Poor quality, avoid!
We had two bathroom mixers from Burlington: Claremont Angled Bath Shower Mixer for the bath and the Claremont 2 Tap Hole Bridge Basin Mixer.
Despite their deceptively premium looks and price, both were the most poor quality and unreliable pieces of plumbing around the house.
In reality, the shower switch of the bath tap is poorly designed. It felt wobbly from new and in its end positions stands in the way of the cold&hot taps. It also went bust after 4.5 years - something snapped inside and we could no longer switch the shower on.
The basin tap was no much better: developed leaks from under the swivel joint, which itself, was poorly designed and unreliable.
So after less than 5 years we had to replace them both.
Based on my experience I wouldn't ever touch Burlington taps again with a bargepole.
I have a brand new faulty shower that leaksâŠ
I have a faulty shower that leaks constantly. It leaked form the day it was fitted. I contacted Dan Lowe in customer service and he told me to get my plumber back to check whether it was a faulty product or the actual fitting of the shower.
I paid a call out fee and my plumber confirmed that it was a faulty shower.
I let Dan Lowe know in customer care and he is now saying its due to limescale. It leaked on day one. The shower is now 2 months old.and they are refusing to do anything.
I will have to take it to get financial Ombudsman.
Absolutely appalling
The shower RRP is £800 and does not work
AVOID
Bought a pricey radiator which had change colour!
Bought a pricey radiator which has changed colour from white to cream and which Crosswater acknowledged as a known fault after sending them photos with their branding on it. Now they say it is not a known fault, that we have to return the radiator to the retailer. We cannot remember whom we bought it from, they should know who it was as we had cause to go back to them for a small part. Who pays for the plumber to take it out, the packing and postage and the re-installation and what do we do without a radiator? They say they canât send anyone. Just appalling customer service, they take your money, admit the known about problem then change their mind about that, just donât buy anything from them if you want certainty that your purchases wonât change colour. Shame on you Crosswater.
Disgraceful company
Disgraceful company. Completely useless customer support team. Guarantee that is not worth the paper it is written on. Expensive products, poor quality and dire staff. Buy something else.

Very poor quality in less than 5 years I have had to replace bathroom tap, shower head, bathroom shower valve and waste components
Honestly - itâs looks great and is made from very poor quality materials
And itâs not cheap!!!
So disappointing
Really poor company to deal with.
Burlington Bathrooms are a poor company to deal with and their products are of poor quality even though they are quite expensively priced.
We bought a complete bathroom including WC with raised cistern, shower screen and exposed victorian shower mixer, hand basin and taps with pedestal and a freestanding bath and chrome hydrant waste. These items were purchased before the bathroom suite was ready to fit and the warranty had expired just before fitting. On fitting both bath taps leaked and Burlington refused to replace them under warranty even though they had never been used and had remained boxed-up and carefully stored. They said we needed to pay for two expensive brass tap cartridges to fix the dripping, so we paid for these, but then was told by our plumber that we had been misled and we just needed two rubber washers costing less than £1.
Also the WC seat is supposed to be extra strong, but the lid broke after it had been installed for only one year, revealing it to be made of compressed sawdust. Burlington said because this was out of warranty we would have to pay for a new one ourselves.
These people have no sense of good will towards their customers. AVOID.
OVERPRICED POOR QUALITY
OVERPRICED POOR QUALITY. I purchased a full Burlington suite 5 years ago. In that time I have had to replace-
1 cistern valve (bought via internet as none in stock)
There has been 2 leaks on the shower mixer with 1 months wait for parts (none in stock - again).
A cheap plastic component within the shower head failed causing the head to fall to the floor. £123.00 for replacement and the whole head is made of plastic.
The "oak" toilet seat is in fact chipboard.
I am happy to pay extra for items that last. Sadly this has not been the case here.
We have 2 Burlinghton Bathroom oakâŠ
We have 2 Burlinghton Bathroom oak toilet seats, one is 2 and a half years old, the other was replaced due to cracking after one year and the replacement is just over 3 years old. Both seats have cracking, discolouration and the laminated surface is coming away from wood beneath causing splinters. They look unsightly and are in my opinion are very unhygienic. Burlington Bathroom customer service advise me that the problem is caused by putting bleach into the toilet pan and the fumes not being able to escape. I do use bleach in the toilet pan but never close the lid when doing so. I am very disappointed with the product and believe that these seats are not fit for purpose.
Cant praise the support team enough!
I was searching for a spare part for my shower, needless to say I searched and searched to no avail. I then made contact with the support team and I can only say how helpful and curtious they were and were quick to follow up with my questions..
Poor support for Bauhaus failings
We ordered the refitting of three bathrooms and a toilet from a kitchen/bathroom fitting company. They recommended we use largely Bauhaus fittings supplied by Crosswater. The fittings included four chrome towel heater radiators. For each we had a square chrome radiator valve. These valves were £45 a pair and so were not cheap. After three years, four out of eight valves have leaked.
We discovered the installation company had gone into liquidation but we knew Crosswater was the valve supplier.
When we approached Crosswater about the first leak, at first they were slow to respond. They said that they did not have any experience of the Bauhaus valves leaking. Finally they sent a replacement pair which we had to pay to get a plumber to install. After removal, the defective valve looked as though the valve innards (looked like brass) had rusted.
When others started to leak and we informed Crosswater, they again expressed surprise but said they would do some investigation. They said that they would then send us tested valves. Of course we would again have to pay to have these fitted.
So far the replacement valves have not been sent.
Apart from the inconvenience of having leaking valves and the cost of having to have replacements fitted, I am no longer confident the replacement valves will not also leak. Despite Crosswater saying they are surprised that the valves leak, it is hard to believe that 50% valve failure is not evidence of a quality failure with these valves.
Not the quality I was expecting
Bought a shower, toilet and sink. Mainly because of the wonderful looking traditional style of the products. The shower enclosure feels flimsy and has took the fitters a couple attempts to get it to all sit correctly.
The sink is the 2nd one we had for the unit and does not sit even close to parallel to the wall. Granted the difference is 5mm at the worst point but it is very noticable. The supplier says it is within tolerances and because they are kiln fired they are all warped and out of shape to some extent. I could forgive that its not straight on every other edge but it should at least be parallel to the wall where its most noticeable. I was then belittled by a "rep" who was from a supplier of burlington (not from the actual company) and made to feel like I was being unreasonable because he has been in the business for 45 years and nobody has ever saw a problem like this. Which is fair enough if it hadn't been for several other people who noticed the problem and pointed it out to me.
As well as that the badge on the toilet seat is clearly off centre. Not that that was really an issue but the "rep" also denied that and so I feel it should be included. He did have to come back twice to rectify the wobble in the seat though.
