I honestly couldn’t be more grateful to Nick Parkinson and his team.

Since the beginning of October 2024 I had been suffering with a horrid UTI and kidney pain.

After 8 rounds of different antibiotics, negative dipsticks and cultures from the NHS, being told it’s in my head, private urology appointments and 7+ A&E trips.. I was at what I thought was a dead end. Until on an internet forum page I stumbled across a digital microbiology (DM) recommendation. At the end of my tether and the toll it had taken on my mental health I was willing to try anything. I used DM and another testing platform and DM were by far the most helpful and informative.

My results appeared within 2 working days that I had Gardnerella Swindinski. The antibiotics that were recommended were Metronadizole however, that didn’t work and with amazing communication Nick himself Clindamycin was considered. I requested this from my GP and retested 5 days after completion of my course. My symptoms cleared and my retest showed that it had been eradicated from my microbiome.

After being signed off sick, bed bound and unable to be who I used to be was a dark place.

The communication, information and service from DM is invaluable and I cannot recommend them enough. They gave me more than enough information for me to take to a medical professional and make an informed decision about my health. Giving me back some control that I lost in the darkest time of my life.

This test has allowed me to investigate my health further which revealed I have a PUJ which affects my kidney and ureter. Without this test I would’ve been at a standstill with my investigations I believe. So I am now resolving that matter.

Their ethos, service and compassion is incredible. If you’re on the fence get off and do it. You won’t regret it. Just remember they can’t give medical advice they can give you information to support you on your medical journey. Which they definitely did me.

I will retest in a few months and do one every so often just to check my urine and vaginal health.

Remember you know your body and if somethings not right get it checked.

I am still trying to understand what might be causing my pain but sending off the test with Digital Microbiology has given me a better understanding. I have asked a few questions and someone has always got back to me pretty quickly to help me understand. My problem is quite complex as I have had problems for over 40 years on and off. Now I can get back to the GP with a better understanding and hopefully try some treatment which has been recommended by the lab.

After years of being fobbed off by GP, nurses and even hospitals “sample is clear” despite being in agony I have to say this is a game changer. I have now been able to go back to them and show exactly what is in my urine and rather than mess around with antibiotics and build resistance I get prescribed exactly what I need. It is well known the dip samples are less than 25% accurate. This is a horrendous issue nevermind being made to feel like it’s all in your mind. The test comes quick, send first sample and detailed results are back within a few days. I don’t mind the price as I would pay anything to get results and get better quicker and it’s all broken down explanations and percentages etc

My only downside is they are closed at weekends and whilst I appreciate everyone needs time off it means realistically even if they receive sample on Thursday you are waiting to Monday to get results which is a long time when in so much pain and worry about developing kidney/sepsis issues however I am extremely grateful for their work and honestly believe this is the future.

Provide detailed result on samples. Quick turnaround , perfect communication . Will definitely use again.

This test definitely picks up organisms the "standard NHS" test does not pick up. After years of negatives, I could put a name on the culprit of my issues.

First experience with this company and I am beyond satisfied. Their customer service (responsiveness to mails) is perfect. They helped me all the way with every doubt and question. The customer service at Digital Microbiology was outstanding.
It is not the first time I used Digital Microbiology. I have reoccurring UTIs and Gardnerella Vagilities.

My GP sent a Swab and a urine sample to the NHS Lab and both came back normal.

A few days later I decided to send a swab and a urine sample from Digital Microbiology as my symptoms were getting worse.

Digital Microbiology uses the latest scientific research that now defines Gardnerella vaginalis as five new separate species of Gardnerella.

I now know which one I have ( Gardnerella leopoldii)

within 48 hours I received my results and I emailed the results to my GP who is always keen to follow Digital Microbiology advice.

Today she prescribed me an oral antibiotic as the bacterial vaginosis has spread to my bladder and a vaginal cream for 5 days to treat the BV in my vagina.

Wow...What would I do if I didn't use Digital Microbiology?

I am away on holiday next week and I am very happy that I am going to enjoy my holiday pain-free and leak-free.

I can not recommend this company highly enough.

Do not hesitate to use this company if you have bladder or vaginal symptoms, they are incredible.

I think if you have no symptoms you should still have at least one test done as precaution to make sure you are healthy down there.

I want to thank the Company and especially Mr. Parkinson for all they did for me. He always replies back to my emails and always explains well my inquiries. I am not English and I find it hard sometimes to understand.

This company is brilliant. A fast turn around and such helpful customer service indeed. i would highly recommend. They gave me the results that were so thorough and meant that I could be prescribed the correct antibiotic, when nothing was showing up on the NHS tests.

They reply to emails very fast, the tests are highly accurate and they arrive super fast. Definitely the best testing method in Europe at the moment, transparent and user friendly.

I'm a man who was suffering with a recurrent UTI which turned into prostatitus. The NHS tests repeatedly failed to pick my infection on urine tests which lead to me being prescribed the wrong anti biotics on and off for months which resulted in me being very ill for a long time. When I heard about digital microbiology I was at my wits end. Very straight forward and super fast turn around revealed I had a severe ecoli infection and that I should take ciprofloxacin. I had initially asked for these from my doctors 6 months previous but was refused as they said "it's like bleach and we don't prescribed it anymore" even though I've been treated with it for previous infections.
Low and behold a 2 week course finally cleared the infection and I'm basically back to 100% ok. Can't thank them enough. Without that test I'm pretty sure I'd still be getting fobbed off from doctors and consultant and still suffering. Many thanks
