Andrew and Michael are incredibly helpful advisors in the high school to college transition, and the vast amount of online resources that the team has brought together for their students was invaluable in exploring and deciding between colleges. If you're looking for college admissions put simply, in as straightforward of a manner as possible, College Transitions is a stellar choice.

So happy to have found College Transitions! Dave and Michael gave us great support on all items, especially the college list, reviewing all applications, and suggesting essays edits. We also found their books to be nice resources, and "Colleges Worth Your Money" was our go to book. It's so good that we recommended it to other families. Our son will be attending UC Berkeley this year and we couldn't be any more happy!

The College Transitions team did a great job narrowing down my schools, helping me with one on one essay coaching, creating a narrative, and helping land me an offer from Cornell (among many other amazing universities!).

I owe College Transitions a tremendous amount of gratitude! I began working with Dave Bergman and Michael Trivette at the beginning of 11th grade and they helped me plan for everything that would be going into my applications. They were able to review my profile early on and give me advice on where to cut back and what things to focus on. While many of my friends were trying to do so many activities, Dave and Michael told me to focus on my most important extracurriculars. I was able to use that time to volunteer at the hospital, compete in Science Olympiad, and serve as president of our school's HOSA chapter. By the time the applications were due, I was able to point to a few things that we felt best communicated who I was, and what I wanted to do in college. I received acceptances from 9 different colleges and I am convinced that Dave and Michael prevented me from attempting to do too much, to the point where my applications would have suffered. Instead, I felt calm and reassured throughout the entire process. I should also thank my writing coach, Molly, as she was a huge help for all of my essays. I'm eternally grateful to College Transitions for helping me achieve my dream of attending WashU in St. Louis!

Through College Transitions, I was able to easily construct a list of colleges that I was truly excited to go to. I was able to ask Michael for help at any time, which made it really convenient. College Transitions gave me guidance and resources that I would never have otherwise known about. Coming from a high school where our counselors had hundreds of students assigned to them, I wasn’t able to receive personalized attention. However, my College Transitions counselor, Mr. Trivette, was extremely responsive, thorough, and helpful at all times. He also assigned a gifted editor to review my essays. She allowed me to express my thoughts and creativity while helping me stay focused on the prompts and word limits. These days, the college application process is overwhelming. As a student, I really appreciated Micheal Trivette's guidance through the college application process. I am so incredibly grateful for the guidance and support during the college process that College Transitions gave. From the first meeting with Michael, I knew I was in good hands even though the college application process was terrifying to me and arguably one of the most stressful periods of life I’ve been through. Throughout my application process, the regular check-ins by Michael kept me on track. My essay coach gave very useful and prompt feedback for all of my essays, and I felt like I became a much better writer in the process and these skills have carried me through college into my career. Before working with College Transitions my dad and I had created a list of ten or so colleges that we felt would be a good fit for me. However, after meeting Micheal and having him help me through the college process, he chose a couple of schools that a) I never even heard of but were fantastic fits b) I never thought I would get into. College transition allowed me insight on what many colleges are actually looking for-- I had a very narrow idea of the "ideal applicant," but after working with college transitions I had a much better understanding of what the "ideal applicant" actually looks like. I realized that there were so many things I underplayed that ended up becoming major "playing cards" in my application. College transitions introduced me to Vassar College, a school I never thought I would get into. After seeing that Michael believed I had the potential to get into such a selective school, I started to understand what the college process really looked like and the strengths I had to offer that for so long I didn't think would "count" towards anything. I had never heard of Vassar and it was my reach school and wild card school. I am now at Vassar, and it has exceeded my expectations. I had no idea how perfect of a fit it would be for me-- it truly did seem like Michael knew me better than I knew myself. I would have never ended up at such a good school and one that fits so perfectly for me if it hadn't been for college transitions.

College Transitions genuinely changed the trajectory of my life. Feeling stuck and confused about what was next for my journey, Dave Bergman individually restored so much faith in myself and gave me the confidence to pursue transferring from community college in one year rather than two like I had previously thought. He recommended colleges I had never considered before and am now at CU Boulder Leeds School of Business, which he directed me towards. I could not be more grateful for the individual support and mentoring College Transitions has given me. They gave me a path forward but more importantly restored my faith in myself, and set me back on track to have a successful and enjoyable college experience.

Having Brazilian parents, we didn’t know many of the intricacies of the American college system.
