Helpful, good customer support

I have never, ever received such poor customer service from any retailer before. After a small electrical item was purchased IN STORE in August and failed to the point of being unusable after 42 days the only “assistance” Currys store could offer was a telephone number to enable ME to contact the manufacturer! It was then expected that I would parcel the item and return it to the manufacturer myself, even though the item was purchased, in person, at my local store. But,and here’s the Currys’ con, IF I had purchased Currys “Instant Replacement Plan” at the point of purchase (which I knew nothing about and it was not discussed at the time of purchase) they would have replaced the faulty item in store immediately. Basically Currys PLC are no longer accepting any responsibility for the purchase contract between consumer and retailer as detailed in the Consumer Rights Act 2015 if you do not purchase THEIR “Instant Replacement Plan”. Totally unacceptable retail practice and even writing to the Currys CEO office does not alter their decision. Will never shop at Currys ever again as they do not deserve to be in business whilst offering such shoddy customer service and unacceptable retail practices.

I ordered a cooker and fridge freezer 2 months ago, excellent experience, arrived on time, helpful delivery people, both working fine would recommend.

I ordered a security camera on the 18th august ,was told it would be delivered on 20th by premium delivery. Did not hear any thing from then ,so i cancelled the order on the 24 th august .They sent me a e-mail on the 24th (saying we are on case your order has been cancelled, No problem ,your refund will be with you in 5-7 working days.)Rang customer service on the 7th,14th,and 28 September ,All they said was they will put a request in and you will get a refund in 72 hours. Now October. no phone calls back, no e -mails. So in the end i got fed up waiting six weeks for a refund so I had to do a section75 through my Credit Card.

The young lad Sayab was very knowledgable . He taught us alot and was very helpful on which telephone was suitable for us .

The assistant was most helpful and took the sale to completion easily.

The heater arrived the next day which was great service.

Matt was friendly, helpful and kept me informed at every stage. He explained everything clearly and made sure the product suited.

Upon collection I was equally impressed by another team member, G who quickly ensured everything was set up and ready to go.

Nice services friendly guy

Ordered the purchased item in store, they said it would arrive Saturday, so drove all the way to store only to discover item not been delivered yet (they failed to explain I need to check for an email first!)
Item still not arrived Sunday so still awaiting updated email.

So sorry,did not get ladies name but she was brilliant,worked upstairs,she sold us a Dyson Hover.

Initial experience was not good. No one came to help, then I had to search to find someone. Arrangements for lap top to be in store inside a week did not happen. Then Gordon intervened and sorted everything out. What a difference! Gordon is a 10+ star.

Very disappointing customer service and a very frustrating experience.

I purchased a gaming chair, but unfortunately after opening the box I realised that it did not fit properly in the room. I contacted the Peterborough store to ask about returning it, but was told that opened boxes cannot be returned and that I should check online.

I then contacted the online customer service team, only to be told to check with the Peterborough store. I went back to the store, and the person at the counter simply repeated that they do not accept returns once the box has been opened.

This leaves the customer in a difficult position. If the customer is told to check online, and online customer service sends them back to the store, who is actually responsible for dealing with the return query?

I understand that the company may have concerns about reselling an opened product, but that is not something the customer should simply be dismissed with. The customer deserves a clear explanation of the returns policy and consistent advice from both the store and online customer service.

The whole experience felt like being passed from one place to another without anyone taking ownership of the issue.
