This company is a fraud and this is the 2nd review that has been removed.
I was charged and paid for an item that had been sold by a dealer 2 years ago, represented by this website as available for purchase.
Do NOT purchase from this website, or through the company who appears to have acquired this criminal business called 'Whoppah'.

Every time I write a review about 'design market' it gets taken down after complaints by the now defunct 'design market' - how dare they! The company failed due to greed and bad management leaving hundreds of people unpaid or without item's they ordered. Personally, I am left with an unrecoverable debt of 5100 euro, others a lot more!
As the management of 'design market' skip off in to the distance with an undisclosed deal with Whoppah (by the way these guys should be ashamed of themself as well) many people are left in debt. What the (expletive) is going on and how do these people get away with it - answers to me on a postcard please!

DO NOT SHOP ON THIS FRAUDULENT PLATFORM. They successfully stole $5K from me on about a month ago, on August 26, 2024. After depositing my funds, they refused to transfer my $$ to the vendor (the very nice Galeri Watteeu, in Belgium) and actually tried to force THEM to send me the chairs for free. Win-win, right? Just last week they got acquired by Whoppah, an (apparently) legitimate second-hand marketplace. But don't be fooled; the new ownership is taking zero responsibility for the theft, even in cases as recent as mine, and is in the process of "upcycling" the platform to restore its legitimacy. But clearly they haven't gone all-in; even today, the "review" feature on the site (which is a convincing imitation of TrustPilot) is mysteriously not working. For those lucky enough to find the real reviews here before you click "buy," STAY FAR AWAY FROM DESIGN MARKET.

Ich hatte einen sehr teuren Schreibtisch von 1930 bestellt und bezahlt. Erst im Anschluss daran erfuhr ich, dass Design Market im Dezember 2023 insolvent war. Was soll ich sagen; es lief alles einwandfrei ab! Mein Antikstück kam innerhalb einer akzeptablen Frist in professioneller Verpackung heute an. Auf meine beunruhigten Mails kam stets eine freundliche Antwort. Was man mir darin versprach hielt man zu 100%. Ich hoffe der Händler ist wirtschaftlich wieder auf die Beine gekommen, so dass sich zukünftig auch andere Kunden freuen können.

I ordered few pieces there. Some of them came without any issues. The table I ordered and paid for has not been delivered and I can’t get hold of the customer service to find out what is the status of this order. Their customer service line is not working, they don’t respond to emails either. I have tried their fb and ig as well, but no reaction…
Please do not order there! It’s a scam…

Möbelstück wurde im Januar 2024 gekauft, vor dem Kauf erfolgten noch Nachfragen per mail auch zu anderen Möbelstücken, diese e-mails wurden seitens Design-Market innerhalb von 30-120min beanwortet! Nach dem Kauf per Credit Karte wurde die Kaufsumme natürlich umgehend meinem Konto belastet. Die Lieferfrist des Möbelstückes aus dem EU Ausland wurde mit mehreren Wochen angegeben. Zig-fache Nachfragen per mail in Februar und März 2024 blieben stets unbeantwortet! Es wurde meinerseits juristische Schritte angedroht, auch dieses ohne jegliche Reaktion oder Rücküberweisung der Kaufsumme.
Per Chargeback Verfahren gelang es die Kaufsumme - bei seitens Designmarket Nichterfüllung des Vertrages - zurückzuholen.

I am a dealer and I have sold an item over a year ago. Several excuses but I still haven't gotten my money. Please do not sell or buy here! Absolute fraude!!!

I ordered a table in November. So far, I haven't received any money or a table. The phone doesn't work, they don't respond to emails. Big fraud - if you pay by bank transfer, you will never receive your order. I filed a report with the police.

This company is pretending to sell items, but all they do is take money.

They used to do good business for many years, but this year they became a fraudulent company.

Buyers and sellers will loose their money and items and that's the end of it. DM will forward you fake payment confirmations and false promises. This is now officially a scam and they are about to get in a lot of legal problems as us and many different dealers have taken action.

David, we are still awaiting your response and the money you promised both us and the clients but we are not going to wait forever!

Can write a long story about how terrible this experience has been over the last 2 months, but it's not worth more of my time and energy.

Just know this; Buyer beware!

This site is scam and they don't pay the independent galleries / dealers so goods never gets released / shipped. And you will have a hell of time getting a refund back from these guys. Hopefully you use a CC or service where you can dispute charges. I used PayPal which is covered, but due to the duration of this case it got complicated to get my money back. Use 1stDibs or Charish instead :)

DONT USE DESIGN MARKET.. They won't pay the sellers, so no item is being send out.. and the buyer loses money ! (or seller loses item)

Escolhi 1 estrela porque não posso escolher zero!
Encomendei e paguei uma mesa em 15 de Abril de 2023. Os temos e condições indicavam entre 3 e 5 semanas para entrega. A porta do prédio. Se fosse dentro de casa, o valor aumentaria cerca de 350€
No dia 13 de junho recebi informação que a mesa seria entregue dentro de 2 a 3 semanas. Como ia viajar, e cansada de tanta espera, decidi cancelar a encomenda. Fui informada que teria que pagar o custo do transporte de retorno. De um artigo que nunca recebi. Queria encerrar esta situação e concordei, solicitando o reembolso do valor remanescente (tinha pago dois meses antes 1.195€).
Preenchi e devolvi o formulário de devolução que me foi enviado em 20 de Julho p.p. Disseram que seria reembolsada após inspeção do artigo… nunca recebi a mesa. Que quereriam eles inspecionar? Qualquer dano não poderia ter sido provocado por mim. O artigo nunca saiu de França!
Hoje, 27 de Agosto, mais se 4 meses após a compra, inúmeros emails sem resposta e com a paciência a zeros, ainda não recebi o reembolso a que tenho direito, nem qualquer feedback. Informação, actualização, nada!!!
Não respeitam os seus próprios termos e condições. Não atendem nem respondem aos clientes. São indelicados e rudes (tentaram dissuadir-me de cancelar a encomenda. E nessa altura tiveram tempo e disponibilidade para me telefonar e enviar emails).
Lamentável e horrível serviço ao cliente. De evitar a todo o custo esta empresa.
Aconselho todos a não se deixarem enganar pela publicidade e redes sociais da Deaign Market. É um esquema que todos devemos evitar e/ou denunciar
