Poor communication with parents, high rotation of staff

Excellent nursery.
My daughter was always looking forward to going to this nursery.
She comes back home humming the nursery rhymes, replicating everything thought . It's absolutely excellent

Busy Bees in Ayr is/was an amazing place for my child to grow and learn. The staff are absolutely amazing and care and love the children like they are their own. We as parents, are all deeply saddened that the Ayr branch has been forced to close.

Busy Bees as a company, I do not rate at all. They told both parents and staff they would help support us and the kids with finding other nursery facilities, which they didn't. They also said they'd answer any questions we had in regards to the closure of the Ayr branch, however when hard questions were asked, we were ignored or giving generic answers which didn't actually answer anything.

I cannot speak highly enough of the staff at the Ayr Branch. My child will deeply miss them all. My negative comments are in no way directed towards them. But at Busy Bees as a whole and how they dealt with an extremely difficult time for not only their nursery families, but their staff that give their all everyday.

Please note my star rating is directed at the whole company not the Ayr branch in anyway whatsoever, I give them 5 ⭐️

We couldn’t be happier with this nursery (Plymouth Branch). The staffs are incredibly kind, caring, and dedicated, and they always go above and beyond to make every child feel safe, happy, and valued. ☺️

The nursery has been closed by Ofsted with immediate effect for the second time, leaving parents with very little information and causing unnecessary stress and uncertainty for families.

The biggest positive has been the staff. They have worked incredibly hard to provide a safe, caring, and nurturing environment for the children despite the challenges they have faced. They deserve recognition for their professionalism, dedication, and commitment.

A special thank you to Kim, who has been amazing throughout, and to Maya, who has such a wonderful rapport with the children. Your patience, kindness, and genuine care are clear to see, and you both deserve so much credit for everything you’ve done. Maya, you have a very bright future ahead of you, and you’ll be greatly missed by the children and families who have had the pleasure of knowing you.

In my opinion, the problems lie with the management rather than the staff. It’s heartbreaking to see such dedicated employees affected by poor leadership. My thoughts are with the children, parents, and staff who have all been let down by this situation.

My child had a best childcare at Busy Bess. The staff are amazing and they look after well at the kids. The Nursery manager is so kind and has lot of patience. Highly recommended.

Please don’t just look at the 5-star reviews. Read the recent 1 and 2-star reviews as well and make your own mind up.

It also appears that whenever the nursery receives a number of poor reviews, the organisation starts encouraging reviews from other Busy Bees sites to boost its overall rating and push the negative reviews further down. Whether that’s intentional or not, it makes it much harder for parents to get a true picture of what’s been happening at this nursery.

As a parent, I couldn’t recommend this nursery.

For the second time, parents have been told on a Friday evening at 5:07 pm that the nursery is closing again, this time for at least six weeks, following another Ofsted visit. If you rely on childcare to work, imagine being given that news just before the weekend with virtually no opportunity to make alternative arrangements.

What makes this even more frustrating is that after the first closure, I was personally reassured by Chris McCandless, CEO of Busy Bees UK & Europe, that this had been treated as a top priority, changes had been made and they were working hard to rebuild parents’ trust. Yet here we are again, facing another closure.

The only reason we kept our son at the nursery after the first closure was because of the incredible care shown by Laura, Macey and Karen. They were the reason we gave the nursery another chance. I even asked for my positive feedback about them to be passed on, and I was assured it would be. It never was.

I don’t blame the staff who genuinely care for the children. They have often been left in an impossible position. My issue is with the organisation and its leadership. Parents have repeatedly been let down by poor communication, broken promises and a lack of confidence that the nursery is being managed effectively.

Choosing a nursery is one of the biggest decisions you’ll make as a parent. You need to know your child is somewhere safe, stable and reliable. Sadly, that confidence has completely disappeared for us.

I genuinely hope things improve because the children, families and staff deserve better. But based on our experience, I would strongly encourage any parent considering Busy Bees Colton Mill to read all of the recent reviews, not just the 5-star ones, before making a decision.

We will be removing our son permanently from this setting. An organisation of this size should not be relying on a handful of amazing staff to carry them.

The ONLY reason we returned after the initial re opening was due to staff members namely Karen, Macey , Laura and Kim. The staff who returned after the closure and worked tirelessly to rebuild the confidence parents had understandably lost should have been nurtured, valued and recognised in order to retain the only saving grace this company had!

It seems positive feedback hasn’t been passed on which is really sad and actually quite baffling!

The children, parents and staff all deserved better. Busy Bees should be ashamed of themselves.

Do not send your child here! In the early days when my daughter was in the baby room, Karen was fantastic. However it has quickly gone down hill, and been closed not once but twice by ofsted in a 2 month period. Higher management have no clue how to efficiently run a nursery which is a huge concern given they are a national nursery. Leaving us with no childcare, the night before the closures. Not good enough.

This company lacks basic professional courtesy; they confirmed my interview time and date, but then failed to show up or notify me that it was cancelled, wasting my time. Horrible company. DO NOT WORK HERE

My son attends the nursery and has been there since baby room, now he is in the preschool room where he is thriving and absolutely loves it. He gets upset that he can’t go to nursery on the days he’s not in. He comes home excited to tell us about his day and has formed amazing friendships with staff and other children. The staff are welcoming and friendly and always go above and beyond to help and support us by giving lovely hand overs each day at pick up and uploading special moment pictures of things he does while at nursery which is brilliant to be able to see what he’s getting up to and how happy he looks in each photo! Would definitely recommend busy bees rainham.

We couldn't be happier with our experience at Busy Bees Wootton Fields. The staff are caring, friendly, and genuinely invested in every child's wellbeing and development. From the moment our child started, they made us feel welcome and reassured, taking the time to get to know our family and our child's individual needs.

The nursery provides a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment with a fantastic range of activities that support learning through play. It's wonderful to see how much our child has grown in confidence, developed new skills, and formed such positive relationships with both the team and other children.

Communication with parents is excellent, and we always feel well informed about our child's day and progress. It's clear that the team work incredibly hard to create a happy and supportive atmosphere for every child.

We would highly recommend Busy Bees Wootton Fields to any family looking for a caring, professional, and welcoming nursery. Thank you to the whole team for everything you do!

My little girl loves going to nursery and has gained the most confidence. I feel happy that she is safe and happy while attending busy bees. Especially with her key worker Shannon who she loves and Ibby.

Sienna is incredibly happy at BusyBees nursery in Warton. She always goes in with a smile, and when I collect her she is buzzing with happinesses after a great day. The staff are wonderful and kind, and Sienna talks fondly of her nursery friends & teachers when at home. And she always says Yay! when I tell her that she has nursery in the morning. What more could a parent ask for? Moving Sienna to BusyBees Warton nursery is one of the best decisions I have made for her.

Busybees Swindon: Improvement in hygiene needed as staff wear their outside footwears inside, even on the carpet where babies sit and play.
Looks like they are short of resources because many of the times, care taker is different for my toddler because of which it becomes difficult for them to settle down in nursery.

I am very happy with my son’s educator - Daisy. She has been dedicated, extremly patient and helpful to change my son s feeding habits. When he joined the nursery he accepted only milk and now he is eating soup and some solid. She was also very good in reading his needs and comforting him- and I am truly thankful for her help. Also other girls in the room specially Molly and Lily did everything the can to manage his needs and make him happy in Daisy’s absence. A huge thank you and a lot of gratitude

I love how my child is learning fast and kudos to the teachers for not letting my kid be left behind . My experience has been lovely nothing to change keep the good work .

Busy Bees have given my son and I a great experience so far, eased us both into nursery so mum and son feel happy. Always put my mind at ease when questioning how my son is. Seem to do lots of activities in the day to keep him occupied. Staff are always very friendly.
