I ordered gloves which arrived damaged, I tried to contact the customer service who never responded. I sent the gloves back with the return label within 30 days, never received a refund. I hate it that I have to take them to small claims court.

Excellent service, helpful in giving advice on all Merrel walking boots.

I can’t remember the exact date so I just put a random one.
I went into blacks wanting to get my autistic son a jacket for winter (because of his Autism it makes it very hard to buy him outerwear due to the materials) one of the employees I believe his name was ‘Arron’ was very welcoming and understood my situation without judgement. He was so helpful and pleasant and made the whole experience for my son stress free, I very much will be returning.

Bought a pair of Merrell's hiking trainers from Black's near St Paul's cathedral, London. Served by Sonny who was knowledgeable and very helpful with matching the right trainer for my needs.

Accidentally ordered an incorrect size of something which I immediately phoned/ emailed about to cancel.

They were unable to cancel in the system and instead said it would have to be dispatched and returned - the deliver and return cost me £4.99 & £2.99.

The worst part was that they didn’t dispatch it for 6 days after I’d requested the cancellation.

I’m unsure why a company of this size isn’t able to cancel an order in circumstances like this - such a waste of unnecessary resources and money.

On top of this, the customer service personnel were at times rather rude.

Absolutely unsatisfactory Customer Service. I ordered an item and allegedly, it was shipped immediately, on the same day. However, since then I have got absolutely no further information about the shipment. The tracking information shows: "We're expecting it" and the Customer Service does not respond to my emails. Made bad experience with them and do not recommend anybody

Order said it got delivered to a parcel shop which is never did rang blacks about it within 10 minute they issued me a new coat more than happy

Fantastic Customer Service - I had an issue with something i had returned but when i called the customer services they were more than helpful and sorted it all for me straight away. The call got cut off and the girl (Angela) even called me back to apologise - unheard of in this day and age - fantastic service

I was looking for a pair of waterproof trainers/shoes to wear in the wet winter months at Bootcamp.
Raphael welcomed me into the store and asked if he could help. He was very professional with a good knowledge of the footwear on offer. He also had a lovely sense of humour and it was a real pleasure to make the purchase. I have since worn my shoes to bootcamp and they are just the job - warm and very comfortable.

Visited store in Harrogate to buy hiking boots. Excellent service from Ben to ensure correct fitting of boots and that suitable boots for kind of terrain I’d be walking on.
Could not have been more patient, knowledgeable and helpful.Would definitely use this store again for future purchases.

Went to High Wycombe store today to buy trainers. Really helpful sales staff, Darc and a lady. Bought out loads of shoes for me felt guilty! However did get some so happy ending for all!

Bought an osprey talon 22 backpack on the website, says one size, but know for a fact that this particular model comes in two sizes (s/m, m/l). Called up the customer service to check which size is the one they sell on the website, but the women was totally unhelpful, keeps saying its only one size, doesnt matter what osprey (the manufacturer!) says??! I know its one size you sell, but i just want to know if its s/m or m/l (omg!). When i suggest the website could be modified to make it easier for the customer she still just repeats the same mantra that the bag is one size (i mean wth), super frustrating communication!! this company needs to hire someone more competent.

shopping for waterproof jacket for Grandson - unsure of size - Shirley 294 Worcester was more than helpful - went above and beyond the service I expected - even trying on preferred jacket to let me see how it would look on - as a result 1 happy Grandson and 1 delighted customer who will definitely shop at Blacks again.

We went into blacks at Ventura park Tamworth. I was helped by a pleasant young man called Mason. Nothing was too much trouble. He even called his manager to help with th purchased of my burghaus jacket.

I visited Blacks at Lincoln to source a bum bag for an upcoming holiday. The customer assistant was called Laura she told me that were were a couple to choose from in the upstairs department. When I looked at the substantial staircase and explained that I had difficulty with my ankle on stairs, Laura straight away said she would fetch them down to the ground floor for me to see. I was very grateful for this kindness and also very happy with the choice she presented me with and the price of the Lowe Alpine bag which will now hold my money and personal items on my trip to the Isle Of Man. Well done Blacks for having the perfect item and very well done Laura for excellent customer service.

First time in Blacks. Was served by Shirley 294 in Worcester shop, was lovely lady and went above and beyond. Will definitely go again. Bought some walking boots and was a real bargain

I saw a storm jacket online I liked so I decided to go into the store in Sheffield but it wasn,t in stock but an assistant let me try a similar one on for size and then kindly ordered it for me. It came the next evening early. I, m so pleased with it ,its ideal for my uk holiday , lightweight, waterproof and has good hood on it. Its a good quality and it was in the sale. The staff were so helpful, I would definitely buy there again.

I was looking for a new pair of Merrell Accentor walking shoes in the Basingstoke store having tried on 20 pairs of other walking shoes before Christmas, none of which were comfortable. The assistant Vaughan was extremely helpful and informative. I tried on every single style in the range to find the one that suited me best. Having had such difficulty finding comfortable walking shoes in the past, Vaughan recommended trying them for several days at home after which I could return them by a set date if they turned out to be unsuitable.

I was looking for a new pair of walking boots or shoes in the Lincoln store. The assistant was extremely helpful and informative, even though he was quite busy with other customers. I tried on a few and found some from among a wide range, with an excellent discount. I was also recommended on purchasing the boots to try them for comfort within the house for a few days, and that I could return them by a set date if they turned out to be unsuitable.

The Scarpa boots arrived in good time and are light and comfortable. But I do wish that Blacks would resist the trend towards "fashion" boots i.e. too narrow. I can only wear one pair of socks under the boots. Worth saying that my actual size is 5.5, and these boots are 6.5. Even so, lovely boots. But my feet were cold!
