that the Xbox wasn't working and she wanted my money back, and got no answer whatsoever. She tried a few times more but still nothing back from them. So I, a pensioner have paid £120 to them and my grandson still just had a broken machine.
Built my ideal Computer, Thank you
Big thanks to Glen and the team at 3000rpm for putting together my computer tower. This is my second build with them. My previous one lasted nearly ten years with minimal repairs. I rely on my computer every day for work, including Photoshop. I stressed the need for plenty of storage and backup space, and Glen listened carefully. Now, I've got a super-fast computer, hopefully as reliable as the last one. During setup, I had a question as I was being a little blind and they answered within a minute and now I am sat using my computer. I was delighted to see the case had orange lights in too...it's my favourite colour, how did you know! Their quick and helpful support made the whole experience even better. Thank you 3000rpm.
EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE WOULDN'T GO ANYWHERE ELSE
The team were clear & concise from dropping off laptop to calling to say it was repaired & more than fair with the price.
The cost for these experts is in their field is honestly priceless! I wouldn't go anywhere else.
Highly recommend Ian & the team great people to deal with. Thanks!
Awful customer service, will never use them again
Short version: Will never use 3000rpm again â one of the worst customer service experiences we have ever had. Unhelpful staff, terrible communication, unacceptable timescales and ended up having to get laptop repaired elsewhere. Website also very out of date.
Longer version:
Took a laptop to 3000rpm (Brown St, Dundee) to get looked at as we suspected a data hard drive failure but were not sure if that was all that was wrong. The repair shop was in a convenient place for parking and seemed to have good opening hours (which turned out to be incorrect).
Initially there was some disagreement because they would not seem to believe that there WERE 2 hard drives in it and even at one point tried to say the manufacture âprobably did not put it in, because they do thatâ â we have had the laptop over 4 years, think we might have noticed a missing 2Tb hard drive!
Part of the issue here was also that the staff confused the issues and made it difficult to understand what was to be done. They seemed to be more interested telling us what we should have done when setting up / managing data than discussing what was actually needing done to fix things. In fairness some advice given was helpful and we were happy to listen to the suggestions however the way this was generally delivered was bordering on patronising and even rude at times.
In hindsight at this point we should have walked away and gone elsewhere but it was getting late, we live out of town and did not want to have the hassle of going through all the explanations again. It was finally agreed they would order in a new hard drive and fit it â they estimated they should get the drive in and do the repair within the next couple of days.
After this, trying to get information about the status of the repair & part was like getting blood out of a stone. Staff were either unhelpful, uninformed, rude or (quite often) all three. Noone appeared to be able (or willing) to actually go and speak to a technician (so much so we began to wonder if they actually had any) or even manage to tell us if the part had been delivered.
A further warning note: The 3000rpm webpage is (they freely admitted) at least 10 years out of date. So take anything you read on there with a large pinch of salt as some of the information on there is now very misleading (e.g. donât bother with the repair status tracking as it doesnât actually work also the opening hours are wrong as is the phone number in places).
A week passed and still no part had appeared (it wasnât like it was anything exotic - just a standard 2Tb hard drive) we had had enough of lack or progress and communication (and general attitude) and phoned to inform them we were cancelling the repair and would be coming to collect our laptop.
Initially their response to this was to say we couldnât as the technician was not available to reassemble. When asked for a timescale were just told bluntly they did not know & even when we tried to push for more info or why that staff member we were speaking to could not do the reassemble they would not give any helpful answer. This was quite upsetting and stressful as at this point as weâd been without the laptop of over a week already and really needed to get it back so could get it fixed somewhere else.
They eventually capitulated and (for once) actually phoned back and agreed to reassemble and it could be picked up later that day. About the only good thing we could say about them is at least they had the good grace to not even mention any sort of payment when we retrieved the laptop ⊠however there was no apology given whatsoever.
Took laptop elsewhere to get repaired. Far less stressful experience! Part ordered & delivered swiftly and was fitted and laptop was back up and running in a couple of days. The Engineer who did the fix mentioned that the laptop, when they opened it up, had a part disconnected that should not have been and there was also a screw loose rattling about within the casing! Very worrying as this is not something you want in an electronic device.
To summarise:
If you enjoy terrible customer service featuring incompetent patronising staff who do not seem to want to listen to you (and prefer to spend their time belittling how you have set-up & manage your PC) and also cannot even order in a very common part in less than a week and carry out a simple fix then 3000rpm are the people to use!
Please for the sake of your sanity and health AVOID 3000rpm, there isnât a barge pole big enough in the universe to not touch them with as far as we are concerned.
display issue with laptop
Had a problem with my laptop told them the screen was flickering i sent them a video of the issue happening and also told them that sometimes my laptop does not switch on and can switch on randomly when this issue occurs. they had my laptop for 3 days and told me their was nothing wrong with it despite my persistant problems and the video evidence,
i asked if they even opned it up to have a look and they said they didnt which is utterly stupid, they are a repair shop and they could not even be bother to open up to see whats going on inside they are an absolute joke i should have just sent it back to the manufacturer as these guys have 0 idea on what to do with newer models
Took my grandsons ipad into theâŠ
Took my grandsons ipad into the warehouse shop,Was qouted £80 just to fix a charger port,Takes about 5 mnts to fix it, My grandson is autistic so needed his ipad fixed asap, I told the guy i wasnt happy with the price as its only a charger port, I was qouted 2 diff prices,Shocking ill def wont be back to these clown,Came home and i got someone else to fix it at half the price,My pal got her latop fixed aswell and she has alot of problems with it, can imagine any elderly going on for something and costing them an arm and a leg,
Terrible.
To be honest this experience was terrible, I brought my PC in as it wasnât displaying anything and told the gentleman I just need it in working order as I had a lot of bother with it etc, the guy was actually very rude and was clearly getting agitated when I never knew what certain wires were and things to that effect, not only this but my âfixed PCâ crashes every single time you turn it on leaving me another £50 down with nothing to show for it :) the guy in the store told me âit occasionally crashes, you will need to update your OSâ which is physically impossible with a machine that crashes EVERYTIME after 10 SECONDS. Finally they told me one of my brand new sticks of RAM was faulty and apparently they donât sell or replace this for you either, essentially I have payed £50 to be told âyou have all these issues now please go awayâ.
Terrible service rude staff liars who didn't fix my computer and returned it damaged and with parts missing and refusing to give me my parcel delivery
Terrible service the staff were extremely rude and unproffesional getting flippy and emotional after I had brought up the fact that they had kept my computer gathering dust in storage for nearly 2 full months. Once or twice a week I would call them for updates and everytime they would lie saying I would get it in a couple of days and they were currently working on the repair until eventually towards the end of the second month someone finally told the truth and said look I dont know what everyone else who has been on the phone with you has been saying but we don't actually have the parts so your computer has just been sitting here. I came to collect my computer and not only was it covered in dust the frame was damaged had a crack down it from when they opened it, screws were missing one of the fans protectors was gone and initially I thought they had broken the battery but in fact they just didnt put it back in properly. After all this I called asking to speak to a manager or higher up staff member or possibly customer care and the person on the phone asked why and I told him the whole story and again unprofessional and flippy attitude about how dare I accuse them of any of this and denied me speaking to anyone and ended the call. I have just recently called again after quite a long time about a DPD parcel being delivered and again recieved more rude flippy attitude and responses before again having the call ended on me. From my experience they are rude arrogant children who don't know how to run a business or treat their customers.
Further update I went in store to retrieve my parcel that was delivered and they refused to give it to me saying that they had a parcel but not for me even after showing an email about it being delivered and after leaving wondering if there has been a mistake or if they are yet again just being extremely petty and unprofessional I checked my emails to find a picture taken by the delivery person of the parcel being left at the store after being recieved by a "Josh" so yet again I have been rudely treated and lied to and are refusing to give me my parcel.

Poor customer service
Poor customer service
Attended the store after visiting the website to purchase ink as I am currently working from home as a nurse and this is a priority for me.
Was told by a member of your staff that I was stupid that I wouldn't be able purchase ink anyplace in Scotland. The man that served me found this highly amusing, there was someone sitting in the shop unknown if customer speaking with the member of staff. Both men thought it was appropriate to laugh continuesly when I was in the store at the fact I had wanted to purchase ink.
Left store feeling awful, that I had been made a fool off. Wasn't a nice encounter and will not visit or use your store again.
Very very poor customer service.
