My partner and I recently purchased a house with the help of Luke and Paul at Cairds. They were both extremely informative, approachable, and respectful of our space during viewings. Throughout the sale and solicitor process, they kept up consistent communication and support. In the final stages, they even helped resolve financial differences between us and the sellers. If I decide to sell in the future, it will definitely be through Cairds. 10/10 service.

Unprofessionalism and lack of customer care at its peak.

I rarely leave negative reviews, as I appreciate that oversights can happen, but my experience with Cairds has unfortunately been the most unprofessional and frustrating I have ever had with an estate agency — from the initial viewing to the mishandling of the referencing process.

From the outset, communication was inconsistent and dismissive. Despite expressing strong interest in a property, my calls were ignored, only for a male friend of mine to be able to secure a viewing immediately after calling on my behalf. This lack of basic courtesy was the first of many red flags.

After submitting my offer (which was accepted), I was not informed that the agent handling my case had gone on holiday, nor was I reassigned to another team member. I had to escalate directly to the director to move the process forward. Even then, with a move-in date less than ten days away, Cairds failed to take responsibility for progressing the referencing process. I was left to chase both the agency and the referencing company myself, repeatedly supplying documents while receiving no guidance or updates.

Each time I sought clarity, I was assured “everything was fine” — assurances which proved entirely misleading. Calls and emails went unanswered, yet the same male friend of mine received instant responses when he rang on my behalf.

Ultimately, I was belatedly informed — only after pressing for answers — that the landlords were divorcing and the property would likely be sold. Cairds promised to update me if it returned to the rental market. Days later, it quietly reappeared online with no communication from them.

The entire experience has been marked by poor communication, lack of accountability, and a disregard for transparency or professionalism. I strongly urge Cairds to reflect on how they handle clients, as experiences such as mine erode trust entirely.

Purchased a property via Cairds, where Luke was the sales consultant. The process was relatively smooth and stress free. Luke ensured I was kept up to date with the sellers needs and communications flowed well between all parties involved. Overall I was pleased with the process.

We approached three local agents in Ashtead to market our property. Cairds, lead by Gavin, were the most active one and actioned immediate follow ups that made us to choose them. We did not regret our choice.
Through the whole journey Gavin and the team kept us in the loop with active communication and updates. As most of the sales processes, they never go without hiccups (and neither did ours), but Gavin guided us through it with his experience and professionalism. We were immensely impressed how at the signing and closing stage he kept checking and working through the chain to make sure everyone (especially the lawyers) were doing their bit. We can give a very strong personal recommendation to the Cairds Ashtead team.

Luke was really helpful throughout the whole process. From initial viewing through to completion, he was on hand to answer any questions with clear communication. I would recommend him to anyone buying, thanks Luke!

Gavin was extremely helpful, professional and patient was a delight to deal with an agent who actually cared about seller and buyer. He followed through when we asked questions, and was very much in touch with both the seller and us as buyers.
Even after we completed Gavin followed through with some other post completion questions. Nothing was too much bother for him. Highly recommend
