Our driver, Emmanuel, arrived almost 30 minutes late with no explanation or apology.

He did not help move any items (which I expected). However, he did not even open the back of the van fully to allow us to move items in, and my boyfriend had to do it.

He did not secure any of my items. He broke suddenly a few times resulting in my things moving around the van.

He was also using his phone / texting throughout the drive.

He was not polite or helpful.

I would not book this driver in future.

If I could give 10 stars to Napoleon I would. When I initially booked this job at the beginning of the week, I chose a man and van based on their reviews. It was really important to me that I knew who was coming to help me as I was emptying out my storage unit after 5 and half years. It was going to be a stressful process and I wanted to know that the person who was helping me was going to do a good job. The day before, I received a notification that my man and van had been changed. I was not happy and considered cancelling the booking altogether but I needed the job done the next day (as scheduled!!). I couldn't risk not finding someone at short notice.

I got a call that evening from my new driver and this put all of my fears to rest! Napoleon went above and beyond to make this job go as smoothly as possible. I couldn't have asked for a better person to help me! He was on time and wasn't phased by the amount of stuff in my storage unit. He spent as much time reassuring me as he did packing his van. He is an absolute expert at this making sure that everything was carefully put into his van and that it all fit. He called a helper, Tomas, to meet at my flat to unload. They were quick and efficient and so careful with my things. Nothing was too much trouble. If you are lucky enough to see this review, book Napoleon without hesitation. I would never use anyone else now.

Driver could not have been more helpful or cheerful - an absolute delight!

I’m posting this publicly because Compare The Man And Van have given me no working way to contact them, and their emails bounce back.

I booked a job through their platform with driver Adedayo Adeyemi, and during the move he caused damage to my mother’s cooker. I also have serious concerns that the van he used may not have been road legal or properly insured, based on its condition.

When I tried to report the damage, Compare The Man And Van told me to “contact the driver directly” — but they never provided a phone number, I do not have an account, and their email replies are rejected. I have been left with no way to reach the driver, no way to file a claim, and no support from the company.

This raises major concerns about:

Whether their drivers are actually vetted

Whether vehicles are insured or roadworthy

Whether their “fully insured” claims are accurate

Their lack of customer support and accountability

I have now reported this to Citizens Advice Consumer Service for escalation to Trading Standards, as this situation is unacceptable and potentially unsafe.

I am asking Compare The Man And Van to respond publicly and provide:

A working contact route

A damage claim process

Confirmation that the driver and vehicle were legally compliant

Until then, I cannot recommend this service.

Really easy to book, everything went smoothly on the day and Ismail was lovely. He brought us up in the van with him and got us there very quickly. Highly recommend!

Adedayo arrived on time and was very helpful throughout the process, including being graceful when exposed to a tense move out environment and need to change the arrangement: I required more time and he was able to accommodate for the pre-known fee.

Unfortunately we had an unpleasant experience with the driver Adedayo and this platform refused to aid for the dispute saying the time has passed (not stated on T&C at all) while it has been 3 weeks as we were waiting for our landlord's comment and the inventory report was taken immediately the next business day after the move.

Aside from the platform's refusal to help, the service provided was also subpar.
1. Completely wrong arrival time
The driver arrived at 9am for a 10:30am booking and only returned at 12pm AFTER we called to look for him at 11am
2. Punctures the size of golf ball on wall in old flat and door frame damage in new flat, which were hardly unnoticeable, yet not a word was said to us
3. Unfamilliar with the area
The driver left the old flat 10 minutes before us but we arrived at the new place earlier, wondering where they were. At the end, they drove past our address, seemingly unable to locate the new flat and not contacting us.
The 2 places are only 6 miles apart and the route is normal city road.

Consumers pay this platform and it refuses any liability or least to attach the T&C until you go look for it. Given the communication and poor service provided, I would not recommend this platform to anyone at all.

[UPDATE 13/2/26: In response to the vendor's comment, we would like to state that it is extremely difficult to find the driver's number or any other contact methods. Please note that we have yet been able to contact the driver so far. We request that the platform connect us to the driver in question at their earliest convenience.]

Short notice, and he turned up on time, was helpful and efficient and got me to the destination quickly.

I had to do another move fairly recently, and that one (with another provider) was over 2 hours late.

This was a breath of fresh air.

Didn't chat, said i had booked the wrong size van yet it all fit. Sofas said didnt fit so I had to put them in. Paid for 3 hours they finished in 2h ish just past.

They were rapid and did heroically well moving the sofas down the set of stairs.

Moving is stressful and all you want is people to say let's do this.

Perftectly on time. Perfectly professional. Kept all my valuables safe and secure for the shift.

Driver was very prompt friendly and helpful great knowledge of the route displayed customer service at all times would definitely use again *******
