I have purchased several high quality dresses that I dearly love from British Retro. I am purchasing a beautiful dress to wear to a summer wedding. I highly recommend shopping for this shop. 🙂

I just love the clothes from British Retro. I have purchased several dresses and fluffy petticoats and always get lots of compliments. I like the fact that the dresses are designed and made in the UK and are well made and great quality. The fabrics are beautiful and wash well. Customer service is good, very swift replies to e-mail queries.
If you are a fan of the 50's look this is most definitely the place for you.

I finally found the holy grail of dress retailers! Beautiful handmade dresses, made in England that actually fit and are flattering. There’s something for everyone and I recommend them to everyone who compliments me on my new dress. The delivery was quick and the quality faultless.

I’ve bought several dresses from British Retro. My favourite style is the Way Out West shirt dress. It has a lovely full skirt.
The newer version has pockets and these are a good size to hold my phone.
The dress size is true to size.
The fabric quality is excellent. I have standard cotton which is quite light and comfortable for summer and I have the thicker cotton which is great for winter.
The colour combinations of the tartans is lovely and really unusual.
I get lots of compliments when I’m wearing British Retro.

Exceptional quality and value for money. My wife loves the style and fit of all the dresses she has .British retro are her favourite.

I found this company whilst looking for a retro wedding outfit and have been in love with their designs and finished garments ever since! Great quality and value, good postal service and providing you follow the guidelines for returns, a no hassle return service.
Better still I have been complimented on my clothes by strangers and friends, and even been pursued into a restaurant toilets by a lady who wanted to know where I got the dress from. My only comment is to check out the sizing carefully.

I've purchased multiple dresses so far, and have been very happy with the quality. Items have arrived in a reasonable time for coming from the UK. The petticoats in particular are of a better quality than others I've purchased in the past. Very happy customer!

I have bought many of the dresses from British Retro, mostly the DeeDee style Velvet full circle, in various colours because it is the most beautiful dress for me.

I have it in five colours now and already there are two more in my shopping basket.
I do Ceroc/modern jive dancing, and the dresses always get amazing compliments. I feel like a princess in them.
Luxurious fabric, no skimping on the material.
I am a size 18, which is the biggest size they make, not often any left in the sales.

They are petticoats are full, soft and just perfect under their dresses, I have tried other brands and sent them back for being too stiff or itchy. You cannot beat BR petticoats- I have three, and need a lot of room to store them.

This is my go to company when I want a new dress.
I haven’t bought any of their full circle skirts, the tartan pattern that features a lot isn’t really my style but the next time I have a hoedown, I will get one.

Initially not knowing how the fit would be I ordered dresses in a couple of sizes and the returns process was fast and simple.

Some of the dresses are a slightly more snug fit in the top bodice part, but the description does make you aware.

I love this company, and recommend them highly.

Delivery was quick too.

British Retro dresses are unique in that they offer high quality construction and beautiful fabrics in retro styles. Other brands may offer similar styles, but are not of the same quality. The pricing is good for what you get and they often have sale items which are a steal.

Different styles may have different sizing guidelines so don't assume 2 different styles in the same size will both fit you. You need to check sizing on each one.

The dresses I've ordered are just like they appear on the site. If you like what you see in your size, buy it before it's gone!

Every piece of clothing has been made with care. High quality fabric. When buttons broke, more were sent speedily. Great customer service. I happily purchase from this company again and again.

Seem to think they're not held to the consumer rights act. 21 business days for a refund when the law states 14 days? Don't think so! Terrible service.

I ordered a couple dresses for my wife for our anniversary, all you need is to keep true to the measurements and it fits like a glove.
The stitching is done beautifully, and the paterns are very nice.
One of the dresses is the "From Kitty with Love" in red, which she wanted as a Christmas dress, the fabric is quite a bit heavier, which works out well, because it makes it a warmer dress for those cold days.
The shipping went very well, no problems, and the dresses were volded in such way that no crease could be found.
Very pleased with it all!

Generally the quality of the clothing is pretty good. The jewellery looks like cheap rubbish. 21 WORKING DAYS REFUND POLICY IS ABSOLUTELY REDICULOUS.
Sizing is pretty ropey now, generous/tight fit does not mean everywhere. Generous size can be generous in bust, but standard in waist or hips etc. Ive been a customer for 10 years. Customer service is now pretty poor. Dont buy full price, wait for discount weekends etc. Delivery takes 1 week uk, but debits immediately, whilst customers are expected to wait over a month for a refund from the date BR receive it. Used to be 5 star company, now 2 stars is being generous
