I first enquired about lens replacement surgery in the middle of June 2020 and has the surgery on 12th and 19th of August. The procedure was very good and following my check up on 21st September I was informed I now have 20/20 vision. The outcome has been exactly as I wished and I received excellent care throughout. I had cataract surgery - both eyes - at the Cathedral Eye Clinic recently and I'm delighted with the result.
From first contact to post-op assessment I was treated with professionalism, friendliness, and transparency by all the staff.
And it was quick and easy: about 8 weeks from start to finish - and this during the Covid lockdown!
After my cataract diagnosis in Cork, I was told I might be on a waiting list for surgery for up to 2 years.
But I knew about the EU's Cross Border Directive, got in touch with the Cathedral Eye Clinic, and after
that it was plain sailing.
I highly recommend the clinic and its excellent staff, led by top man Professor Johnny Moore.

I was somewhat apprehensive attending Cathedral Clinic for cataract surgery as I knew there were some complexities arising from previous surgery. I need not have worried -- everyone was extremely calm, professional and reassuring, from the optometrists to the nurses, anaesthetist to Professor Moore himself. i have excellent sight in the treated eye, and I am delighted with the outcome. i just wish I had done it earlier!

So pleased I went see Professor Moore and his team at Cathedral Eye Clinic. The staff are friendly yet so professional and have been great from start to finish. I had three different types of glasses, driving, computer use and bifocals. Within a day of having my lens replacement procedures I no longer need any pair of glasses and my eyesight continues to improve having just had my first review appointment after 5 weeks. The best decision with the best team of professionals I’ve ever made. Thank you so much to everyone there.

A very welcoming and helpful staff, the procedure its self was easy and unobtrusive. I was looked after very well from the first interview until my 1st post yearly check up.
I should say I still feel that this was the best money I have ever spent. It has given me back 20/20 vision, Its a quality of life thing !

I am very happy with the Cathedral Eye Clinic. Following my treatment I experienced delayed healing. The whole team was checking up on me every 1-2 days to make sure everything is fine. They were answering my questions with patience. I am still on my way to full recovery, waiting for an improvement in my eyesight. I was happy to hear that the surgery worked according to the measurements.

Rapid deterioration in my sight through medical treatment. Never needed glasses all my life. Got a consultation for the following week with surgery one week later and second eye done 10th Jan. I have 20/20 vision in both eyes. Staff very professional and courteous. Painfree and efficient treatment. Mr Grizti a great surgeon. This review was not solicited.

I had SMILE surgery done yesterday at Cathedral Eye clinic. Amazing how quickly I can see so clearly! 24hours later I have better than 20/20 vision - pilot level!

I initially had a quote from another provider and felt very uneasy with them as they were very pushy. Cathedral eye were the total opposite, very professional and gave me plenty of time to decide. Really felt like I could trust them, especially Andrew and Professor Moore.

The procedure itself while slightly unnerving was completely pain free and no pain after either. Would definitely recommend Cathedral Eye Clinic

When I finally decided to go for eye surgery, I chose Cathedral Eye Clinic as they were highly recommended to me. I had lense replacement surgery four weeks ago. From my initial consolations to the after care everyone was professional, friendly and very informative. My biggest concern was seeing what was going on but you see nothing. I had no pain during or after my surgery and my eyesight is amazing both distance and reading. I would highly recommend Cathedral Eye Clinic.

Excellent, Wish I’d done it years ago! Everything was thoroughly explained- the treatment was quick and painless and the aftercare was brilliant. The clinic was very accommodating with fitting in after care appointments to suit me. I couldn’t find fault with anything and would highly recommend Cathedral eye clinic to anyone. Absolutely life changing experience .. I can see glasses and contacts free the whole procedure from beginning to end was informative friendly supportive and most of all they answered all my questions or concerns to make me feel as relaxed and prepared for the surgery. Both surgeons and anaesthetics were great really tried to reduce my nervousness and anxious feelings. The reception staff and all of the care team involved throughout the whole procedures were fabulous.

I was put at ease from the beginning at my first visit to the Clinic, from the friendly and caring attitude of each person with whom I had contact. I know they were concerned for me as an individual. This followed through with each procedure and the following check-ups.

I was treated with dignity and respect. The results of my cataract removal is like a new life to me and has given me such joy and confidence in myself again. I feel younger and stronger than when I had fear of falling and could no longer read, which was always a big part of who I am.

I attended for surgery on 3 Apr 2019 with some trepidation, having a phobia about anyone working near my eyes. There was a period of worrying along with an overactive imagination on turbo-drive.
The reality was a total contrast. Nothing of my imaginings came to fruition. The procedure was relaxed, explained and expertly performed.
I am delighted with the results and I would not hesitate to encourage others to avail of this excellent service. From beginning to end, there was evidence of the highest professional standards and care. Thank you to all involved.

I recently had lens replacement at Cathedral Eye clinic and the results exceeded my expectations. All the staff that I interacted with from the receptionists to Professor Moore himself were wonderful. They put me at my ease while answering all my questions but with no pressure or hard sell. I knew what was happening at every stage of the procedure both pre and post op and the consultations are very thorough. The staff were always professional but also very personable and friendly. I would highly recommend this clinic.

At 74 I had been advised of cataracts forming for four years, and their effect on the eyesight was being noticed, particularly when driving in the dark and also needing a brighter light to read at home. Specsavers recommended Cathedral Eye Clinic, although, before deciding, I did investigate all options in Ireland. Finally decided on Cathedral because of their professionalism and thoroughness when having an initial consultation, and also phone call discussions to help in my final decision as to the type of lenses that would be inserted.
The surgery went exactly to plan, as did the recuperation and final result.
I would have no hesitation is recommending Cathedral Eye Clinic because my experience suggested that the quality and variety of equipment they had available was superb. In fact I felt they had the latest and best of everything. Their involvement with Ulster University might have something to do with it, but as a patient, I get the benefit.
