Don’t get a share you’ll regret it

We told the repersentive we didn’t want to go to the same place we did last year and she booked us the same island but a different area not what we wanted and it was supposed to be for our honeymoon and they won’t let us switch it even tho it’s 7 months in advance just because the 24 hour cancellation policy which they make it difficult to find the email in the first place I would recommend to anyone not to get diamond resort shares it really isn’t worth it.

I paid for 3 night package

I paid for 3 night package. Have had a medical emergency come up and needed to reschedule time for my stay. Tried contacting for 2 days. Finally on 2nd day after waiting for 45 minutes I talked to Shauna.
Was short and pointed with me that I would have to forfeit my payment and could not reschedule. Once answered call lasted 30 seconds.
Horrible customer service. Blessing in disguise that I will not but a timeshare with Hilton Grand Vacations. Diamond Resort. They don't understand who the customer is. Stay away!

Exit from Contract

We have recently been in touch with Diamond because after 23 years using our timeshare option we are no longer fit enough to do so.
As we have no one to transfer it to we asked to surrender the agreement.
They have been very easy to deal with and I have been impressed with how quickly we have had the paperwork.

Untrustworthy Business Practice

The “free stay” offered by Diamond Resorts was not worth the gruesome four-hour meeting we were forced to sit through. Everything we were told was a lie designed to waste our time and trick us into buying a timeshare. Every benefit and price point they told us about was bogus. They promised us the world and said we could use this timeshare for cruises, plane tickets, and even earn additional points. Let me tell you, every time we tried to book a vacation, they never had the dates we wanted available… or any dates at all! It was like playing a game of vacation roulette. The salespeople also said this timeshare would increase in value and be super easy to resell. Turns out that was just a complete lie. We were completely scammed by Diamond and are expected to pay more than $20,000! All for us to never receive the free stay we were promised. Upsetting. We are retired and veterans and this is the last way we thought we would be treated by any company, let alone one with such a well-known brand.

Do NOT engage with Diamond Resorts!

We have requested a release of our contract with Diamond Resorts due to their misleading sales tactics and disappointing experiences with their properties and personnel. We received a call from a Diamond representative who basically said there was no way out of the contract unless we paid our contract/loan in full. I was crystal clear, we wanted nothing to do with Diamond and promised I would research ways out. To my dismay, every review site is littered with negative reviews of Diamond resorts and many of the reviews read just like our story.

Our initial contact with Diamond was through a baseball game giveaway, but we were pressured into attending a sales presentation at a resort in Daytona Beach. The sales agents made promises that were not delivered, rushed us through the closing, and failed to provide important contract information. We paid an upfront deposit and were signed up for a credit card we didn't need. Absolutely nothing was above-board like we would have expected from a multi-billion-dollar company. Be cautious, watch out for the ridiculous things the salespeople say. If it doesn’t feel right, trust your gut!

Our relationship with Diamond Resorts…

Our relationship with Diamond Resorts started out on a rocky road and turned out to be a complete disaster. In less than 2 years, we have discovered a multitude of lies, manipulation, and a breach of our consumer rights. During the presentation, they effectively held us hostage until we made a purchase. They took our drivers licenses at check in and refused to hand them back until the presentation was over. They advertised a no pressure/no obligation 90-minute tour and after 2 hours we tried to leave, but apparently time doesn’t dictate when it’s over, they do. Being self-employed and despite our financial concerns, they pressured us into a $9000 deal, but because we never saw the closing disclosure, we never saw the interest rate or the finance charge, which makes this loan well over $20,000. They failed to disclose crucial information, and the whole experience was a blatant scam. We’ve asked Hilton, who recently acquired them, to do the right thing and cancel the contract. Fingers crossed that Hilton has not broken their moral compass like Diamond did!

I have been a member for 10yrs and have recently received the worst service from any company I have encountered. Every representative I have spoken to has either not been able to assist with my account or doesn’t understand my issue. My account was cancelled erroneously.

This company is totally fraud..we had…

This company is totally fraud..we had booked a package in 2019 while visiting Mont temblant (Canada) for 4days/3 nights..
Since then we have been trying to contact to book rooms at the same location but there was no availability and we were also advised to book at vancouver since then we didn't want to spend 2000 grand just to avail that package..now i tried to contact them again after multiple attempts over the phone so the lady Shaun petter at the customer service told me that company had been taken over and our package is only valid for Whistler (BC) which was a horrible surprise for us..she was rude and had been saying our package has already expired and we had not contacted them since 2019 which was a total lie..
After having a long conversation we have denied to avail our package..
Please be aware to fall in this fraud...we have lost our money please you can save yours..

Horrible experience

I want to share my deeply negative experience with Diamond Resorts/Hilton Grand Vacations in the hope that others can avoid falling victim to their fraudulent practices. As a retired nurse on a fixed income, I attended a presentation in May 2019 and was convinced to purchase a "Sampler Package" that turned out to be the beginning of a series of confusing and manipulative encounters. At subsequent meetings, I was pressured into buying additional points, misled about maintenance fees, and charged exorbitant amounts on credit cards without understanding the true nature of the transactions. The sales team used terms like "illegal" to confuse and deceive me, ultimately leading to a financial burden that has severely impacted my mental and financial well-being. To date, I have paid Diamond Resorts/Hilton Grand Vacations a staggering amount of over $90,000 in cash and credit card transactions, not including the loan on the latest contract. These transactions have depleted my life savings and left me in a state of distress. I urgently request the cancellation of all contracts with Diamond Resorts/Hilton Grand Vacations and a thorough investigation into their fraudulent practices. It is essential that they be held accountable for the harm they have caused. I implore other travelers, especially senior citizens like myself, to be cautious and avoid any dealings with Diamond Resorts/Hilton Grand Vacations. Recently they offered me a way out through a Transtitions program but that didn’t cancel all my contracts, only the ones that have been paid off. They led me to believe the Transitions program would eliminate all of my contractual obligations. It’s like this company enjoys abusing seniors and playing mind games. Their unethical behavior and abusive sales tactics have left me in a dire financial situation. Learn from my experience. Diamond and Hilton are predatory to seniors!

The financial department is so…

The financial department is so difficult to deal with. They misplaced the automated payment information and continues to send messages on due payment. They process out pay for one month and miss the following. This is very annoying and time consuming to the customers.

Frustration experience

I am being with them 2 years almost 3 Never I can use my points.
Las year the don't have any resorts in LA California and this year I tray to do a reservation to the en of December
and I couldn't because 5 month before is they say that is all full

For what I paying every month is I can not used it
I will try my best to cancel this good for nothing company

I am an owner in Varsity Clubs of…

I am an owner in Varsity Clubs of America in Tucson.
Been trying to get my 2024 week for about 4 months now and they have been telling me it is too early to call. I called every 3 weeks since March 2023. Even paid the 2024 maintenance fees in advance.
Last week I called and they told me my category is fully booked! Hung up, called the resort and booked the same dates and same category by paying.
As an owner I cant get the room but if I give them credit card and pay for the room then its easily available.
I complained and they told me a manager will call me back but no one did.

No value in this timeshare

My late wife and I purchased 5,000 points from Sunterra in 2003. We had used these points up until my wife’s unfortunate passing due to cancer in 2007. From then on, I continued to travel solo and never interacted with Diamond Resorts, the owner of Sunterra, until around 2014.

Once Diamond Resorts got involved, it all went downhill and became harder to get reservations and got significantly more expensive. They told me about the amazing new benefits and how it was worth purchasing points with them. It was not worth it, and the benefits are NOT amazing, they’re non-existent. I then got a call in 2018 to encourage me to purchase points with Hilton, the new owner of Diamond Resorts. They assured me the value of my points would increase significantly, so I purchased 30,000 points. This purchase has changed nothing and from what I can tell it will not increase in value, even incrementally. Since Diamond/Hilton got involved, they have made it significantly harder and more expensive to travel.

To date I have spent more than $800,000 with Sunterra/Diamond Resorts/Hilton Grand Vacations. I am not able to afford this any longer. I just turned 80-years-old and would like to live out my remaining years in peace. How much more money do these people need from a widower in his 80’s for crying out loud?

Value seriously lacking

My wife and I have been owners of Diamond Resorts Liki Tiki Village property for 12 long years now. It hasn't been a smooth ride…ever. Even though we've paid off our contract, we still get hit with crazy high fees that we don't even understand. The service, rooms, and hidden fees are all subpar and we're done with it.
On top of that, we had to deal with bed bugs and a nasty smell in our room during one of our stays. When we complained to the staff, they just ignored us. We have no idea where our maintenance fees go and doubt, they're being used to keep the rooms clean or updated. And can you believe that we had to pay for hurricane damages? What the heck, don’t these companies carry insurance??? We have already paid maintenance fees, and now we must pay for damages, too. It's just not right. The management and value of this property is seriously lacking.

High maintenance annual fees, difficult to make reservations, forced into 7 days and start that incurs higher cost of flying.
Overbooked.
Fee of $250 for transition out of contract, after losibg points that were paid for. Zero value after paying several thousand dollars. Bad investment@

Diamond Resorts/Hilton Grand Vacations

Diamond Resorts post being bought out/acquired by Hilton Grand Vacations is totally a financial disaster for once Platinum Members of the now non existent "Diamond Resorts". The points once accessing platinum membership and the benefits, now need to be "converted" to Hilton points costing more money for less benefits. The assessment premiums are crazy high even with Diamond prior to the Hilton taking over and remain the same with Hilton Grand Vacations PLUS the conversion fees make it impossible for retired Seniors even to keep what was theirs previous to the "takeover". Trying to get out is even more a costly nightmare! Some governing agency needs to help those of us just trying to get out of this strangling "pyramid" because it is simply not the "contract" and "cost" with associated "benefits". Hilton is simply qualifying and disregarding the contract of those originally mutually agreed upon between Diamond & Consumer/Client!
This is against the law.
