I cannot speak highly enough of John from Centrona Gas for his outstanding service in addressing plumbing issues at my rental property in London. John was incredibly responsive throughout the entire process, swiftly resolving maintenance issues that had been plaguing the flat.

Engineer arrived this afternoon to fix my leaking boiler. I called at 10 am this morning so I was very pleased you were able to schedule a visit within a few hours! I can tell you first hand John the engineer was very knowledgeable, polite and friendly. I highly recommend this firm to anyone.

Been having my boiler serviced and repaired with Centrona for 7 years now. They always respond quickly and resolve issues.

I booked and paid up front for simple works (<0.5day) to my home in November. Despite multiple appointments (8) over the past 3.5 months, this work has not yet been completed.
Engineer has not showed up once, I have had three visits where someone attended but couldn't finish the work because they didn't have parts / didn't have the necessary qualifications. Usually appointments are cancelled on the day, after I contact both the office and the engineer involved, so I have already missed work and rearranged my schedule.
Excuses have included: engineer is sick, engineer is on leave, van is broken, parts not available (and have not been ordered).
I am calling nearly daily now between trying to get resolution with the manager, main office and engineer in question. Despite being assured it will be resolved imminently (since January) I am still waiting and have been offered an appointment in two weeks time as they have no engineers available that can complete the work.
I have made a formal complaint to the company which has not been responded to. I have also complained to CIPHE (but they are falsely advertising that they are members). So far they have offered refund of parts, but this isn't acceptable as I have also paid for labour.
I would recommend avoiding booking at the moment, as there are clearly internal resourcing issues. As they require full payment up front, I would recommend using a credit card.

Centrona gas has been maintaining my boiler for the past 12 years. They are always available and on time. My boiler broke down last week - Centrona Gas were able to diagnose the issue quickly, offer me alternative solutions and eventually install a new boiler within two days. Very dependable company - and local as well.

John and his team did my job professionally, I have not complainants. I use them again.

I cannot praise the guys enough! They're were a few teething issues with the installation but they got everything done working around us and our availability.

We dealt with predominantly with Ben and he was excellent! He was friendly, super tidy in his work and explained the process so that we knew what was being done and why.

I've been using Centrona gas for years and they are excellent, would absolutely recommend. They are reliable, efficient, and really helpful; mostly I've used them for regular services but on a few occasions have had some issues/problems which they've managed to fix quickly and efficiently. Big thanks as well to Paul who is our regular engineer and is a really lovely and helpful man!

Ben O’Brien came to fit my new boiler. It proved to be a difficult job due to the state of the brickwork in my 200 yr old flat. He worked diligently and creatively to find solutions communicating with me throughout the process. Trustworthy and hard working

I was in need of emergency plumbing for a new boiler installation as my 24 year old boiler suddenly gave up.

Ben came to the rescue and installed a new boiler in my home. I was incredibly impressed with his professionalism, expertise, and customer service.

Ben arrived on time for our appointment and started immediately with the work – no messing about!

The installation process went smoothly and Ben was very careful to clean up after himself. He even took the time to answer all my questions about how to maintain my new boiler.

I was particularly impressed with Ben's customer service. He was always friendly and responsive, and he went out of his way to make sure that I was happy with the work he did.

John and his colleague called the night before the installation and on the day to confirm that all was covered.
The tenants said that they were efficient and polite.

Guys came on time and kept me in the loop on their progress, took a bit longer than planned but cleaned up afterwards. And showed me how to use hive thermostat and demonstrated that everything was working before they left.

I used Centrona for 5+ years to service the boiler on my rental property and took out their insurance policy for breakdown/replacement. After 5 years, boiler completely broke down for first time and no heating/hot water for tenants.

Although Centrona visited next day, they didn't repair it. Unlike most tradesmen, Centrona don't advise the landlord of the issue/next steps - you have to call their office and chase it usually 3-4 times over a few days and go through Chinese whispers with the office rather than speaking to the engineer.

I was finally advised it would need a power flush for £900 (which isn't covered by the insurance I had taken with them) despite Centrona's own website quoting £400 for a power flush of this size and the system being fully flushed 5 years earlier and radiators previously heating well. When I raised this, Centrona didn't have an answer and I was basically told the engineer is qualified so that's the situation and that's his quote.

I paid to have a second engineer from a different company look at the boiler. Communication was far better with photos, videos and an in-depth call whilst at the appointment. He immediately shut down the boiler due to gas safety and showed the parts that had failed. The whole boiler unit needed replacing - the power flush Centrona quoted for was irrelevant to the issue and the water was clean and clear.

Centrona had serviced and cleared the boiler two months prior and never mentioned any of the issues building up that caused the failure, or even when they visited on the breakdown. The second company could not believe I was quoted for a power flush to fix the issue and doubted previous boiler services had been done properly.

After being a loyal customer to Centrona for years, their service completely failed when I needed it.
