We used these guys to advise on stamp duty liability when buying our apartment. I was struggling to navigate the minefield that is share-to-buy staircasing and onward sale (where you own <80% of a property on a share to buy scheme, but are selling 100%, activating the requirement of a stamp duty land tax payment). I wasn't at all sure whether I was liable for this payment, but had read something about sub-sale relief but really struggled to make head or tail of advice online. Through some Googling, I came across Cornerstone and Sam Warren instantly came back to me after I sent an email, explaining that he could help and how it would work. I now have a document explaining what needs to happen and how I am entitled to sub-sale relief, which my solicitors will carry out upon completion. Sam was great throughout on both email and telephone, and even explained that your conveyancing solicitors can't always advise on this issue (something I was initially frustrated with my solicitors about) as they can often give out incorrect advice. Top service and one that has saved me a few thousand pounds. Thank you!
