I have recieved my first dress...and i love it...quality is amazing, as is the sizeing...its simply stunning...colour is beautiful...theres so many items i love on British Retro ...and would highly reccomend

I never thought I will be able to wear a 1950 style dess in a size 16. I just tried british retro and I must say the dress is beautiful. Even with a petticoat it makes a fantasic figure. I tried British retro because i wanted to surprise my Husband with a 50 th style weddingdress for our Wedding anniversary. After I received this fabulous Looby Loo Dress I'm even more convinced to look beautiful in this white Dee Dee wedding dress. That will be my next order.The quality and the make is just fantastic

Just got my package, and everything from the tartan skirt to the heat clutch bag is fabulous! It’s rare to find such quality and care in online shopping. I'm already looking at what to buy next!

I placed an order for beautiful Dee Dee dress in powder blue on Saturday, it arrived Tuesday! Not only was delivery super quick but I was so pleased with the dress, petticoat and a few accessories I ordered. I'm no skinny mini, a 56yr old size 16 (on a good day!) mature lady but, the quality of the fabric and the fit exceeded all my expectations. I'm really looking forward to Goodwood Revival this year. I would definitely buy again.

I ordered the black watch tartan swing dress and it is AMAZING! The quality is superb and it flatters in every way. I’m not very confident but in this I feel beautiful. I’m so tempted to get another dress in same style as this one will be worn to death!!!
I also bought the petticoat to go under it and it takes it to a whole other lever and can be worn as skirt in its own right!! Yes, there are cheaper petticoats out there but the quality of this is second to none and didn’t mind spending the money as it’s worth every penny!
BR are a pleasure to deal with and I love the fact they’re a British company.
Thank you so so much as I now have a beautiful outfit for my daughter’s wedding.

Two stars for beautiful dresses, however ordering is just not worth it! It is fine if the dresses are OK but returning is costly, a hassle and you wait a long time for a refund.
I ordered two dresses, one of which was faulty. The returns policy is that you only get a refund if they receive the item and the responsibility is yours. So as the only secure way with insurance was special delivery, I paid £9.95, of which only £4.95 was refundable.
I have now waited for 12 days and I have still not been refunded.
I contacted British Retro only to be told this can take 14 days, despite knowing that the item was received the next day through special delivery.
Better off using collectif or other online retailers, as well as these do not have good customer service.

I placed an order for 2 dresses over a month ago. The ordering and delivery process went well, however the sizing on both dresses was unusual - very big around the hips, very small around the bust. Both were returned, signed for as recommended. As per their T&Cs, I waited 14 working days for my refund to be processed. Even accounting for Easter bank holidays we are now at well over the 14 working day mark, a polite email enquiring about my refund has not been responded to, so I am now at a point where over a month ago I ordered two dresses that didn't fit true to size at all, and am £159 out of pocket.

I have purchased a few dresses from British Retro and they are beautifully made and true to size and look just like the ones in the website. The delivery was good keeping me updated on what Time it would arrive. The accessories are really lovely and the petticoat, hat and earrings are beautiful. good and quick service even abroad staff are very helpful and reply to emails and queries very quickly i am very pleased with the products bought as yet i haveny bought any clothes but im sure i will and they are probably of good quality. belle replied to mystraight away. i can recommend this site i bought a red handbag which i love and glasses just waiting for the sun to wear them so if you see something you like dont hesitate valerie ahnegård

I had my eye on a dress in the sale and kept going back to look at it again. I gave in and ordered it and I'm so glad I did. The dress was half price, amazing quality and it feels so soft on. I got so many compliments wearing it. I will definitely be buying again from British Retro.
Also delivery was quick my dress came in a little bag which I will reuse. Very happy customer.

It took several days for my order to arrive (Eastern Europe), though much depends on the customs.

The purchased items are of a surprising quality and sizing was correctly presented, it can be relied on. British Retro dress is now my most favourite one among many. Fits perfectly. It endured a lot of dancing and partying, and got me so many compliments. I will definitely be purchasing it in a different tartan colour combination.

Yes, I can honestly recommend this brand.

Return polices are not very helpful - was told explicitly to wait for two weeks for confirmation of return request as it had to be checked due to it being a small business (else my return would be invalid). No reply. Waited two weeks as I didn't want to void the return and by the time I got in contact with customer service it was too late to return items that follow very odd sizing, not as advertised even if you follow size guide. Review policy and size guide needs to be reviewed for a better customer experience.

Received my beautiful stone tweed vintage dress and it’s absolutely gorgeous. The quality is outstanding, the fit is perfect which is always tricky to get with online purchases. Super pleased, will definitely be purchasing more dresses from you.

I always feel so special when I wear my British Retro outfits. I was even stopped in the street yesterday and complimented on my outfit? When does that happen nowadays??? The tailoring is unbelievable, especially for the price. Brings a bit of Hollywood glamour to my day.

British retro has been my favourite clothing brand for a while. Whenever I want to feel stylish, classy and feminine I wear one of the dresses from this brand. The fabrics and the styles are always immaculate and I always get many compliments when I wear them. Can’t wait to buy another outfit!

Fast delivery, perfect fit - I’m 12-14 and on advice did t size down chose 14 and fits like a glove, great quality and a fantastic design - the added extra of a belt was a nice surprise and finishes the outfit off perfect - will be purchasing more items - very happy 😃
