I have been very pleased with all the information and paperwork received since moving into my spacious apartment. The staff have been friendly, helpful and always ready to advise.

My parents have bought an incredible property from Beechcroft Developments in Pyrton. The property is simply amazing and the complex provides you with such a lot. They have thought of everything!

The purchase process was helped no end by the professionalism, expertise and dedication of Elaine.

Sadly, due to ill health, my parents needed my help with the process and the actual move which Elaine helped me with, every step of the way.

Elaine goes above and beyond to support you, hold your hand and also drive what needs to be driven.

When buying from Beechcroft, you get an exceptional property, support and guidance throughout and then ongoing help in the home eg, there is an on site person to assist with various aspects…

I highly recommend this development and Elaine and her team. Thank you.

Castle Gardens is a small Retirement Village which is unique. Very pretty gardens and very well built assorted properties. The Sales side of Beechcroft is managed by Elaine who looks after and deals with any problems the residents may have. Linda is the Estate Manager and she too is incredibly helpful.
Nothing is too much trouble for these two ladies .

There are a number of issues with the house that relate to the original installation of systems that were not installed correctly. Hob extractor fan installed incorrectly so house stinks when cooking. Just had first big service of air pump and boiler system since build only to find out insufficient coolant added to system at time of installation. Beechcroft’s response is to deflect and refuse to take any responsibility for the original faulty installation of these systems because they are outside 2 year period. We just bought the house which is only 3 years old. The customer service guy even remarked that he hadn’t come this far in his career by paying for these kind of claims. Shocking.

We have withdrawn from our purchase due to Beechcroft misleading us through the sales process. 2 adjacent properties were not advised to us, the location of a new roundabout was advised differently to publicly accessible drawings/data, an advised 5-6 executive house development next to the estate is in planning for 100 houses! We were told there was a knack to opening the defective loft ladder! An onerous lease totally in favour of the Landlord. A non for profit organisation which charges 16% of the maintenance fees (which is excessive at £3,200 p.a.) as Management Fee. It's an over 55 retirement complex and the lease stipulates that visiting family can't use/play on the common grounds that are paid for under the management services fees!! No CPI mechanism or dispute resolution process (if you don't pay the charges after 21 days they have the right to terminate the lease, yet there is no dispute resolution process!!) plus too many other onerous lease conditions. If you consider buying one of their properties, go into it with your eyes fully wide open

I love my new apartment. It's just perfect for me, so light, spacious and airy.

The generous sized balcony ensures I'm not missing my old garden.

Thanks to Helen who supported me through some obstacles to my move, she was extremely supportive.

My neighbours who I'm only just getting to know are friendly and offering helpful advice.

I've definitely made the right decision to move here.

We have just moved into our house in Kent which is part of a recently built development by Beechcroft. We purchased the house a few months back and have had problems with our extractor fan. Following investigations of the hob and fan by the manufacturers, we have been informed the fan was installed incorrectly from the start. We have approached Beechcroft who have deflected responsibility and left us to sort out this problem. As a new home, built only a few years ago, you would hope that if an integral part of the house had been incorrectly installed by their own workforce (even if they were subcontractors) Beechcroft would take full responsibility for the error and rectify it without passing it onto their clients! We currently have to open all windows, close all doors and light candles throughout the downstairs of the house if we cook anything at all which is problematic. Very disappointed as love the house and the area and think Beechcroft have done a lovely job of creating a good quality living experience.

Downsizing from a large family house and moving from Kent to Oxfordshire to be nearer my family was always going to be a challenge but I’m so glad I made the move. Castle Gardens at Watlington is a lovely development, lots of green space and beautiful gardens with well designed houses and apartments. My house is spacious, light and airy, with high internal specifications, fixtures and fittings. Settling in nicely now, enjoying my new home and surroundings and making new friends. Special thanks to Elaine at Beechcroft for steering the purchase through and to Linda, the estate manager, for making settling in so easy. A pleasure to be here.

I was looking to downsize from a 4/5 bedroom house and was driving past Castle Gardens in Watlington after searching other developments and drove in out of curiosity. My initial impression was that it was an upmarket development with plenty of space and not overcrowded like other over 55 sites.
I decided to go into the sales office to get more information and was met by Elaine who I found to be very accommodating and was more than happy to show me around and answer my questions. Elaine is professional and knowledgeable and Beechcroft are lucky to have her on their team. I made my mind up on the spot and decided to put a deposit down and eventually chose a one bed ground floor show house.
Elaine guided me through the process and was very patient as there were problems with my sale but in the end we managed to complete.
I have found the residents to be friendly and welcoming and there are frequent opportunities to get together. I would recommend Castle Gardens and Beechcroft to anyone thinking of moving to an over 55s development. I’m very happy with my choice.

I have moved very recently to Pinewood Place in Windsor. Throughout my difficult move, (problems with buyers), delays, etc, I was supported by Helen and Louise who were empathetic, kind, yet conforming to the rules.
I absolutely love my new apartment. I’ve not had time yet to discover much about it as I’ve had to travel and the surrounding area is still unfinished. But I can say with certainty; it’s lovely and airy, and the quality of the fittings is indisputable.
I’m very much looking forward to this new chapter in my life and to enjoying all that this Beechcroft development has to offer.

I love my apartment in Castle Gardens. It is well planned and appointed. The gardens are sunny, spacious and nicely laid out.

We moved to Castle Gardens five weeks ago. Although slightly apprehensive prior to the move we need not have worried as we settled in very quickly and have no regrets whatsoever. Our house is beautifully constructed and kitted out. Castle Gardens is a spacious well laid out development which has been thoughtfully designed with a variety of accommodations. Elaine in the Sales office has been extremely helpful and goes beyond her remit and is well supported by Lewis the Site manager and Linda the Estate manager. Watlington is a delightful friendly town.

I'm delighted with my home in Watlington and would highly recommend the development / location. The house is very well designed and, despite this being a downsize for me, it doesn't feel like it. The quality is excellent, the storage is very good and the property is energy efficient. Although I've only been here 3 weeks, the other residents have been very friendly & welcoming. I must give special mention to Elaine, the sales manager, who has been supportive and informative throughout the process - she really knows her stuff. The site manager & his team have also been great and dealt with minor snagging very promptly. All in all, I am delighted in making the move.

My mother has recently moved to Castle Gardens in Watlington which is a lovely development and near to where I live.
Throughout the long, drawn-out and complicated sale of my mother's previous property, Elaine at Beechcroft sales was not only efficient and extremely helpful, but also understanding and empathetic to our situation which was much appreciated.
The flat is light and airy, Mum would have a few points to make to Beechcroft on design for the older person, but overall she is pleased to be in her new home.

We moved into our house in Castle Gardens, Watlington in November, 2022, and are delighted with the property. With any new build there are some issues and snags but these have been attended to by Elaine and the Site Managers efficiently and effectively. Also the communication with Elaine and her team through the purchase process was excellent. The location of Castle Gardens is close to a lovely small town with individual shops and restaurants.

My advice would be to avoid buying a Beechcroft Retirement Home.
Their designs are fine and their brochures are very persuasive but once they have your money they have no interest in any aftercare.
We bought a property in Berkhamsted, Herts five years ago and for most of that period we have been without working security gates together with sundry other problems.
Despite efforts by the residents, and the site manager, Beechcroft have taken no action to resolve the problem.

2 out of 3 lifts have been out of action since December,
we do have a maintenance contract with Kone but service has been nonexistent.

We have just moved into a house in Castle Gardens. We were attracted to the build and quality of content and find exceptional comfort, warmth and light. Other residents that we have met have been extremely friendly and helpful.
Elaine and her team have been exceptionally welcoming and the site guys have helped fix any minor problem,
We are ten minutes walk from a popular town and are surrounded by lovely countryside with easy road access to Oxford and London.
I feel we shall be very happy here.

Our entire purchase experience has been exceptional due, in no small part, to Helen and her colleagues and Nick, the site manager. We have wanted for nothing

Helen and staff were very friendly, helpful and nothing was too much trouble to help us. We are so happy in our new house now after all the traumas of moving.
