We were really impressed with the whole set up at Burford Blue Cross. We had a phone assessment first to see if we might be suitable for adopting our dog and then went to the site to meet her a couple of times. The staff were friendly and very helpful and gave us good advice and we now have a happy dog as part of our family. It is wonderful to know that places like this exist and we would definitely recommend to anyone who is looking to adopt a pet in the future.

Burford Blue Cross were great, I rehomed my new family member on the 7th Dec.2024. They were able to see if I was able to handle such a big and young animal, we talked and laughed which enabled a better reflection of my character and personality so to help get a better bond. They showed me how he behaved with other dogs, made sure I was fully aware of the mannerisms of the breed and the work entailed. They were very professional and stuck up with my jabbering on.
Would recommend to anyone.thanks all, merry Christmas and may 2025 be a good one for yourselves and rehoming of the animals.

As a cat foster parent I can only commend the work of the Blue X team, they hold the health & care of the pet 1st & give such support to me & ensure that the forever home is the most suitable for the animals needs. Very proud to be part of this charity.

Extremely Disappointing and Unprofessional Treatment at Blue Cross
Iâm absolutely appalled by my experience at Blue Cross. While the charityâs mission to help animals is important, the way I was treated by the staff was completely unacceptable.
The staff, mostly volunteers, were rude, dismissive, and made assumptions on me based on my financial situation simply because Iâm on benefits. Instead of offering help or showing any empathy, they treated me like I was undeserving of assistance. Itâs upsettingt hat in a time of desperation, when youâre relying on a charity for support, you're met with judgment and contempt.
When I tried to explain my situation or ask questions, I was met with condescension and an unwillingness to engage. To make matters worse, despite multiple requests to have inaccurate and biased notes removed from their system, I was told nothing could be done. The information they left on file continues to misrepresent my visit, and I am now left with a record that doesnât reflect the true nature of my experience. It was clear that their priority was protecting their own egos, rather than focusing on the well-being of my pet.
Though I escalated my concerns, I found that the response was no differentâeveryone followed the same pattern of dismissal and disregard. I was informed that there is a formal complaints procedure, which takes 10 days to resolve. However, during those 10 days, my petâs condition worsens, leaving me in a state of frustration and helplessness. This process felt more like dealing with a corporation than a charity thatâs supposed to care about the animals and people it serves.
The behavior I encountered was unprofessional and cruel. Volunteers are supposed to help, not belittle and alienate those who need support. Itâs appalling that a charity like Blue Cross would treat people who are already struggling with such disdain.
I will not be returning, not that my pet will be missed and I strongly urge others to be cautious when seeking help from this organisation. And I hope I slipped through the net as I dread to think that this is a regular occurance! If youâre in a vulnerable situation, be prepared to massage the ego's this way you will get the help you need, and be aware that any negative information will remain on your record despite your requests for fairness.

We adopted two dogs from the Burford shelter. They are lovely dogs and a wonderful addition to our family. Although the dogs hadnât been socialised the team understood we were the right fit and the boys are now cuddling up to us, sleeping on our laps and are happy to be lifted up when needed.
The process was easy, we got to meet with the team and dogs prior to adoption and are really happy with the dogs.

What a great team special mention to Caz who looked after us throughout the rehoming process.
Only complaint is that you would like to offer a home to all.

What made my experience great was that the team at Manchester responded very quickly when they were aware that it was an urgent need. Due to illness my 3 pets needed rehoming, the initial assessment was thorough and the detailed assessment looked into the unique needs of each pet. I am so very grateful to them at Manchester Blue Cross for the helpand compassion they've shown.

We had to rehome our much loved cat and chose Blue Cross because she could go straight to her new forever home. Devon Blue were absolutely fantastic! The initial assessment forms were very thorough so they knew her needs and were able to find the perfect home for her. My family were all so sad but they fully supported us in the process by giving lots of information and liaising between us and the new owner so that our cat had the best transfer. They even have a helpline to talk to someone at times when I felt so sad! The best thing was that Blue Cross forwarded us a few updates from the new owner as to how she was settling in. This was amazing and gave us such reassurance that we had done the right things for our cat. The whole Devon Blue Cross team were amazing, kind and non-judgemental and did their absolute best for our cat in the rehoming process.

Lovely, lovely people at the Burford branch who clearly have a passion for what they do.
The focus is on matching the right pet with the right people and we truly appreciated the due diligence shown by the team at Burford.

Newport rehoming Centre were fantastic!
Spoke to Rhiannon who was incredibly welcoming kind and friendly and clearly had the animals best interests at heart.
All communication was clear and punctual. They were so generous and let us take our time to meet Myla so she felt comfortable to come home with us. Would highly recommend!

Wonderful experience from the moment I rang the Exeter Rehoming & Advice Unit to post adoption support. Two members of staff, Jess and Rebecca, were real stars and offered brilliant customer service. They were also sensitive to my concerns and anxiety about selecting the right cat. I would thoroughly recommend Exeter Rehoming and Advice Unit if you're looking to adopt or foster an animal.

Everyone we spoke to and met at the Hertfordshire Rehoming Centre were friendly and helpful. The care taken with our kittens before we took them home was very thorough and professional. The advice on settling in worked amazingly well. We have two healthy, lively kittens who are happy to spend time with us, as well as explore the house and play together. We are so glad we could give them a home.

We had such a great experience with the Bluecross. Everyone at Southampton site made it very positive, welcoming & such an overall extremely easy adoption. They found the perfect dog for us & for Ruby the perfect family.

I recently have rehomed a dream 2 year old cat called Stumpie, she was a stray and part of her tail was amputated. The staff at the Blue Cross in Hedge end were really lovely and very informative and honest. They have done such a wonderful job looking after her while in their care and I'm so grateful for taking her on because she is so loving and sociable, I don't think I've ever known a cat like it. It's made me realize how much of an amazing job the Blue Cross do.

No right calling themselves a charity when they actually are now charging the same if not more than private vets!!! Even their flea & worming treatment has now gone up a whopping £13 per month from £7.10.... Abbey vets are slightly cheaper & Ray's vets charge the same! Also my friends dog was in pain at the weekend & was told she had to pay £50 just to be seen!! Utterly disgraceful!
