We stayed over Christmas with our family and couldn’t have been happier. The house was perfect and Grace was so helpful, even helped book a chef for christmas eve. Would definitely book again

Nice house, good service

Do NOT book through this company. Wish I had read the reviews before. I booked and paid through the phone for everything with Sam as I was having trouble accessing the portal so was told not to worry and everything can be done over the phone. I asked for the location of this accommodation after payment and was told they couldn't release the address until closer to the time but it would be in the centre of the northern quarter and a close walk. (Fair)

Paid in full, and was told yep that's everything done! Nothing else needed now and you'll get your check in details closer to the time. Brilliant.

Until 2 days prior to the event I get an email requesting another £500 for a security deposit which I was not told about when booking/ anywhere throughout the process. Never mind leaving it 2 days before like I have £500 just sat in the bank! Caused me so much stress that I didn't need.

Day of the event - Turns out another group of 20 girls were also at the accommodation sharing access to the hot tub which is advertised as though you get it included in your apartment ( it was in the basement) which we were told nothing about and made it seem like this was an accommodation you got to yourselves. The locks didn't even work so no security to the property at all and it was a 25 minute walk to the northern quarter, (not a short walk at all)

The customer service you get is shocking don't bother. False advertisement and once they have your money they don't care.

The mirror in the bedroom had been knocked off the wall by accident and they kept £120 back to replace a B&M cheap mirror. Joke!

I booked one of these smart houses for my 40th birthday and paid in full 6 weeks in advance. 3 days before check-in, Adventure Connections called to say the owner of the house had cancelled the booking without explanation.

When I asked how this was possible they said it just is. For some bizarre reason, Adventure Connections’ business model allows the owners of the houses to cancel ANY time (including the day before). Even when fully paid (which begs the question as to why pay deposits, what exactly are you paying for when you pay in advance?)

AC offered me 2 different houses - 1 was £900 more than my booking, the other had 3x 1-star reviews saying the owner had swindled guests out of their deposits (the ’Grand Lothian Retreat’). Both options unacceptable.

I asked for my money back so I could book somewhere else, AC said it would take 28 days. They offered to do it in 5, but this meant I was out of pocket until after my birthday weekend, so I was unable to book anywhere else.

I asked for a BACS transfer to get my money back the same day. They refused, citing something about anti-money-laundering (difficult to believe given there were legitamate transactions, and an email paper trail between me and them).

Had friends travelling from Oz for this, they had nowhere to stay, had £100’s of food bought (pal is a chef) - all wasted, couldn’t even book a restaurant as it was so short notice. 40th birthday party for 16 people utterly ruined; complete shambles.

Please beware: if you are booking with these guys, YES they have smart houses, NO, you are no guaranteed the booking - even if you pay in full - it can be cancelled by the owner any time.

Great accommodation, smooth process with good communication and understand of our large groups needs. Would recommend to anyone looking to plan a weekend away for a group of friends or family. Thank you

I recently attended a weekend away with 17 university friends. I booked through Adventure Connections to have the protection of a company booking on our behalf and already having connections with the homeowners.
The process was straightforward, and they provided all the information needed. At times, communication was not great via email, but a quick phone call, and someone is always on the phone to answer any questions.
Would most definitely use again!

Just book an Air BNB instead.

I had an awful experience through this company. I was organising a stag do near Oxford and had everything booked and the deposit paid early in the year. The full balance was paid a couple of months later and a couple of months in advance of the stag. 2 weeks before the stag which was on a bank holiday weekend I was informed that the property was no longer available. An alternative much smaller property was then suggested. No discount was offered until I asked for it. I asked for 50% off but was offered £600 off which was more like a 25% of the cost. At this point I had such limited options that I had to begrudgingly accept or cancel the stag. Shortly after this was agreed I was informed for the first time, despite having paid the full balance for the larger property and being owed a £600 refund, that an additional £750 security deposit was required! It took several weeks for the £600 to be credited to me so shortly before the stag Adventure Connections had thousands of pounds of my money on what felt like very shaky grounds. The alternative property that was ultimately made available to us was much smaller and of a very disappointing standard. The kitchen was infested with ants and the small garden was covered in what I would assume was dog shit.
The stag did go ahead but the stress in the build up to it was awful and the quality of the property was very poor for the money but due to the timings I was over a barrel with very limited alternative and with Adventure Connections holding my funds and failing to refund me in short time period.
It took over a month for me to be refunded the "surprise" security deposit.

It was a terrible experience and I have organised several trips like this and have never had so much difficulty. As Adventure Connections acts as a broker you could argue it's not their fault that the owner of the property pulled out last minute but based on what happened it raises the question what role does Adventure Connections play if they can't control what they are selling you? Furthermore the way that the finances were handled meant that I was completely blindsided with an additional charge of £750 at time when I was being told I would be owed a refund of £600 in what was already a very disappointing situation. AC will say you are not charged for the security deposit but it left my account and was not accessible to me for over a month at which point it was eventually returned.

I wish I had taken on board a review like this or the others like it before considering making a booking with AC. There are so many more professional easy to hand accommodation sites out there that don't come with surprise last minute charges.

Recently returned from a hen weekend at “Mulberry House” in Bournemouth, only the property had a different name (confusing) and absolutely does not match the description on the AC website.
I wasn’t the organiser of the trip, but as far as I’m aware Adventures connections themselves were good to work with. My review is about the property and attitude of the owner, not a criticism of Adventure connections .

When it’s time to rest, Mulberry House has five beautifully decorated bedrooms to ensure a peaceful night’s sleep for all guests.

Fully equipped kitchen with modern appliances, ample counter space, and a wide range of utensils”.

This could not be less accurate. The decor throughout is plain white and completed to a very poor standard.

The so called “well equipped kitchen” did not even have a kettle! The one teapot was for two cups only… in a house which sleeps 18 people!

There was not enough space in the kitchen or lounge to seat all 14 of us and the dining chair blocked the fridge.

Some areas of the house were filthy and in poor condition, such as the patio doors.

The lounge sits 7 at a push on two ridiculous sofas which have no back support! There is one additional “chair” which is filthy and in poor condition. There’s barely any room to bring in any dining chairs either. The outdoor cushions take up a lot of space, stored in the lounge and they are filthy.

The bunk beds are extremely uncomfortable and too small for adults. They are rammed into each room with no shelves, drawers, wardrobes or even a measly hook to hang anything! Even the bathroom had nowhere to hang anything or even put a toothbrush down, never mind a washbag!

We just managed to stretch out the toilet roll supply between 14 of us for 2 days!

The bathmat had a suspicious looking brown stain on it! The windows were difficult to open and close and there are too few plug sockets in the rooms with beds blocking the use of some!

The heating kept coming on - in June! So it was far too hot at night.

Advertised as a property for large parties, it is inevitable that there will be some noise…. The property is in a residential area and a “security guard” lurks outside to stop hirers using the hot tub or making too much noise! Frankly this was horrible. A house full of women, knowing there was a man lurking outside felt very uncomfortable. It’s a party house, where partying is forbidden! How ridiculous. I feel this property does not reflect Adventure connections in a good way.

I recently used Adventure Connections to book activities for a Stag Do. The experience was great from start to finish. Booking and organising the activities was really straightforward with the help of Grace from Adventure Connections, who was always friendly, helpful and professional. The activities themselves were really great (we did archery, rage buggy racing, and clay pigeon shooting!), and our whole party was really pleased with how the day went.

Hopefully I won't be anyone's best man again, but if I am - I'll be heading back to Adventure Connections!

I recently used Adventure Connections to help organise a stag weekend in Edinburgh and I honestly can't recommend them enough. From start to finish, the whole experience was seamless. The property we stayed in was absolutely amazing but what really stood out was the support from Sam and Grace. Their help throughout the planning process was second to none – friendly, responsive, and genuinely invested in making sure everything went smoothly. They made what could have been a stressful job feel easy. I have no hesitation in recommending Adventure Connections.

The booking process was easy and everyone I dealt with at Adventure Connections were helpful and
professional. We had a wonderful weekend (12 female friends and family) at Heaton Park Spa House, for a 40th Birthday celebration. The indoor pooI and hotub was fabulous. I would definitely book with Adventure Connections again. My security bond was released straight away too.

Adventure connections were super from start to finish.
I’d booked a house for a Hen party in Brighton. Two days before the hen party I realised I had made a mistake with the booking and booked it for the wrong date. Georgia quickly contacted the homeowner and swapped the booking over as luckily the house was available.
Her speed and calmness put me at ease in a stressful situation entirely of my own making!
The house itself was perfect for what we needed it for, beds were comfy and clean and the space was great.
The team were helpful and knowledgable throughout the process and I would definitely recommend using them.

Terrible experience with AC. We had my hen do venue booked for months and 30 people travelling from all over to come
to it. On the Monday of the week we were arriving (Friday) my bridesmaid called to see if we needed to bring loo roll/towels and was told they couldn’t accommodate us anymore!! People had booked travel from London, Spain etc and 30 women would have shown up on the Friday and been homeless for the night. I’m genuinely appalled by the fact they didn’t phone us to let us know. They apparently offered a house in Perth but that’s nowhere effing near Gorebridge. The money was refunded but we had to fork out the full amount again to book somewhere else before we received it because they left it so late to tell us. Disgusted at the service and lack of respect for customers.

Used Adventure Connections for a hen do. The house we booked was not as described and there weren’t enough beds which meant that even though everyone had paid the same amount some people had to sleep on the floor for the entire weekend. I had double checked the number of beds when booking and again before we arrived and was assured there were the right number. When I raised this after the weekend was over I got a very weak response and then no further replies and no refund for the people who had nowhere to sleep despite paying.

Adventure Connections really helped me, as the best man and organiser of the whole stag, come up with some great ideas for our weekend down in Brighton. Can be a bit overwhelming at first having to work it all out so their expertise was great. Their recommendation for accommodation was perfect and good value for money. While they activity suggestions were spot on too. A good time was had by all and AC were a big part of making that happen!

Recently planned a hen do for 12 through adventure connections, all agents were so helpful, the service was five star, always on hand and happy to help through all stages of organising! The website is easy to use with plenty of options for places to go/stay, activities and any added extras!
